moreso for reasons like you don't enjoy that episode for they're too sad or awkward

Death Note -
It's a bit sad for me cause i really felt for her and her end is just super cruel

Yugioh - Mai Vs. Marik. Scared me as a kid and i don't watch it for fun. Plus it just pisses me off

Strawberry Marshmallow - Episode 10. Not for sad or scary reasons, it's just a boring episode in general. The premise is just them trying to get to a cafe and getting distracted, the jokes don't hit.

Monster Musume - i skip much of the weird stalker arc at the end of the series
My waifu is the most wonderful waifu. Mai Valentine.

We're freaking out that we're running out of time, but to do what? Should i stop and think of that? Is there something i could do to slow it down? Live in a day for once, instead of watch it sprinting by

It might be the only clip episode of the modern era worth watching due to Fuu's perspective, but I don't find that much point in watching the recap episode of Samurai Champloo.

Used to watch recap episode with 2× speeds but now I entirely skip them unless there's some new anime original scenes in that episode

I don't skip episodes because then the list would be fake i watch every episode. If i rewatch a series if i don't feel like to watch an episode i will just put the anime on hold for a while and then i will start where i left it and pick it again.

I don't skip episodes, but if I were to pick scenes I don't really like, it would be any kind of sports related episodes honestly...Like baseball. Its not terrible, It just bores me.
Also recap episodes or filler episodes

I feel like a lot of people are answering based on a first time watch, but reading the OPs answer, it sound more like they are talking about on rewatches.

Anything exposition heavy. A good example is most of the Heavens Arena arc in HxH. It was good the first time, learning about Nen, but on rewatches, once you are already super familiar with the system, most of the arc is pretty uneventful, so I usually just skip to the Gon vs Hisoka fight.

For some series I do skip some episodes on rewatch, generally because I find said episode(s) to be boring and/or unimportant to the plot/chara developement.

The ".5" Recap episodes. If it's a Recap that is an actual episode, with the characters talking about the past events/reminiscing, I'd probably just skip through the recap parts and watch the new scenes, at least.

But during a first viewing of any show, regardless of how much I dislike one, I'd never skip an episode; it's either Drop or suffer through. xD

The episodes that take place in hot springs resorts, inns, mansions and the episodes where they overreact to food. Instant skip.

The only episodes I skip are recaps. I quickly drag the slider to different timestamps in the episode to verify whether it has any original content, and just move on to the next episode if it doesn't. Time is an ever dwindling, non-renewable resource — I'm not one for wasting it by watching the same shit I just seen in a truncated format.

Aside from recap and some filler eps,i skip certain eps that are either too sad/heartbreaking to watch for me or when an episode is boring/has some really annoying tone to it i just can't stand

I used to skip any episode where the Groke from Muumin would show up in because i was so scared of her as a child that i'd go hide behind the couch and wait for her to go away+some people told me stories of the Groke taking away children:D

There's also another example with Aho Girl where i skipped an episode because of how annoying and insufferable Yoshiko was,Yoshiko is one of my most hated characters in general due to her behavior, but that ep she pissed me off bad xD

DBZ: The Fake Namek episodes and the Garlic Jr. saga. I tend to prefer Kai's pacing for the most part but do have a soft spot for some of the original show's filler, but the Fake Namek stuff and the Garlic Jr. saga are just painful to watch as they either feel pointless in the case of Fake Namek, or in the case of Garlic Jr. make no logical sense with the continuity of the show as it is physically impossible for the Dead Zone movie to take place in the main Dragon Ball timeline due to how it diverges from continuity.

Yu-Gi-Oh: I tend to either need to skip Episode 85 of DM entirely, or skip a certain scene due to my severe acrophobia. The scene where Otogi (Duke) and Honda (Tristan) get into a fight and almost fall off the blimp and have to hang on to the rail while flying over the city is incredibly triggering of my acrophobia and sends me into a panic attack, so I tend to need to skip either that scene or the episode in rewatches. I don't really have as much issue with other instances of this in the series such as Gozabura Kaiba's death or the duel with Lumis and Umbra due to the scenes being either quick, or in the case of Lumis and Umbra where they do use some safety precautions specifically for THEM to survive since its obvious that Takahashi wasn't gonna fucking kill Yugi or Kaiba. On a less heavy note, I will sometimes skip the Virtual World arc episodes in rewatches as I really dislike how the anime added in that arc right before the Battle City finals as it kind of hurts the pacing a bit compared to the placement of other filler arcs. I also tend to skip the recap episode at the end of Battle City as I just find it rather pointless

Pokémon: I tend to watch the dub more frequently since it is easily accessible which means I am forced to skip Episodes 18, 35, 38, Holiday Hi-Jynx, 90,99, and 250 (all from the original run) due to them being pulled from all home media and streaming releases in my country. Episodes 35 and 38 were also never dubbed due to 35 being the episode with a bunch of guns in it, and 38 being the one that gave a bunch of children literal seizures in Japan. There were also a few specials from DP, BW, and one from XY that were skipped in the dub for whatever reason which also makes them a bit harder to watch.

I don't really do rewatches, and when I do I don't think I ever skip anything. I mostly do rewatches for comedies though so I guess I might skip an episode if I remember finding an episode unfunny.

"episodes you tend to skip when watching?"

Episodes which are 100% recaps. Nowadays they don't even list those for new anime on MAL, AL, AniDB and similar sites.

Why would you skip anything but recaps? Or like if there is a reason to skip episodes why not just drop it all?

Fillers in older era serialized anime since they were used back then as unoficial hiatus so I'm using guides to skip these.

Filler if its trash or recaps. There are times where I felt the need to skip some minutes of a ep bc a character that I hated appeared on screen, which may lead me to having the desire to drop the show.

Beach episodes are a must. Other than that, the obvious ones are recaps and comedy episodes

Every clip show/recap episode, and fillers obviously. Also when re-watching Bleach I skip to the Soul Society arc because the first 20 episodes are so boring imho.
