| I hate the original Rent-a-Girlfriend. I would never consider watching any alternative version of it. Except a version where all of the characters are replaced by entertaining, likable, relatable, or otherwise compelling characters who have more to offer than just half-decent designs. |

Simply turning Rent-a-Girlfriend into a Shoujo Anime would automatically turn off a large portion of the male "depraved and degenerate" audience and a story about an unlikeable degenerate female cuck renting a bunch of unlikable cringe male characters wouldn't likely suddenly garnish a flood of new viewers either. |

Either way, if a character like Tomoko Kuroki was exactly the same type of pathetic cuck Kazuya Kinoshita is in Rent-a-Girlfriend, I highly doubt they would be any more likable. | The writing will still be bad regardless of the genders. Although, I could see Kazu being a bit less hated since it seems like a lot of people like cute dorky anime girl and that men should "man up". They would probably also sympathize with her more since she would be a female who is getting abused by men. I think the adorkable girl trope is boring and that there should be more vulnerable men in fiction, it's just that this one went about it the wrong way. The girls though will probably be more hated as males. But people tend to excuse them more because they're females. |
