It was the right link, as MedK001 and then traed and then I explained. You're the one who's not reading.
@Lucifrost

????? I'll repeat again, I read BOTH Wikipedia articles, the one about real life and the one about anime, which as I mentioned @ChouunShiryuu literally posted the criticism that is on Wikipedia about the harem GENRE that the op complained about, I am very confused by your reaction.

And @ColourWheel provided the correct link.

Either this is a shitpost or dude doesn't know how Wikipedia works:

What happened to Wikipedia articles being objective and impartial? I see none of that in the article.

I lean towards first assumption.
@mrBored0m If you mean that users can edit the articles, that's the good thing about the site, because things get noticed that slip under the radar in a traditional encyclopedia editorial process.

Since MedK001 already pointed this out and was ignored, I will quote you and ping every single user who didn't notice.

Why am I being tagged? Also, some of those you tagged, we commented on that it was not correct, and I stated explicitly that the original poster meant the correct link, as he referred to it in more than one way.

Also, we were not commenting on the article anymore after the first chat.

@Lucifrost Ah, so we’re not allowed to post our own opinion if someone else already had the same thought? I guess from now on I’ll need to double-check the entire thread to see if someone already won the contest.
Don’t worry though—I’ll definitely make this same mistake again!

I tagged you because you failed to notice that the link is in fact correct.

@Lucifrost

The link is correct except for the fact that it leads to another page about harem because MyAnimeList excludes parentheses in URLs, this has also been commented on previously by more than one user.

That is true. It is what several users in this thread failed to notice as they accused OP of pasting the incorrect link.

The link IS not correct. I get that that is due to paranthesis, but I specifically mentioned that the original poster meant the correct link and page, when replying to someone who said it was wrong and stated that the entire post was useless. As, regardless, even if he pasted an incorrect one he meant the actual page.

Also, again, the point of our discussion was not about correct or incorrect link, that was smaller than a sentence's worth of remarks.

People can discuss and propose edits in wikipedia. OP go there and improve it. What would be a better reference? Pixiv dictionary? Good luck OP.

why do you even care about what wikipedia has to say about the harem genre? if it triggers you so much you do know that you can just go ahead and edit it yourself right

At least be bothered about something coherent

as someone who is fond of harem rom-coms, I think the article is pretty spot on. yes, it lacks citation, but that's an issue that plagues 50% of all wikipedia articels.

also, here is the link to the actual Harem as a genre page.

@Lucifrost OP is still at fault for not noticing and fixing the obviously broken link implementation.

Some time ago I checked some anime related topics on Wikipedia and they consider ANN a "reliable source" and cite them.
'nuff said.
@KanisterPaliwa In their defense (sort of) ANN used to be a reliable source. I used to use it as a source for tracking seasonals- release dates, streaming platforms, and popularity/ranking data and also (when I could find it) financial performance data. It still may be good for those metrics, but anything outside of raw numbers, no.

Maybe he noticed. If he didn't, he's no worse than the others users who failed to notice. It's not as if OP is the one who broke it. What's he supposed to do, PM a mod?

1. Check the post after creating the thread.
2. Notice the link doesn't work as intended.
3. Edit the link to make it work as intended.

OP probably failed at step 1 or 2.

Possible, but unlikely, because he didn't mention it in a follow-up post.

weebs realizing Wikipedia would rather have info on a real historical practice instead of a goddamn anime genre
@joyandhappiness I didn't get it at first too but the link they were referencing to was the one bellow Other titled "Harem genre" in the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harem#See_also. For some reason the link to access directly to the article isn't working.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harem_(genre)

it seems to be working well enough and even if OP made a mistake, the contents of the page are fine for Wikipedia, which is not considered your go-to page for information on anime.

its either a shitpost or a very stupid one

quite a silly and fun read either way

Edit: my bad
the link is really not working

@Lucifrost then why he did not immidieately made an edit to explain people he refered to as anime genre not the irl harem? I still think it is just ragebait.

Wikipedia isn’t for weebs. It’s built on historical facts and verifiable information, not fictional tales. If you want biased write-ups on anime tropes, go to a fan wiki instead.
@ZXEAN this is bait right? wikipedia is literally edited by JIDF. just look up leo frank.

It's a decent entry. Some entries have problems because not many people write on it. It quite literally acknowledges it first thing in the page.

Wiki is a volunteer project, help out if you don't like an entry. You don't even need an account, you can do so with an IP as long as the revision aligns with Wiki guidelines, usually people fail NPOV.

You realize harem is not just an anime thing, right? Matter of fact it goes FAR back, before animation even existed. Also, Wikipedia did a separate article for harem genre. Just click on the disambiguation, then click genre. Or, just search up harem genre on Wikipedia.
