Getting teary eyes in the first few minutes of episode 1, I knew this sure was going to be wholesome. The humbling theme was clear throughout. artwork was phenomenal. And there was NO ROMANCE or fanservice. Really did an amazing job of keeping the audience glued. Big winner in my book.

Still a 4/10 for me. The misunderstanding trope really sunk it. The animation is not always good to compensate. The writing is mostly infuriating.
I'd still watch a S2 out of curiosity, while keeping expectations low.

I enjoyed this series in general especially animation style, it reminded me a little bit of Frieren. Characters are generally interesting too.
Plot is okay. But unfortunately MC with a brain of a chicken. Maybe they should have made him mute, the series is much better when MC is not talking.

Really loved this anime, was deciding between 8 or 9 / 10 but went with 8 simply because they made him too dense,i mean there are bunch of anime similar to this but even after 12 episodes he still can't even start to question if he is strong or not.If he did it would be 9/10 definitely

Lol, this episode is just a cherry on top, they were searching him for all these years? Or maybe it was more like "1 hour searching and then meh, he is like 5 yo so he will be fine"? We could also see mc development, from braindead to brainrotten. I would be surprised if there will be season 2.

he technically should've been accepted as an adventurer with his eyesight, reflexes, strength, parry and throw skill with both the archery and fighters guild respectively because parry is all that is really necessary to be a bodyguard and secondly, wooden bows aren't the only ranged weapons in existence. This is why i initially felt this anime was terrible with the world building and consistency because the plot holes are way too blatant. For example, even if crossbows, slingshots, guns, blowguns, or throwing/spring levers didn't exist in this world, making a shorter modified version of literally any weapon for the specific purpose of throwing it would always exist like throwing axes, spears/javelins, knives/darts/disks, and hammers. but for the purpose of the anime lets say the ONLY simple bows exists. A weapon can be built out of any material and has no theoretical limit on its potential force. you can make a bow out of metal string and all, the only limitation would be if any human would be able to actually draw it. And a boy that can rip bows apart entirely would more than likely have the strength to do it. Dexterity simply isn't as much as a factor the higher the strength involved. Even if she didn't like the boy as shown initially a supposed "weapons master" like her would be unable to not see his potential by the time his 3 month period came and went.

Apparently, one thing Noor can't parry is aging. His masters look exactly the same as they did 15 years ago. Now, it looks like Noor caught up with them in age.

the show overall was an enjoyable watch. this episode left me disappointed. don't get me wrong It was fulfilling to see noor's backstory but in the last episode? come on man.

Noor was pretty daft the whole time which sometimes was hard to watch and other times was genuinely hilarious.

I think my favorite part of this series was the ending title screen, I parry x... some of those were actually really funny

if you're looking for deep story and/or well written characters this show isn't for you. a casual watch with casual characters but a great time

thanks for reading

This is probably my guilty pleasure of the season, I probably shouldn't like it as much, but gosh darn I do. :P
Maybe its just because I'm getting old and liked the feel of this character who always saw the good in other people, while completely being unaware of his own accomplishment. He parries everything, even the compliments given to him.

Light hearted and endearing. Sometimes I wish I could be as warm hearted and determined as the protagonist. This is a show where naivety works well for the protagonist because of the true nature of his other personal qualities.

Disappointed that the ending did a recap of the first episode and the lack of any development or resolution in the ending but I suppose that's to be expected. xD I really enjoyed this anime regardless. It's so chill.

I thought they looked for him but we know they didn't see him until now. Did they actually look far and wide back then anyway? LOL

So the theocracy is also after their kingdom too? The plot chickens, oh wait that's the chicken we parried earlier that will become today's dinner.

Woah everything from episode 5 to this episode all happened in one day! >_<

Parry everything wasn't a lie, it was an understatement. Our MC parries plot, common sense, destiny, the entire friggin' universe if he has too!

7/10 as I had to parry my disbelief to enjoy this.

It might serve as anticlimatic episodes (since it's last one) by showing all six Instructors POV on Noor when Noor asked to learn from, it is because of that Noor misunderstands himself of his full potential, from what i understand. and all of them want to take Noor back to become their disciple, just wonder when they realize that, is it during young Noor, or during adult Noor.

potential season 2? only time will tell, hope that Noor did not 'parry' that season 2 possibility

I normally hate flashback episodes, ESPECIALLY as a finale, but this was a touching episode. I just feel like something was kind of missing. If they had 5 or 10 more minutes it could have rounded out better. I'd really like for that dork to get some acknowledgement at some point, but I doubt he'll stop being an idiot since that seems to be a basic premise of the series.

While the show was just... OK, I kind of feel bad for Noor. If it hadn't been for those fools who threw him out when he was younger, he could have had a decent, less lonely, and more educated life.

That being said, I think this episode itself was useful, although it would have been better as an episode 11 and them pulling Noor into everything in the final episode

I'd want to train in warrior school since it's the only school where they train shirtlessly. And where's a sequel announcement cause I need it?

Anyway, this mark the end of light novel volume 2 (out of 8 and counting) and the end of manga volume 4 (out of 4 and counting), anime seems to have more detail than manga but less than light novel.

This show is probably the definition of 4/10 (MAL score naming is awful by the way). It's just bad enough that you can't ever call it a good show, but it's pretty entertaining to watch weekly if you really don't have anything better to do. Most of us will probably not even remember this show after two or three weeks have passed.

Literally the worst way, ever, to finish a seasonal action anime. I mean, Episode 12 is just an extension of Episode 1 with a 5-minute conclusion.

Don't get me wrong, I can forgive Noor for being dumb and too humble for the entire season, but the anime's storyboard was a complete mess. :(

The anime was okay, there was no sense of danger knowing that doesnt matter what the world throw at MC, he would parry it like it's nothing, i watched it all at once i don't think i would've watched it weekly though... it was entertaining enough this way

decent backstory, most teachers patient & taught Noor, too bad they kept their thoughts to themselves & mc didn't in their square peg education system.
lol some funny faces. Oken such funny, crazy resonance sphere.
Fairly good animation with rather unique fights using ridiculous skills. Cast seem fun but at times bland or lacking in relation building & story. dense mc gag at times got annoying. It bypassed several tropes deserves props for that.

This was probably the best episode, but jfc there's a limit to how dumb you can be. Just rehashing the same gag over and over. I really feel like they have something here, so maybe later on it gets better, but dude needs some common sense.

I do appreciate the flashback and seeing how the instructors really thought of him.

Even at the end he was like, "I hope I can go on adventures just like in the book my parents read to me." Just parried the whole season smh.

Alright towards the end of the series, it became better. At first, the painfully oblivious way they made the main character interact with other characters was unbearable, especially during the goblin episode it was annoying to watch. but after that, it did go uphill.

Honestly, this was a rare case where I loved the anime but hated the ending/final episode.

I quite enjoy animes with OP protagonists, and him being oblivious to many things didn't bother me. I have dealt with people IRL who are this stupid or even more lol.

And I felt that this anime was fun. The MC had a good heart, and actually unlike most OP protagonists he actually earned his OPness through an insane level of hard work and perseverance, which was nice to see. It was simply enjoyable to watch him do his thing. Also, I legit felt bad for Rolo and found it heartwarming how they treated him. Really hope they free his fellow slaves in the future too.

Until the last episode, the only thing that bothered me was the princess' behavior. For someone who insisted so much on being his Page/squire, she sure didn't act like it past the Goblin episode. Considering what she thought of him by this point, I expected far more squire-like behavior from her, including following orders, yet she was really hesitant to do almost every thing he asked her to do. Not to mention the absurdity of the princess of the country going on such quests without a whole army with her, but that can be ignored.

The last episode really bothered me though. First of all, having the final episode be almost all a flashback is a terrible idea. Second of all, the behavior of every single character other than MC made no sense throughout the whole episode:

-All the teachers saw incredible potential in him, yet not a single one of them told him that. Also, not a single one tried to guide him or ask one of the other ones to take him in and train him, or even help him in anyway to reach his incredible potential.

-Each didn't know he was training with the other ones? seriously? during a whole year and a half none of them ever mentioned him to the other ones? not even the master thief who knew of him before he joined his class?

-He did in 3 months what the master magician only managed to do after 50 years, yet somehow the master magician still thought he couldn't cut it in magic. THE F***??!!

-After a year and a half not helping him, they decide the day after he leaves to adopt him and search for him, yet somehow can't find him despite his having only traveled a day's worth, walking to boot. Ignoring the obvious issue with that, there is an even bigger problem: The princess detected him with her magic, how the F*** did the master magician not simply do the same??!!

-After the flashback, you are telling me that the guy that the whole capital saw flying in, defeating and taming the calamity dragon, and then defeating 10000 people (who also definitely talked about him to everyone) pretty much alone, you are telling me that he wouldn't be the talk of the entire f***ing capital??!! That he would just return to walking in the street with no one recognizing him??!! With that very distinctive sword to boot??!!

So yeah, I hated the final episode. I did really like the show as a whole though. It honestly would have been better served with a filler quest episode in the middle or even being only 11 episodes like Dr. Stone or Konosuba.

8/10. Would have been 9/10 if not for the final episode. Definitely hope for a Season 2.

I was skeptical before watching this anime cuz I heard the MC is dumb, but I unironically enjoyed watching this show. Felt more like watching a less edgier version of Cid from Eminence in Shadow. Finally an MC that can give the great Shadow-sama a run for his money when it comes to blockheadedness lol.

That aside, I quite enjoyed the story, pacing and the other characters of this anime. I found the MC to be quite the likable character (even though he is stupid) due to his other qualities like his humility, diligence and willingness to do any kind of job. Also, him parrying an entire army was hilarious to watch. Regardless, I would probably shy away from reading the light novel cuz I'm not really a fan of reading monologues of dumb characters haha. Still, I don't mind watching a season 2 it ever gets one in the future.

In this world, intelligence probably determines the amount of mana you have and the number of techniques you know. Mc-kun has all other stats maxed out. And intelligence is at one. You get a dumbass who can do a very small number of things very well.
This still doesn't excuse the people around him and the typical anime 'everyone thinks for themselves and says nothing to anyone'.
All in all, this title isn't bad, but it isn't good either. If I hadn't been watching it in progress, I would have given up halfway through. Everything is very predictable and repetitive from episode to episode. Only the level of insanity gets higher and higher. And so, a very average series with a feature in the form of a stupid op mc-kun and humour around it.
Also, the dragon in the second season of 'Saihate no Paladin' is well done. It's not badly drawn. And most importantly, the dragon has a character that is revealed as the story progresses. The battle with dragon is epic, it looks like a real battle.
And here we have a well-drawn dragon. You can feel the weight, the scale, the size. The animators have tried their best. But the plot is questionable. And the characters too.
Mc-kun is a stupid op character. And from nothing. Kicking sticks in the forest and eating poisonous shit.

Might be a real stretch but this anime kinda follows the same moral with the film "Whiplash".

Hear me out a guy who gets better everytime he is discouraged, rejected and humiliated, to strive to become better, since because of their determination all those rejections became fuel and fuel only to become better.
