Damn, it's crazy to know that the timeline Kai ended up on this episode is one where a huge war is happening. He also meets the mysterious Rinne. Tbh, this episode felt like plot really got moving. The first episode felt more like an introduction. Rinne seems like a nice girl but I'm much more curious about what she's really capable of. Their relationship is probably going to be a core part of ths show. |

Why was the pacing so fast this episode? I really wanted them to do the scenes with Rinne and Kai justice, but they sped through those in an instant and they were back in the resistance city already. What happened to that nice pacing we had in episode 1? |

This episode is the weakest link of the season (for now). They don't even have a proper OP, just using images of episode 1 for the intro. Correct me if I'm wrong but I hope there is a reason for this |

I think the OP is the sign that the animation quality in later episodes will drop significantly. We've to prepare for the impact if you want to continue watching this anime. |

No, prob because that's how it is made because there's a reason for it. (I have a lot of things in my mind that can be the reason but I'm not telling... ) Let's just wait and see how they will do. For now, it's decent, but the eyes are rather annoying as I've said back in ep1. chanzy7 said: What happened to that nice pacing we had in episode 1? It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

Decent so far, plot is nothing special but intresting enough. Fight animation seems alright. Don't mind the character design eyes are fine too specially Rinne's. Next episode may have a big battle let's see how they pull off. OP is god awful. I think they will change visuals each episode(doesn't make it any better). |

Haven't read the light novel, but ngl, this adaptation looks rushed as hell. Are they trying to adapt 9 books in 12 episodes? Plus, the production that was average in the first episode, is now below the average. Still, the story alone makes me still want to watch it. |

If there's at least one great thing about this anime, that would be the character designs, Jeanne and Rinne are very beautiful. That said, most Kei Sazane works have great art design, seems like something important for him. |
In most cases, the MAL Average Scores don't mean anything, here is a question: were the works made before 2000 all shit? Why are they so damn scarce in the Top 50? Think about how MAL is quite literally a filtered amount of the Anime fanbase. Here's a timeline of the Top 15 in which you can check that, almost always, the scores are affected by the freshness, popularity and other factors that have nothing to do with quality. |

Rinne is so damn pretty! Sadly looks like the first episode was an anomaly in terms of production quality. This was definitely a step down. Not just in production quality, but pacing too. Felt like two eps in one. It’s not God’s games we play bad quality wise, but not as good as episode 1 had us believe. The story is solid though. So many questions with the timeline reset, Rinne and whether or not Kai’s friends will ever remember him. I’m guessing the space where Rinne was chained up in is somewhere beyond time and space which is why the timeline reset didn’t affect her. Still doesn’t explain how Kai was unaffected since he was physically on earth at the time… but we’ll see what they come up with. That monster that showed up gotta be connected to whatever cast the timeline reset spell. She called Rinne a singularity entity.. meaning whoever is behind all of this’ worst fear is Kai and Rinne linking up. Interesting. It’s nice Kai has someone he can empathise with and relate to. Rinne being shunned by both demons and angels alike and from the original timeline makes her the only person alive who can understand Kai’s pain. I’m ok with them getting pretty close so soon because when people are vulnerable they tend to do connect with others much quicker than normally. Some nice Rinne fanservice is always welcome! Poor thing had never even got a warm bath or nice bed to sleep in before. The last part of the episode is where things started going too fast for me. Seems like Kai and Rinne should’ve had more time to themselves before having to fight and save the human city. Then the counterattack and everything with Jeanne was planned so quickly .. feels like they’re going to speed run this sadly That aside, Jeanne is so damn pretty. Her design reminds me of Kisaragi from Full Dive RPG lol. Too bad she never got to confess those feelings to Kai.. |

Love it! Especially considering how much it is similar to Kimisen. Similar MC, heroine that looks like Alice and somewhat similar personality. An attendant with a personality similar to Rin. His friends are similar to Kimisen's friends. Even stuff like vehicles are similar. Even though the stories are different, the feel is the same. |

Plot convenience - The animation. Half of the episode has been just him not using the sword that cuts space and time, before he realizes he can cut space and time. Did japan get new fetish going on recently towards impossibly stupid main characters. Trapped girl is a threat? On no account should security system try to kill her, naah, try to capture her from an angle where MC can see everything. Good thing MC got the most powerful sword for no other reason than it's the plot and that is just the right thing that can defeat this daemon who doesn't know how angles works. Oh, what's that sword cut through space giving them chance to escape. Good thing it did that only the second time and not the first. MC doesn't know where they are located, ah, good thing his truck is parked just outside. Imagine having ability to do spells which melt stone and at the same time begin stupid enough not to realize you can warm up water. Oh what's that monsters are attacking, good thing they repelled them all in two moves, while they stupidly observe that they can't believe humanity has been pushed this far by demons. Classic ln writing: Girl explains how powerful she is...IMMEDIATELY( literally the same scene) reduced to a damsel in distress. No guys, listen, she'd totally be cool, badass, and capable...if only the mc wasnt just stronger making her functionally irrelevant. Is it that hard to have ways she can impact the narrative and/or aide the MC that aren't combat related cause obviously the mc has to be the best there. This isnt even touching upon the fact that the mc is granted an ultima weapon for reasons. |

Awful writing … I actually said “Dislike Episode” He has an amazing hero sword, but doesn’t even use it in the first espisode He stands like a dear caught in the headlights, with hero sword in hand and his new friend being attacked “I need to borrow your sword Sid” “There is no reason for me to sacrifice myself for this life” “I guess I need to be Sid in this world” A hero doesn’t second guess their actions and they don’t just fight for their own world, they are a hero in any situation, at any time, in any world. |

@lingojk Yea. I think the last season of Zero no Tsukaima adapted 10 books in 12 episodes, so it's not like it was never done. Even though they did it because the author was in his death bed and the production wanted him to watch it before his death, and he did watch it. |

Unlucky Morpheus's OP is fine, though the visuals seem recycled from both episodes thus far. A human who looks like an amalgamation of a demon hybrid, Kai tries cutting her chains off, though it's Sid's sword that does the trick to sever fate. And even when Rinne suspected that Kai had an affinity to attack her, he proved it with Code Holder, though her fight with the demon of Dark Empress Vanessa being the last that she remembers, aside from a demon who attempts to capture and rewrite her code, being not a part of the demons. Regardless, the history they know is the same, and that's what matters. Getting Rinne acclimated to the city is a problem more than anything, though they're confirmed to be living within an inverse world where demons won, and the Great War still continues to this day. Kai's role as the new face of humanity's hero being Sid, along with Rinne's power, makes both of them valuable to the Urza Federation, and especially towards Jeanne, who knew some names which spark her memories. Still, this is only half the battle won, now that they know how to defeat the demons with the Code Holder in Kai's hands. At least there is a direction for this show, and it may be generic, but at least it's trying to be something. |

There are alternate worlds… Kai and Rinne know the same history where humanity won thanks to Sid, the human hero who defeated Vanessa alone. It would be tough for others to understand that, since everything is reverted and everyone knows a totally different history. I’m sure Kai, Rinne, Jeanne and Falin could defeat Vanessa and end the demons. |

I thought this was a big improvement over the last episode. Rinne is a great addition; mysterious, powerful, cute. I really like the chemistry between her and Kai, two outsiders who have found each other. It's well done and feels natural. I also appreciate that Kai did not turn into a blushing blustering puddle whenever she touched him or was in his room. Still a lot of stuff we're left in the dark about like what she is, Kai's role in everything, what the other dimension was and the monster, etc but I don't mind as long as we get at least some answers before the season's over. The speed of the pacing seems a bit breakneck if they're already going to fight the demon boss by episode three. Not really sure I buy the human resistance trusting these two weirdos no one's met before and using them as the linchpin of their counterattack so soon, but oh well. |

Enjoying the show so far but this episode feels kinda rushed. Like they glossed over him familiarizing with the locals, or introducing Rinne to everyone. And I get it isn't that important but it makes the progression feel more natural and get us to know the characters more. Also, I think Rinne being as scared and shy is just weird. Considering she claims to be able to fight with the demon's hero and wipe out a entire demon army herself. You'd think she'd be more confident in combat. Also the local human faction seems too quick in entrusting their entire army to the MC. This operation would basically doom them if it fails so I don't think they would so quickly approve of it after meeting a guy for like 3 days. |

@JoaoNeto11 ZnT had a total of 22 volumes, less when the anime finished. That's about 5 volumes per season. 9 volumes in 12 episodes is twice as much as what ZNT did. In reality, ZnT season 1 adapted 3 volumes from memory. After that it is hard to say because after season 1, the story dramatically diverged from the novels with only loosely sharing events. Some aspects were understandable but most of it really confused me since it just made the story worse. Either way, the changes mean it's not really cramming in 10 books in to 12 episodes even if it covered events that spanned 10 volumes. The anime might as well be a different story, so can't really define which part it was adapted up to at any single point in time. Events were scrambled and details changed. I read the entire novel series and was honestly disappointed in the divergence. Besides that, the author never finished the last two volumes. A guest writer finished it based on his notes. And by then the anime had its finale. Personally the anime is way worse than the LN for this reason but a lot of people enjoyed ZnT's anime so I guess it is successful enough. Simply put, I wouldn't use ZnT as a successful example for this series to follow. The situation is quite different as Znt didn't technically adapt 10 volumes in to 1 season. |

@MeanEYE The show has a number of issues so far... But to address some of your points since I don't think it is entirely fair 1) He doesn't really know how to use the sword's super powers nor that it can cut space and time. That's because the weapon based on the voice severes fate. So probably more like changing the future. What that really means, we are all clueless about and so is the MC 2) Not sure what you even mean about the second part. What security system? And what capture 'her'? Also trapped girl wasn't a threat? At least the MC didn't deem her so considering she's unconscious and trapped... 3) The space cutting thing likely isn't space cutting? Once again we don't know what the sword's power is. But if its fate manipulation, then it likely wasn't spacetime cutting and just changed their fate so they can escape which is consistent with it canceling Rinne's spell. The sword is a deus ex machina though, just that its power so far isn't provably inconsistent. 4) He drove there last episode so of course the truck is outside... You did watch last episode right? |

@zcv45 2. The monster that appeared from the rift said "Fate singularity entity ????? has awakened. Threat level to new world determined as "worst". Commence removal of Last Risers seal". To me that sounds like a robot and automated system, hence me calling it security system since it activated the moment she was free; 4. I have watched the episode and I also noticed that he had no clue where he was. He also cut a rift open with his sword through which they passed. He was also teleported up the spire and he had no clue where he was there either. It's silly to assume passing to portal does nothing other than put you on the other side of the wall. Therefore I claimed it's convenient that car was just right there after being teleported so many times. And I also find extremely stupid the idea of her being able to hide her wings and in previous episode being tied to them. Why not just hide and show and voila, no more chains on wings. It's also extremely stupid that only wings can be hidden. Why not arms as well. There are too may flaws to count and point out. Whole thing barely holds together. |

I'm having trouble with this series so far. There are a lot of interesting concepts being thrown out there, but it also feels like this adaptation is skipping a lot of the source material and leaving gigantic plot and/or logic holes in its wake. There's just a bunch of stuff that feels like the explanations were left on the cutting room floor, or else things that are plain stupid. 1. Jeanne is a woman passing as a man: putting character design that isn't fooling anyone aside, why does that even matter? Why are they making a point of it? Why is protag-kun so worked up over it? 2. Our MC shows up out of nowhere, no one has any idea who he is, and he's carrying weapons that very clearly don't exist in this world. There's no interrogation, there's no effort to confirm his story; they just give him a room and suddenly he's out on patrol with his two friends from the original world who have no idea who he is. 3. The MC shows up with a woman who is abnormally skittish around everyone. There's no question who she is, they just let her bunk with the MC as if this is an everyday occurrence. 4. After what appears to be years of living in peace (one would assume, due the level of development of the underground city) demons just happen to find the place like two days after these two strangers roll into town, and the MC and wing woman (I haven't bothered learning their names yet) are somehow not immediately suspected as being spies? Instead, the leader of these people reveals her "super secret" (which again, character design that ain't fooling anyone aside, why is it a secret?) and says "hey, let's work together!" It's as if these underground humans have zero survival instinct. And don't even get me started on how they pound the same plot points over and over and over again, just in case the audience wasn't paying attention to the last 17 times it was pointed out. It does seem like there's an intriguing mystery here (this is either a multiversal story where the MC is this universe's Sid; or it's a time travel story and he actually is Sid), but the execution is really rushed and sloppy. I'm hoping the next couple of episodes slow down to give us some explanations, but I'm on the verge of dropping this one. |

Um... what? LOL? MC un-chained the angel-girl that was asking for help... immediately 3 sec later she starts blasting at MC... what? (is she NA cop trained?) . Yea, I really think this whole thing is more or less a "memory change" instead of a full "time rewind" that changed History. Since there are bunch of things from the "old timeline" that still exists in this "new timeline" when they really shouldn't. (including flash-memories and conditioned habits) Sid isn't here, cause he's already dead a long time ago back in the OG timeline. (such as the angel-girl sorta remembers the OG history with a human hero arriving, seems like she was captured right before Sid went ham on the other races, so angel-girl didn't know what happened to the world below or the "change" afterwards) . |
