The movie she is trapped in must be the worst movie ever made. Everyone dies, the hero is really the bad guy, and the world ends. What was the point of it?
And now she can't change anything and heroes are dying again, this better have one hell of a twist ending.

Finally Luke told Natsuko that he likes her, but the situation is very bizarre.

Something that I don’t like in this anime is that the scene of Natsuko (that effect from almost the end of episode) is repeating every time.

It was cute hearing Luke's inner thoughts about his feelings for Natsuko and I should have known that QJ's conversation about the Tale of Perishing with Natsuko was going to be a death flag especially with him surviving the original movie. What we are seeing is a bit of a role reversal between Luke and Natsuko in which Natsuko is going to be the one going through the emotional turmoil while Luke provides emotional support. Does this mean that the Natsuko's ending to Tale of Perishing will be darker than the original? We will see with three episodes left.

RIP QJ

Somebody actually fucking dies. The show isn't afraid to take risks, and it's subverting my expectations with each episode as the story gets even better and better.

Damn, that was a great episode. Prior to this one, I didn't think I cared about QJ at all. I was wrong. This episode hit me in the feels. This show's score is low enough to call it underrated, I think. I've bumped my score up a point. Hoping it can keep up the momentum it has built the last few episodes. I've been fully into this once Natsuko actually became likeable.

Also, the way this episode finished was pretty ominous. It feels like the story is playing out like before, but with the key difference that Natsuko and Luke have swapped roles. Natsuko going into despair over QJ's death for not being able to draw. It feels like she is on the path to becoming the ultimate void in place of Luke. Another ominous relation is the voids reproducing her drawings. I don't know how it will go, but that is what it felt like to me.

One more note...goddamn A Tale of Perishing is depressing, lol. What a way to end a movie. I hope in the future we get an OVA, special or movie of A Tale of Perishing. That would be pretty dope.

My thoughts exactly on both QJ and The Tale of Pershing's ending.
It does look like Natsuko's on the path to take Like's place as the ultimate void.

I'm curious about the world's makeup still. is it basically just the movie where the timeline is set in stone or is it somehow its own world after the movie wrote it into being Re:Creator's style?

He was one of my favorites giving advice and helping all the characters out with their problems. We also now see that her actions are consequences and she has to deal with them. It makes me wonder even more what the ending will be!!

NOOOOOOOOO QJ!!!!!!

I actually liked him a lot man.

Crazy episode.. I'm really glad I started this anime honestly. I almost didn't start it at all but im so glad.
Natsuko is starting to like Luke but honestly, I feel like this can only end badly... If she is replacing Justice in love... then what else she is she going to replace her with... I dread to think about that one scene... please don't come to fruition ;(.

QJ is a hero!
He was supposed to be the only one left alive at the end of the movie but decided to sacrifice himself. Natsuko went panic mode but the paper she threw away was still effective at blocking missiles. Maybe she doesn't necessarily need to draw a masterpiece and that's the point?
Things are getting desperate. I wonder if the bird/author is the one making voids stronger by copying Natsuko. She's always watching after all.
@Sigmar-Unberogen Ohhh interesting theory.. maybe she also has the power to draw things into existence? or something similar.. I forget what her power actually is now. Either way, very plausible that its all her doing. It makes sense that she would learn from her and copy her work.

How will Natsuko fight off voids now, she has to start thinking of how to counter her own creations or well now what could the general theme be about moving forward..?

the Voids used to be easy to counter but now what happens if they start outleveling you faster than you can draw?

If the story will end as originally envisioned albeit through a different route, what's the point of watching this?

I am under the impression that Natsuko is supposed to redo everything so the story has a happy ending.

I am expecting Natsuko to learn many new experiences: adventure, friendship, companionship, joy, doubt, pity, love, loss, grief, etc. In short, to become at least human enough to write about human experience.

@LordCrueltyV I hope that's the case, and there's still a glimmer of hope that the director is wrong. I'm also hoping that this is just a dream that will enable her to write the love story she was unable to do in episode 1.

Another AMAZING episode!!! This one got me a bit teary eyed, QJ NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ Such a valiant sacrifice from QJ knowing the huge burden that Natsuko was feeling. He analyzed the situation and figured this was the best thing he could do to keep all of this own friends safe.

That said, whats very interesting is in the original movie, QJ was the only one who made it to the end of the movie before Luke destroyed the world; but now, QJ is the first, out of the remaining heroes, that died. Does this mean that his sacrifice can help Natsuko change the future and make it a happy ending? I HOPE SO!!! Rest In Peace QJ๐Ÿ™

Overall, very good episode and looking forward to the next one!

Nahh...not the stereotypical black man in anime ๐Ÿ˜ญ

He's truly down bad for Natsuko and its so damn cute. I love everything he does for Natsuko. Luke genuinely loves Natsuko, its so real and pure. I wish more anime had this type of love in it. He's truly anime's best boy of all time.

Rip our boy, QJ. That shit hurted.

Turning the story onto Luke's perspective, which the Nine Soldiers are countered down to 4 and with only one Soul Future left, it's easy to fall into depression for the once revered Legendary hero...

Well, that is until he met Natsuko and has his life changed inside out. Ideally, his sense of love is just figuring out that he could be comfortable around her, as well as being jealous when other people get close to her, and when it comes to the crunch, bear his life to fight for her. As expected, Natsuko is also feeling the same fluttering feelings, but as QJ purses her to understand Luke's demise, which were the original combination of factors that led him to abandon the Nine Soldiers for Destiny, and her killing meant that the final Soul Future also had to go, paving the way for the Ultimate Void. And Natsuko's role in the movie itself, to create her own fanfic happy future, QJ reassures that with Natsuko around, the world still has a chance to change.

The Void attack this time reeks of imitation as Luke and the group face an extermination of Natsuko's copy-paste drawings, and Natsuko is forced to come up with something original as the movie scene comes to life. But when Natsuko's desk is destroyed, the ultimate sacrifice of QJ withholding her secret to be the first of the remainder to die, it's the first change of roles...for bad, or for worse.

Natsuko's quickly becoming her own fan-fic of the Ultimate Void this time...

With QJ sacrificing himself and with him being the only one that stayed alive until the end in the original story, this present storyline is now permanently changed. Regarding Natsuko, assuming this is all in a dream and she's in a coma, I think this will end up being another lesson or human experience like the bit of romance she experienced in the previous episode.

Okay i straight up cried. I was thinking, did QJ sacrefice himself, because Natsuko told her that he's the only survivor in the original stroy, so to reverse it, he gave his life in hope that this time no one else gets to die?

QJ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ noo... The way QJ cared so deeply for Natsuko-san... the way he tried to bring light to her darkest moments... the way she let her guard down with him... and the way he pulled a laugh out of her ๐Ÿ˜ญ QJ never once doubted her — he poured his hopes into Natsuko, I’m sure he saw something special in her... I truly loved that character. His voice, his presence... it meant so much. I never saw this coming... </3
