Well it's been 60 years now. So when they put me in the box, they better add a DVD player and my extensive collection.

As long as I don't lose my eyesight in old age, I think watching anime is still very entertaining, just like watching any movies or TV shows.
@ProGoddess I had a stroke a couple years back, and pretty much was legally blind. I was still "watching" anime. I was just doing dubs instead of subs.

Respect the grind and the hustle.

I'd like to watch anime until I literally can't anymore. I've been casually grinding for a time. Keeping that casual grind alive for the rest of my time would be nice.

I have no idea, if some better activity or hobby comes up I could quit tomorrow, gaming already takes a lot of time from anime when I feel to.
Even if I want to watch them until the end of the days I may not have enough free time.

I've been through different parts of my life and still find myself coming back to watch anime. No matter what part of the world I'm in, hobbies I've picked up, people I've met, and how I've felt throughout my life so far, I came back to watch anime...

HOw long... hmm. Both my daughter and I love our anime and it gives us something cool to do together, so it's a win/win. Besides, I'm already pushing sixty, so at this point why would I bother stopping?

Are you able to read the subtitle? If so, then you still have your eyesight. Perhaps not as clear?

@ProGoddess I couldn't for a couple years, But then I got hooked up with an amazing eye doctor. He couldn't do much with my left eye, I am permanantly blind there. But he fixed up my right eye to good as new. 20-30 with no glasses needed to drive. So I am back to doing subs again. It's only very, very rarely a dub can match a sub. Although right now I am just finishing up Ghost Stories dubbed, and it's been hysterical. I couldn't make it through 3 eps of the sub.

I'm sorry to hear about your condition, but I'm glad that you still have a good eye. Depending on one eye to read can be straining. Try and take breaks in between.

I have watched Ghost Stories some time ago in dubbed too.

Umm, probably 'till the day I die xD.

I come from a family of otaku, so I've been watching anime before I can remember (well over twenty years ago). Thankfully I had a wide variety of anime even at a VERY young age due to that, beyond stuff that was airing on TV or properly localized in the 2000's. Some of my family members were fansubbers themselves or would get their anime off IRC or shady clients.

Anime is more than just media I watch at this point and has genuinely affected my life. It's my special interest in that way, too. There are anime that have changed my mindset, my lifestyle, my life goals, and I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. I also think anime as a medium can be emotionally transformative or even a form of catharsis for me. So I'm very grateful for the existence and presence of anime in my life and it's something I truly value on a mental, spiritual, emotional and growth level.

There's also the variety of perspectives to experience anime for. I mean, sometimes I'm in the mood for a good story with intrigue, while other times I just really am in a feel-good mood and watch a CGDCT or ecchi which warms my heart. So being able to go to anime for different emotional and mental experiences is also part of its appeal.

Good question and thanks for the thread :)

Sorry to say though, my kids are DEFINITELY inheriting my shit taste XD

Forever, I'm sure. Why's that? Well...

Anime has probably the only constant in my life for the 10 years since I started. It's not necessarily anime shows themselves, which I've often gone months without watching, but also manga, art on Pixiv and such, and just cute anime girls in general.

Anime is the only kind of media that (usually) focuses and lives in the realm of cuteness. That's something I really, really need in life. I love adorable things and going without it would make me feel like I'm missing something essential. For me, it's the cuteness that is the main selling point - not the stories, the settings, the tropes - but just seeing cute girls do cute things.

I watch movies and shows from many different countries so I will probably keep watching anime for as long as I am able to. I am probably sure though I will stop wasting time with seasonals or mid shows one day when my completionist tendency finally dies

No idea probably until part 9 is animated and no game no life receiving season 2 and 3. Or when Araki is introduced to temple of legend for contribution to the humanity and his name is preserved for all eternity with all JoJo like stuff with the criterion collection.

If crunchyroll decide to drop detective Conan then I will think about stopping.
They didn't stream episode 1141 and I fear the worst.
the episode 1141 of detective Conan is available in France paid streaming services animation-digtal-network.
That's really screwed up mate @crunchyroll

I'm in my 50s, I draw cartoons as a hobby, I have many friends who either draw manga-inspired webcomics or work as anime voice actors... most likely I'm gonna die watching it.
