Unless Julius gets a huge personality change, I just can't find him likable in this show.

At least there's Mia and this episode gave her some time to spend with him. With the demon threat coming, this episode felt like a buildup. Philia and Oswald were able to bond more so that's a sweet thing to see.

Julius was being too idiotic and rotten beyond any help. At this point, nothing could help him at all, absolutely nothing. Only tragic death awaits him.

Julius is truly insufferable—it was so hard to listen to his BS every time he was on screen. I’d honestly enjoy the gore scene of him being devoured by monsters limb from limb with some popcorn. He's so disgusting that I doubt any woman would want him as her husband—hell, I doubt even men would want to be his partner. The way he's against women telling men what to do, yet sends a woman to fight for him and his kingdom, then has the nerve to blame Philia for abandoning him when he was the one who sold her off.

So we already have a demon, or maybe there are more demons in this world, and it's funny that he works for the church. This Archdemon Asmodeus is the one Philia saw on the day she created the Great Purification Circle.

Philia is surrounded by such loving people in Parnakorta who care for her needs and interests and don't want her to struggle. If it weren't for her, the king of Jiltonia would’ve been dead a long time ago. I wouldn't be surprised if his declining health is also part of Julius's scheme.

With how much Mia loathes Julius, she struggles with the saintly way she once admired, having always wished to be like Philia. But with Himari's words to remain true to herself and be honest, Mia took those to heart and decided to keep on hating Julius, expose his rotten schemes, and completely break him.

Need to see Prince Julius brutally murdered. Has there ever been a more insecure misogynistic pos than this guy? “Physical beauty is all a woman needs” “I don’t take orders from women” grgh just watching this episode made my stomach turn. Mia is way better than I because I wouldn’t even be able to keep the charade up. Can’t wait to see her own style of justice carried out.

Bro needs to get the Simon from A rank party treatment. Eternal punishment. There’s just no redeeming him. Even after everything she said last week, Mia still tried throwing him a line to potentially redeem himself and he just doubled down on insulting Philia, getting upset that Mia won’t just sit still and be pretty and even hiding behind his own “fiancée” during a fight. Insecure small men need women to be weaker than them so they can feel better about themselves. Dude’s even trying to get rid of his own dad and brother 🤢

Compare that POS to how Oswald not only values Philia’s input on things, but seeks it out and directly acts on it even against the advice of his council. Behind every great man is a great woman!

Like I thought, demons are definitely playing on his insecurity and running things behind the scenes as we saw in the Pyrz scene, but I’m wondering who were the other people we saw earlier in the ep 🤔

Glad Mia had finally realized she doesn’t need to be like her sister. You can dish out your own brand of justice and Julius needs to suffer 👌🏾 can’t wait to see how this ends

there is no redemption for Julius, if they do I'm dropping my score. he at minimum deserves to be stripped of power and banishment. would love to see him torn apart by monsters the best.

Mia is out for blood, she will not be satisfied until she has Prince Julius groveling at her feet for forgiveness and frankly the misogynistic little shit deserves nothing less.

@Shibaroo My guess for what will happen to Julius is:
Whatever happens it will most likely be satisfying!

Things are heating up with Prince Julius seemingly(?) going to uncage some sort of immense evil 😬 I feel kind of worried for the Panna Cotta knights that are being sent to the Kingdom, and hope they'll be ok (as well as Mia).

Was less of a Philia focused episode, but was cool with the intense Mia ending, even if she won't just assassinate Julius.

Interested to see any politician machinations next time with the first Prince or (as seems to be from the trailer) whether he'll be held back by trauma instead 😬

I saw many people suggest that Panarcorta should ignore a request to return Philia, and I'm glad that the anime doesn't go that way, because that'd be plain stupid. Demon anywhere is a threat to human everywhere. At least Oswald realized this and send help as much as possible without sending Philia herself, for now, but I assume in the near future Philia's gonna decide by herself on this matter, when she successfully train her pupil to temporary replace her.

Julius is being manipulated by demon so I blame the demon.

Another great episode. I like how they used scenes from LN Volume 2, introducing Daemon Lord and Church.

How funny is that Julius continue to blame Philia for everything, even though she's out of his hair long time ago, just what's wrong with this supposed child prodigy?

Mia continue her reveage of younger sister routine, and hopefully she can succeed and bring down Julius

That dumb prince is going to doom this country... It's a good thing they have Mia working against him now. As much as a lot of them deserve what's coming for how they treated Philia, there are still innocents there who deserve her protection.

In hindsight, it's funny how the idiot prince could have had everything he wanted if he had kept the brilliant but passive Philia at his side. After how she had been raised, she only kept doing her job, never interfering in his plans - other than trying to cure the king, at least. But now he has a vengeful Mia there actively working to take him down for all he's done (and is still doing). :D

6 episodes in and nobody thought to talk to the actual heir? He’s locked up? King is a good guy but allows that? Confusing…
Some nice character building so far, a somewhat generic buildup to a demon invasion but with fairly original defence against that. Lots to like, but a few things that you just have to pretend not to notice.

I get that, but now he's going to release a demon, and there will likely be collateral damage. There's a point at which revenge and/or redemption just aren't worth it any more.

Besides, they have a spare prince. And since he's a shut-in, he wouldn't even interfere with Mia fixing the kingdom.

No surprise as usual that Mia's character development and revenge is carrying this whole show on her back again this episode and keeping this above the level of a mid tier anime. Julius is as dumb and incomprehensibly bratty as ever by making the stupidest decisions and having the facts laid in his face and still doesn't understand. Philia is still a really underwhelming main character with not much to speak of, seriously it's almost as if Mia is supposed to be the main character or something considering how much better her character development and screen time is.

@luinthoron It's basically the saying "death is too easy a punishment for what they've done", if he dies then he doesn't have to pay for anything he did to Philia, surely Mia wouldn't let that happen, she needs her revenge.

It looks like this will be like 2 MCs. Philia who is a saint and develops emoticon, and Mia who is a politician for revenge. I thought it would be nice if the stupid prince had to suffer first instead of dying straight away. And the first prince looked pitiful, how the emperor let him be locked up by the stupid prince faction.

Ferdinand and Mia. That's what's going to happen in Girtonia.

We don't want violence, right?

Meanwhile, in Parnacorta, Philia is worried her sister is turning to the dark side.

This guy, Julius, reminds me of this other guy, Simon, from the series where a Clover has who knows how many leaves now.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

@Omnime I only read manga, cannot say anything for LN. But from what I remember manga covers entire LN V1 and it now started covering V2.

The Daemon and girl do not appear in manga, so they are perhaps from V2. That also goes for main daemon lord being mentioned and that lord being controlled by him.

It looks like anime will be made in a way to incorporate entire V1 and some of V2. Since by this pace V1 will be completed by episode 9 or 10.

2/5 episode.

As much as people find Mia more compelling and I like her too, I find Prince Julius as too weak and so compelling a villain. If Mia takes revenge on him, the pay off wouldn't feel so good. He's just the caricature of a sexist as well as an out of touch royal.

If Julius were a fraction as good of a villain as Nowak from Orb, I will cheer watching this revenge subplot. The problem is it's lame.

It seems that Julius would be possessed by the demon lord once he unseals it, and he might become a more compelling villain. But for now, he should just bugger off. I want more Philia scenes.

ETA: How dumb the citizens of Ziltonia must be. It seems they had appreciated St Philia at first, but they hate her during Episode 1.

Either this is an inconsistency, or a result of propaganda by Prince Julius. They saw how skilfull she was, yet they had the nerve to dislike her just because she doesn't smile?

Decent episode. Speechless about Julius. Excited to see what roles both Erza & Mammon will play going forward. Loving Philia's character development so far. Last but not least, super excited for Fernand's debut, especially because he's supposedly confined, even though he's supposedly Julius's older brother.

This would make him the original crown prince with higher authority, not Julius, so I'm confused as to why the situation is the way it is right now. Hope we get some explanations in the upcoming episode, since Fernand seems like a chill dude so far. Hope he ain't anything like his younger brother, Julius.

Great ep

While this wasn't a Philia centered ep, but a Mia one, it was very entertaining. Nice Philia and Oswalt moment.

Seeing her growing resolve as made me love her character so much more.

As for the prince, he gotta go, the writers have really done a great job in making me hate him. Unredeemable at all.

Assuming this is the older brother of the prince, will he be of any use?

9.5/10

The naivete of all the characters are astounding.
Mia is all talk, Plilia a goody two-shoes, Julius a scum and Oswald along with his whole nation turning into a pushover.
A country being manhandled by a single prince supposedly due to his faction, where his whole faction is never seen, let alone any opinions from their side.
A "lifeline of a country' saint smooching with her enemy and waiting for a grand closure while things get worse and possibility of annihilation.
No hint of rationality or diplomacy till now, and it's already halfway through the series.
I don't understand how it's rated PG-13 when its appropriate audience imo is below 13 lol.

Honestly? It's absolutely believable. Ever asked a woman how she feels about being told to smile? Because most of them seem to have some pretty loud opinions on the matter. There's this whole thing about women smiling, being approachable, and the like. So Mia struggling because she refuses to conform? Absolutely something I can understand.

Back in Girtonia, Mia having to fend herself against Prince Julius's wishful thinking, and with the trouble from the Demon Realm incoming, having to have the ailing King interfere within a moment's notice to sink in the trouble further, she has no choice but to continue playing the facade game to drive the fact that his kingdom is in danger, and if he doesn't come out of his inferiority complex, nothing will be done, even more from the Church sending both Erza Notice and her demon familiar Mammon to investigate the situation further. There is a way for him to acquire power by digging deep into Saint Fianna's treasure with the help of Marquis Pyrz, though it's clear that he's under some sort of demonic influence.

To make matters worse, the letters from Mia via Himari only paints Girtonia's worst pictures yet, though it hinges on Philia having to make everything work within a short span of time. The work that the older sister has done before the younger sister, despite criticisms from all sides of the corner, Mia acknowledges Philia's efforts, yet feels helpless that she could not have done much to ascertain Philia's name, even more now that she's no longer in Girtonia.

Mia's sortie to correct Girtonia starting from Crown Prince Fernand, let's hope that it pays off to finally give Julius the karma induced upon him.

So... when do we get to the part that the 2nd Prince is dead?

Dude literally called Philia "girls are just a sex toy for her body"....

Tho... I don't think Mia is going to try and kill the 2nd prince, since she had multiple chances to kill the guy.

Honestly... I am low key rooting for the demons to destroy that shitty country. But I still do hope Mia can get out of there...

Mia should have just escaped with the Ninja girl... this shitty country isn't worth saving at all. If you want revenge, just let them die, it's that easy. (don't even need the ninja girl to do the job, the 2nd prince is already killing themselves)

Also, Mia wondering about what sort of Saint she wants to become... but that doesn't mean you are chained to only be in this one shitty country, Philia is literally in another country... Mia could have done the same.
