| I doubt they went there solely to rescue Van. They went to reclaim the only person capable of piloting the Escaflowne. That mech is far too powerful for the enemy to just throw away, and now they lack the pilot. |

| Giving a great big hug then stabbing with a tranquilizing needle, that's brotherly love for you! It's cool how Van's brother has wings, I wonder hwy some characters have wings. This show so far is really giving me a lot of Miyazaki vibes! Airships from Castle in the sky, kingdoms and knights from Nausicaa, fantasy and animals remind me of princess mononoke, moving fortresses from How's moving castle, and of course, the whole dragon thing from Tales from Earthsea!! |

| @Adriannitro actually, in the English dub version, Hitomi says that her best long jump is 6 feet, and she also mentions that the gap looked about 8 or 9 feet. Despite all of that, I think it's worth remembering that it was a levistone area, which makes me think that her jump could've been influenced by different gravitational factors. |
