Yhwach is just relentless this season, not caring whoever or whatever stands in his way and the Soul King. We finally get a more open confrontation between Uryu an Ichigo. I think it's the highilght of the episode because of the emotional weight it carried. Others like Lille were also dangerous threats too but felt like Uryu vs Ichigo is more important. |

Took long enough but finally after so long we finally get the long awaited shown between Ichigo and Uryu. And yeah, that OST playing the back while the whole scene of them talking was so fucking good. Had that very classic Bleach feel to it. Then we get an actual fight between them WTF??? Don't remember that being the manga for sure. Has to be canon as well because Uryu used his Quincy cross. And yeah, you know it's serious when Ganju the goat joins into the fight /s. But yeah, that fight with Uryu and Ichigo was so fucking good. Animation was pretty good as well. But yeah, RIP Ichigo, I guess. Dude has joined the infamous donut club xD But yep. Reio's arm only lasted a good episode it seems lmao. Yhwach is actually just unstoppable now. |

Man, Ichigo’s life really is something else. I mean, back then it was Aizen who gave him the dialogue of knowing every bit of his actions and them always being done for his favour, and now yeah, Yhwach is doing the same. But then again, he’s the main guy, and IchiGOAT, so it really doesn’t matter much. Though you know, one of the main cons of being a main guy is that you’ve “friends”, and you care a lot about these “friends” of yours. Always the characters voiced by Sasuke’s VA who runs away from his friends, and yeah then these friends doing everything to get him back lol. Uryu is the newest addition, and yeah, dude betrayed them hard. Loved every bit of action we had between Ichigo and Uryu, and I mean, you don’t need to actually state the obvious every time, as they again did the damn job with the action scenes. When staff actually knows what they’re doing, you get something like this. Feel for Ichigo and lot, but yeah, that’s the part of the plot, so gotta deal with it. Btw, feels like the end but it isn't lol. |

I love all the additions and changes. They're actually rewriting a lot of things too and not just flat out adding things. Every single episode feels like a movie. The animation during the fight was jaw-dropping |

I could say didn't have much going in this episode, being mostly Yhwach and Mimihagi doing some arm-wrestling, and Ichigo not checkmating Uryu twice. Uryu:The Soul Reapers took everything from me. Uryu's mother that was killed by Yhwach plan: I'm a joke to you. Or anyone else: Your father is Quincy, and is living pretty well, from what looks like. |

Alright guys, calm down. I'm here. I have finally emerged from my slumber to rate the new Bleach TYBW episode. 3.5/5 I think a lot of the moments were too drawn out and much of the episode could have been told in 2/3rds the time. Uryu's vollstandig ability reminds me of Jirobo's shikai (he was the first shinigami the crew met in soul society). It's a little lame looking if I'm being honest. Also a lot of jarring inconsistencies with the art. It was like two different styles were smacked together. When high animation began, the art completely changed, then when it ended, same thing. Art change. I don't like how the episode began with a minute and a half recap. A lot of people complained that last episode began abruptly with Ukitake proclaiming he will stabilize the worlds. What was in this week's recap could have been cut from last week's episode, allowing last week's episode to begin in a more organic fashion. I'm not too hung up on this because I read the manga but it still came to mind. If the rumors are true and we are getting 14 episodes this cour vs 13, then I don't mind the more drawn out scenes and recaps as much. That's still yet to be 100% confirmed though. It's easy to pick out what I don't like because I have already read the manga and enjoyed the series. I still really enjoy this adaptation and I do like a lot of the new additions. I really like how Ishida was carefully explaining his ambition and intent to Ichigo. It's a great double entendre. He is not lying to the sternritter or to the shinigami. You really need to know who Ishida is to understand his goal. When he says he will enact revenge on the one who took everything from him, it's easy to think it's against the shinigami for taking his grandfather. But who Ishida is really talking about is his mother, who was taken away by Yhwach during the aushwalen. |

Uryu lucks out that Ichigo is too emotional and didnt decide to wipe him out with his 2 clear chances, and thats without him using hollow or bankai powers. Uryu is alot better than he was in the manga by a mile so its being a good watch for that alone. The fight with Chad, Orihime and Ganju against the others was a little funny just because they was actually thinking they could fight them as if Gerrard wouldn't solo those 3 bums. I would like less scenes of Orihime and Chad just standing saying "ichigo" or stuff though |

Nah... Uryu's betrayal of his own friends and especially Ichigo is quite idiotic if I do say so myself. BOTH of their mothers died due to Yhwach's auswählen and BOTH of their fathers are alive and well. Hell, they even know each other and are in the same line of work. Other than that, this episode is amazing as always! The spotlight is now between Uryu and Ichigo. Their fight sequence was beautifully animated, I particularly love how the fight initially stated in the building before Ichigo took the fight outside in midair. Despite Uryu's spam-like attacks, Ichigo has dealt with attacks with a more insane proportions, deflecting those arrows were nothing if not for Ichigo holding back. Ichigo could've stuck down and incapacitated Ishida after the latter was taken aback when he saw that Ichigo was innately capable of utilizing blut, something only a Quincy should usually have. Even AFTER Uryu unleashes his vollständig which looks absolutely immaculate by the way, he was really only able to slightly put a bit of pressure on Ichigo who is still in his default shikai form all this time, WITHOUT bankai or his hollow visor mask. The real showcase of their power is shown when Uryu and Ichigo unleash their most powerful attack against one another. Vollständig + Sternenstaub vs Non-Bankai, Non-Hollow Visor Getsuga Jujisho. And oh boy is the difference in power incomparable. The Getsuga Jujisho quite literally eats through Uryu's attack and pieces through it before continuously blasting across the sky past the horizon. As Uryu himself said, Ichigo is just too naive and too kind for his own good that he'd go so far as to hold back and restrain himself from directly attacking Uryu which ultimately leads to Ichigo's Skyfall. |

Being SHOOK™️ by anything Ishida does at this point, after all this time, after everything that's happened, is just... tiresome, I swear. Soundtrack also felt incredibly random at times, I was looking around to find wth else was playing in the background. |

Ichigo vs Uryuu… a much better fight in the anime compared to manga, Chengxi Huang really is one of the best when it comes to animation, I hope we see more of him in future episodes. However, episode ended with Yhwach absorbing the Soul King, which means the Ukitake sacrifice was completely useless… which pisses me of, yes I’m a Bleach fan but there are still some issues within this arc that I don’t think are fine. I’m probably going to enjoy the next episode a lot more, even if the animation is not as great as this one. Nice poem by Aizen tho. |

Yet again, another episode that felt like it was only 5 minutes long. Just cinema, week after week. Finally we get the long-awaited showdown between Ichigo and Ishida, and it didn’t disappoint. What can I say that hasn’t already been said, by me or by anyone else in here, yea the animation was gorgeous. That’s basically become the expectation every week at this point, and I’d expect nothing less from an episode like this one. Bleach’s music continues to be a highlight, the OST just never fails to hit. And damn, what a way to end the episode. Obviously Ichigo has “main character” protection so this won’t be the end for him, but still, seeing him become a donut was still shocking. Now for the painful week-long wait for the next episode. |
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime. Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait. MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol. |

@neffst3r If Ukitake didn't sacrifice himself, the world would've ended. Notice how the world didn't shake anymore after Mimihagi used its ability on the Soul King? That was the whole purpose of Ukitake sadly. It's not something epic but just a way to force the villain to delay their plan to give more time for the heroes. |

Love the extended fight between Ishida and Ichigo. Also like the change of the visuals regarding how ishida hits Ichigo with the final arrow. If I recall correctly, in the manga it felt very underwhelming when Ishida stopped Lile and instead shot his own arrow that barely did anything. The anime actually made it more convincing. Despite the seriousness, Perninda being adorable was kinda funny lol with how he got "rescued" by Gerard as if he was helpless and the way he disappeared and got swallowed by the ability Ganju used. Very short moments but it sticked with me |

Ishida vs Ichigo has started and it was pretty good. Captain Ukitake is still fighting as Right Arm of Soul King and trying to stabilize the worlds. Everybody's playing their part in this fight. Ishida showed his resolve and took down Ichigo with his ultimate attack. As for Ichigo, things are not looking good for anyone who's against Quincies. Soul King seems like he's been taken over by Yhwach. This could mean the end for all of them if something's not done quickly. |

Ichigo vs Uryu fight was very good ... Despite the Ep name is The Betrayer , there is a moment when Uryu finally shoots down Ichigo with an arrow [ don't worry Ichigo will be fine ], there was a eye stare moment between Uryu and Jugram Haschwalth[ he is second in command of Quincy Army] which kinds of resemble and tech. confirms [ that Uryu didn't kill Ichigo and Uryu is about to do something that may turn the tides of War ..].. So yeah Great episode.. 9/10 ...... |

@neffst3r So what? If people are that eager to know why the King's state is the way it is, they can wait for the CFYOW adaptation. Heck, maybe more questions will be answered in the upcoming episodes. Let's be patient. So far, each episode includes about 50% original content, there are also more than 20 episodes left. @lucjan - This "style shift" happens across many anime productions, especially during scenes of action. Episodes often have different animation teams with varying art styles depending on the scene. - Uryu's ‘Voll Stern Dich’ shown in the episode was only recently awakened and he has yet to fully utilise it in general + it's true power. However I think it fits his personality very well. Him being precise, disciplined. Also calculating every move and adapting his strategies. Just the way anyone depicts Uryu. |

@talhariaz And I have to disagree, but thats your questionable opinion. And then again, most people who don't like something don't keep watching it, yet apparently you're still at it. Your overall standards... sorry, but no. Unless it's a burner account, then I'd take my words back on you being entitled to an opinion. |

That fight was insane, especially finally seeing Uryu's Vollständig which the manga never showed us. Then he turns poor Ichigo into a doughnut... surely there's better ways to end your friendship. It's also hilarious how Ganju of all people caught the Schutztaffel off guard, and Pernida sinking into the sand like that was pretty funny. But I can't believe Chad lost... Overall, this is the best episode of Cour 3 for me, though I've enjoyed them all so far. I'm looking forward to the return of God aka Chair-sama next episode... oh, and I guess Aizen too. |

Uryu:The Soul Reapers took everything from me. Uryu's mother that was killed by Yhwach plan: I'm a joke to you. Or anyone else: Your father is Quincy, and is living pretty well, from what looks like.
Can both of you remind me again who genocided the Quincies? could say didn't have much going in this episode, being mostly Yhwach and Mimihagi doing some arm-wrestling, and Ichigo not checkmating Uryu twice.

Also, objectively a lot DID happen in this episode if you have any idea what the context is. Yhwach and the Mimihagi were "arm-wrestling" for the linchpin of the universe, lol. Yhwach just absorbed the Soul King. The Shinigami have lost.
All of the questions I'm reading in this thread get answered in the story eventually. Just keep watching. Any writer worth their salt does not spoonfeed you narrative details immediately after it makes you ponder.

The thing that makes Uryu's dichotomy so great here is that he has personal bonds involved in both parties. The Shinigami took his grandfather, Yhwach took his mother. Can both of you remind me again who genocided the Quincies? Staying loyal to and fighting with his close friends is valid, but so is siding with his own people who are on a revanchist crusade against a deeply sinister and corrupt status quo that's only allowed to function because of the oppression of his people. Just to add insult to injury, the "Soul King" who is the centrepiece of all of this is a Quincy. Personally if I was Uryu, I would look at the bigger picture here and join Yhwach's army. Why would I fight to maintain a world order who's foundations involved the downfall of my own people? Maou_heika said: The thing is, the meat of Bleach's lore (which involves the history of the Soul King) exists thanks to the Can't Fear Your Own World light novel sequel to the manga. Kubo is already incorporating aspects of it that revolve around the SK and Yhwach into his adaptation, thus elevating the final arc. So I believe why the SK is the way he is (which is at the core of why Yhwach is doing what he is) and the cosmology of the Bleach world will be revealed in TYBW as well like it was originally intended for the manga. If you've already read the manga, then I highly recommend reading CFYOW. It was written by Ryohgo Narita (author of Baccano).I don't understand why the Soul King is like a mannequin, if he's supposed to be so powerful then why can't he move around and defeat or at least fight the enemy |

Honestly, I had been a little disappointed by the art and animation seen in the first 3 episodes of this cour, but I stayed hopeful. The art in this episode was absolutely fantastic and everything I have been wanting. Absolutely stunning fight between Ichigo and Uryu, and my jaw dropped seeing how that fight ended (even though I read the TYBW manga, it's been a few years LOL I don't remember much.) Absolutely adored the OST. I do wish we didn't have the recap at the beginning of the episode, but oh well. This episode really makes up for how weird I felt about the last few episodes and I have a lot of hope for whats coming next :) |

Why does Ichigo literally lose all his fights? He comes back stronger each time, but he always ends up losing. |

This has to be the best anime original content I've ever seen. (way better than Demon Slayer's anime original content from S3/S4) Almost 90% of this is anime original but it's so good. The fight scene is even better than some of Demon Slayers' best combat sequence. It just blows my mind how high-class treatment Bleach got (despite the manga ended for a long time) They're basically giving Bleach "Demon Slayer" treatment now. The studio/ director could have cut corner and just let the fight end instantly or have a black screen transition showing everyone's defeat like in manga, but instead we get a bunch of phenomenal / outstanding/ fluid fight sequences showing every little detail. Looking at Bleach Thousand Year War makes me feel sad cuz a lot of other Shonen I liked got mediocre/ horrendous adaptation. (ex. Shamon King Reboot, Karakuri Circus , Yozakura Family) |

Been waiting for Ichigo vs Uryu since the first cour and now its finally here and its looking great. Until I saw his reaction, it slipped my mind completely that Uryu didn't actually know about Ichigo's quincy half heading into this. |
