Damn, all hell breaking loose in Kyoto and no one is really safe. Hell, this episode gave Shiki a lot of responsibility. They were definitely aiming for some emotional impact this episode with how they made humans look so fragile in times like this. I think this is one of those episodes that opens up the reality of their world, and Shiki sees it. |

People were thirsting for Kuina last episode, but it's Yomogi you should keep an eye on xD Or rather said, it's hard to overlook her assets. And Tsubakiri is a twisted fuck, sweet. Time will tell if there's more to them. It's getting darker and even bloodier in more than one way. Kyoua's healing boosting blood is an ideal ability for a medic. And the depiction of the whole process was pretty cool. Can't stress it enough how each episode got me a lil bit more invested. Was really sceptical during the first one and now I'm glad I didn't drop it. Reminds me of how I turned from feeling lukewarm about Black Clover to lowkey becoming a fanboy. Tho, we still have ways to go before we reach Black Clover hype levels(doubtful about that tbh) Then again, we're only 5 episodes in and this episode cemented imo that we already got a solid base for a fun "little" battle shounen. And seeing how many chapters there are there's plenty of potenial. |

I find the reason two sides fight in the first place quite filmsy, I expect the anime to show how the oni did horrible things in the past or present to balance things out, but still... I'm not sure if it'll ever be justifiable. Anyway, this is interesting episode, I like how this anime goes to different route than what I expect from a typical shounen formula, and the animation quality doesn't get worse. |

It's so completely ridiculous that it just detracts from the scene as a whole. Like I expect fanservice in fighting shounen, it's always there. I usually just ignore it. But it was so over-the-top that the "creepy" antagonist just felt like a joke because about 1/3 of the screen was tits the whole time. Someone please get that woman a goddamn reduction, I feel so bad for her back. |

@DedPanda Well, that's another Netflix L. And lol, it's kinda funny. These extreme designs go well with everything else that's over the top. I mean, you would be better off to note take this anime too seriously. That's at least how I watch this stuff. |

Some comments here reminded me on how Michael Bay once commented that he had to make CGI explosions because real explosions weren't thought as "realistic" when seen by the audience. Similarly, there was also a cut scene on Gladiator where a gladiator makes product placement: Something that happened IRL but would be thought as farfetched by the audience. Yes, our villains look exaggeratedly evil, but technically they're just doing standard genocidal behavior: Dehumanization, war crimes, even against children, and having their peers turning a blind eye because "It's all for a greater cause". That psychopaths thrive in such environment is, if something, expected. It might sound of bad taste me saying this but: This is happening in our world right now. |

Wow, this episode was quite intense, it went dark quite quickly. They literally showed Tsubakiri and Yomogi beating up and killing a child my smashing it with a bunch of corpses... Honestly, that scene was chilling, when you see the child crying, and thinking he would get away, to just show Tsubakiri right besides him. So they did all that speech knowing that child was still hearing them, just horrible. Momotarou don't really seem like "good" people as they are portrayed in the legends. Shiki and the other are taken to the support unit, to help those that need treatment, and we get to know Kyouya, the captain of said unit, that seems to be quite the character. Calling Mudano "Danny" was funny not gonna lie. As the usual trope, they quickly comprehend the importance of the support unit in the lives of those that almost died in combat. Kyouya also showcases his abillities, that are certainly quite useful for this unit, no wonder he's the captain. Shiki also tries to take care of Mei, that was in shock after coming into contact with the Momotarou, and doesn't know where her parents are, just for their corpses to appear at the unit, that was brutal too. And if that wasn't enough, all those corpses were a trap made by Tsubakiri (I was finding strange how all of those corpses were intact, after how they showed Tsubakiri's victims earlier in the episode), filled with his black bacteria, and they made the corpse of Mei's father to almost kill her by chocking her... This anime went for the shock factor this episode. Mudano was seem to be able to hold up his own against Tsubakiri, but the question is, how is the support unit going to hold up with those 30 bodies controled by Tsubakiri? I fear things are going to get ugly next episode... I'm really excited to see what's happening next week! Also, I found it interesting that the black thing we saw the Momotarou use really are bacteria. However, the fan service on this anime is brutal honestly... But I must say, I feel like this episode is starting to show a bit more of Tougen Anki's own color, and I'm really liking that, even if I find that they are using the Shounen tropes well so far. |

This is kinda similar to Blue Exorcist's Kyoto arc in which the students travel to Kyoto for support against a larger threat. In Tougen Anki's case, the students are helping Kyouya with the oni who are mortally wounded by the Momotarou attack. That Tsubakiri guy is basically making zombies out of those oni corpses and it's bad enough that Oni brought those corpses back to their base like a Trojan horse. Meanwhile Naito is holding his own against Tsubakiri, but now his students are vulnerable to a surprise attack. I'm definitely liking this show more than Gachiakuta. |

I gotta agree about the fanservice, because let's be real here it'd be one thing if it was just one character, but it's not all the female characters so far have had gigantic chests and thighs, no variety in the body types at all. Plus their chests aren't just big, they're freaking massive, so it stands out even more. Let's compare Tsunade from Naruto the villain blonde girl. One of the main things about Tsunade is that she has largest chest of the Naruto cast, it's an intentional design choice and yet is far is still less distracting. Plus honestly the girls heads just don't match with their bodies that makes it worse. |

So his bacteria can levitate heads and make both bodies and heads move according to his will (in the parking garage looking place), but when the brain is destroyed he somehow can no longer control the body?? Like why not? How is destroyed brain more of a challenge than no brain? How is the brain involved at all when he can make heads float? When so much of the run time has the sounds of people screaming in agony or terror your show needs to be that much better to make up for it. It doesn't make sense that they let this happen though. They already knew the villain guy had powers that let's him manipulate corpses, you'd think have some sort policy or preventative measures for dealing corpes incase he did anything to them. |

I'm actually enjoying this anime quite a lot, but if there's an aspect I'm not enjoying is this excessive point in characters design, it's just, well... excessive, and makes it look unserious (which I don't think is the objective of the author, since this isn't a parody or something). |
