| Its simple. Women can be somewhat difficult to understand and grasp at times. Where as boobs on the other hand are very easy to understand. In all seriousness this is a stereotype that will never go away. It is in all media formats. People are programmed to want to see something perfect or in other words something they are not and want. It is a marketing tactic and has worked well for a long time now. This is not to say that I agree with it just stating the truth. Plus just like with the big chested female argument it can also be flipped. Why does a lot of men in media has to have perfect body's with no shirts on half the time? Until the producers of media realize that we are not all 14 year old boys with hard ons 24/7 then I don't ever see sex as a marketing tactic changing. Still to be truthful it really does not bug me much. I just simply move around bad media with this as its main feature. |

| Once you understand this unspoken rule or law or something that 90+% something of all anime suck, you'll stop bothering to ask why fanservice is everywhere, why there's always a hot spring episode, why not so-large-boobs bounce wildly, why there's so many shy or dense mains, why most harem suck (even though back to the rule, most of everything suck), why there's always the same archetype girls in a harem, why shounen has so many deus-ex-machina, why people like Code Geass, and etc. |

| It's just like the blonde and glasses stereotype things. They don't make any sense. Though all of this tended to come about through American Hipster(old Hipster, where black = cool, not new hipster where psuedo = cool but not really as much as just like another type of "goth" or non-status quo) versus nerd/geek/dork pop culture. And in this stereotype people saw people with glasses as not physically fit and therefor nerds. And the epitome of a "popular girl" was a Stepford Smiler, blonde, submissive, motherly, a bit snooty, into fashion and pink, and not for IQ upstairs, and a bit anti-intellectual even. And of course with the stereotype of blonde was the stereotype of busty, you weren't a real Blonde Stepford Popular with mosquito bites! Basically, everything associated with that dichotomy has been influencing pop culture since it began, which goes way way, all the way back to blackface as far as I know. And if not, at least Jazz. Let's look at other media stereotypes, not just glasses and breasts and hair. If a woman is tanned, and a more bronze tanned, she's seen as more popular, but not as smart as the pale, goth loser who gets good grades and snarks it up at people(because deep deep down, she's jealous and taking revenge on the decent cool kids). |

| Simple. 1) A girl with a brain and big boobs is too much of a Mary Sue for the anime community. 2) Having a main female character smarter than the main male character will upset the sexist japanese idea that men are always smarter than women. And no one wants their self-insert hero to be bested by a woman. 3) Brains don't sell merch, but boobs do. Also, i am a little confuzzled by the "milk in the morning" comment on the OP. Is it not just nerdy Japanese boys who have never seen a real woman who believe all breasts give breast milk? I mean, it is stupid I know, but are there really people outside the anime industry who believe woman can lactate purely because their boobs are huge and not only when pregnant/ after pregnancy? |
