| @BR5N Hello! I'll try to keep it simple, but if you have more questions feel free to ask So for all three events: The idea is that you first sign-up then the elves find you someone you make a gift for and someone who will make you a gift. The details on how that works are all explained in private messages by the elves so you don't have to worry. Now for the three you can sign-up: 1. Anime recommendations: You give an anime recommendation to your recipient and you receive one back from a Santa. 2. Manga recommendations: Same as above, but with manga. 3. Images: Images is a bit different. You have to edit a picture so your recipient can use it as an avatar for example and your Santa make you one. There are a lot of options to pick from here: I know it sounds a bit complicated, but you don't need to be an expert! Make sure you read the first post on the sign-up pages, it should clear a few things up! |

| I’ve never done one of these before and I might do it this year. How do you know who’s an elf? I read above that you have to send the gift to an elf not the recipient of said gift. And how much do you need to write about the show/movie/manga before sending it? I would just like to know as much info as I can before going forward is all 😅 |

Too much time in Santa's Workshop went to trying to ensure all gifts met a minimum level of quality. going forward, all gifts need to be a minimum of 700 characters long and emphasis will be placed on a nice, genuine message over a persuasive one." So there's no minimum you really need about what you're recommending. It's more about writing a nice and thoughtful letter to your recipient. | @Zekkenshin Hopefully someone with experience can chime in later, but for starters: You’ll be matched with someone around your skill level, so don’t feel too intimidated! Just having a program with a layers feature & learning how to remove the background from an image will put you around an intermediate tier. |

| @MrMatteo I'm a little confused on what you mean and I'm not too sure about the details as I haven't parcipated in this the last 2 years but essentially: You sign up for the event(s) with the fields given to you, try to fill a decent amount of information into the form so that your santa has at least some information to go off when finding you a gift, but don't put too much and overwhelm them. For this you'll need to have watched or read at least a certain amount of anime or manga to have something you can recommend to your recipient. I think your anime list amount is enough but not too sure on the manga end. Once thats done, mods/elf might edit or ask you to edit your sign up form in case theres any issues or unclear points. This is just to make sure your message is concise and easy to understand for anyone as MAL has users all over the world, speaking different languages so maybe someone that's not the best at English wouldn't understand your message or you might not be able to get your points across. After the confirmation, you get assigned a recipient (and someone is assigned you as their recipient) and you work on a gift recommendation for them, this was 1-3 recommendations last time I participated. You then send over the gift to an elf who will contact you, they run some final checks on it(make sure it's what the recipient wants, add or remove some details (maybe you didn't give enough explanations or maybe accidentally put in a spoiler) and then ship it off to the recipient in time for christmas. Being a good santa simply means you are qualified for the event, follow MAL guidelines, put effort into your gift, cooperate with the elves when needed and give a good gift. |

Make sure to read the questions carefully and answer the four fields on that page before clicking next. One of them requires you to write a number, but if you read carefully, the answer is in plain sight 😉 |
