Hell yeah man, Demon Slayer is back! I can’t help it man, I just really enjoy this series, just seeing that there was a new episode put a smile on my face. And we got another double length premiere too, love to see it, and it was quite the interesting episode with the Hashiras preparing for the coming fight against Muzan, as he will definitely be making a move with Nezuko conquering the sun. And speaking of Nezuko, still not used to her being able to talk but I really loved her scene with Zenitsu in this episode, it was both cute and hilarious with Zenitsu’s over the top reactions. And we got to see a bit of the training before Tanjiro and the boys make it there, and damn it looks rough, they even have Uzui doing pre-training, I was happy to see him and his wives again, took me back to the good times we had in Season 2.

But beneath the goofiness of the main gang and the training, there’s the seriousness of the situation with the Hashiras needing to manifest the marks that Mitsuri and Tokito did before, and the issue that it sounds like everyone who has the mark will have something bad happen to them, they didn’t say what it was but it’s not that hard to figure out, unless I’m wrong of course lol. And there was also the stuff with Kagaya in very bad shape, we haven’t seen much of him to really feel something but it is still sad to see.

And there’s probably a lot I didn’t mention but I don’t see a point in completely rehashing what everyone else here has said 10 times over lol. And we got another banger OP, love MY FIRST STORY for their OP for Golden Kamuy Season 2, don’t know HYDE but they both made a great song together, very cool visuals as well, it’s hard to say if I like this one more than previous OPs yet or not but I’ll probably know the more I hear it, but now I’m excited to hear that ED as well.

It's that funny time of the year again, let's see how many bad episodes this season of Kimetsu will have. It started with a horrible episode and it even had 50 minutes long, this anime doesn't have enough plot to fill 20 minutes, and ufotable continues with this bullshit of releasing double episodes.
If you're a fanboy, please don't waste my time.

Watch more movies, please.

Perhaps, this is hell.

For a training arc, that looked really exciting and epic so far. I can’t wait to see more of Giyu, who hasn’t played a role since the first season. It was sad to see him split off from the others like that but can understand his character in a way. Hopefully Tanjiro can help him change like he did with Muichiro.

Kimetsu no Yaiba is back, and since I didn't go see the movie, I'm not upset or disappointed like some people might be.

The training arc begins, although they didn't reveal much in this episode. There are important things like Kagaya's poor health, or the fact that the hunters want to ally with Tamayo, and what seemed most important to me is what happens to those who get the mark, although they didn't comment on what it was, it's deducible that it's something dangerous or deadly.

I'm interested in this season, which at first glance won't have as much action as the previous ones, but we'll finally get to know more about the other pillars.

that opening sequence with the hashiras teaming up was already better than the entirety of the previous season, which was terrible. so this had a good start and it was doing fine... until zenitsu popped back in. i completely forgot about him until then as well but jesus, he goes on a generational run when it comes to ruining episodes. tengen and his trio of baddies were good to see again at the very least.

A nice intermission for the first episode, seeing the two hashiras on their mission at the beginning was pretty cool too.

Side comment: oof to Tanjiro's forehead x2 lmao

waiting for the yaiba "fans" to come and rewrite history again and tell u how
adding actual content that builds character to mamke the story better makes it a shit adaptation and totally ruins the SUPERIOR manga they totally were a fan of since day 1 and even witghout the ufotable anime boosting it'
yaiba is a BOOM

cocky tanjiro would have saved yaiba frfr

Everyone training under each hashira(except Tomioka for now) should make for some interesting moments. It was good to see Tengen and his wives again, I like that he doesn't just disappear from the series just cause he can't fight.

There was no reason to make this episode so long... Seems like another cash grab based on the comments from people that watched this episode early as part of the world tour???...

Do I have Oshi No Ko's success with it's feature length first episode to blame for this? I have heard that some other anime also did a longer first episode after Oshi No Ko's success...

Regardless, I'm already not feeling it after this first episode. The comedy ain't it and throwing in a random anime only fight scene for a couple of Hashiras to destroy cannon fodder ain't it either. This is already a very short arc so if they continue to try to pad it out with more dumb BS it's going to become a chore to get through this season. Ufotable's godly animation quality won't be enough to carry the season when it's just a training arc filled with exposition dumping. Hopefully they keep it short so they can be done with it and start focusing on the final arc fighting against Muzan.

I sure didn't expect Aizen's voice coming from that crow lol.
Episode was nice, didn't feel that long even with the extra length and the additional scene with Iguro and Sanemi. This arc isn't going to be very exciting since it's a training one, but if the opening is of any indication I think the last episode it's going to be exciting.
@Enbu_Kirikaze Same: always have to question whether it's just someone sounding like him (which I think there are a few, like Tomokazu Sugita and even Toshiyuki Morikawa, who does Kagaya), but I barely even remember that crow anyway. Then again, I also didn't really remember Muichiro's crow and she has an equally memorable voice actor

good episode. it was fun. wanted to see some more nezuko screentime. the comedic bits were funny. good to see tengen back and the wives, still hot af, i wonder if they all do it with tengen in turns. how do they decide who goes first?

the ending tho. had no idea that woman was a demon lol. next episodes should be great.

given how short the training arc is, i'm okay with these 8 episodes but i'm really hoping they release 24 episode season for next arc but probably 24 episodes won't be enough to get to the ending. dont care if there's a 2 year gap even but i want to watch till the end now in a continuous succession.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.
Feeling half happy, half sad.

The beginning was awesome, with great animation as usual and it had a dark atmosphere with the Hashira meeting and all with a bit of comedy here and there which I can take, I was enjoying the episode until that mother fucker named Zenitsu appeared, he sure knows how to ruin an episode for me, my fucking god how I hate that mother fucker, I tried to endure his screaming bullshitery in this episode but man, he just keeps going and he doesn't shut up, that's his whole shtick when he's awake and I hate it, I wish he dies already, he isn't this annoying in the manga since I don't have to hear his ear rapes, since S1 Zenitsu is the one ruining the episodes for me, this is a great anime but that blonde screaming mother fucker degrades it, he makes the boar guy look like a saint.

Anyway, this is a nice episode but it sure has some shit in it too like the things I described.

Peace before the storm, i like how it foreshadowing the fight of Tanjiro vs Muzan and the secret of swordsmen of first breathing. Finally, i can see Nezuko more than hiding in the box. Everyone is getting ready before the war. I like Zenitsu despite everyone say he was annoying and all but i come to like his comedic moment.

Whatever is it please protect Nezuko

@Seansy Its in fact Demon Slayer's success that has led to anime like Oshi no Ko to produce a long length first episode. Ufotable has been doing it since Fate/zero.

The return of the much-famed series of Koyoharu Gotouge's Kimetsu no Yaiba, and the entrance to the short Hashira Training Arc is always as ever that profitable and great.

The Hashiras' attempts, from Wind Sanemi and Serpent Obanai to save a village woman from a demon, to only then have their access closed by the time they reach Muzan's stronghold, it's time for the Hashira Meeting to assess the future of the Demon Slayer Corps in rounding up Muzan and the rest of the Upper Rank demons.

Thankfully, both Tanjiro and Nezuko seem fine after a rather long recovery from the Swordsmith Village, and the Hashiras embrace for the worst, knowing that their master, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, could not attend the meeting, but instead through Amane because of health complications. But furthermore, both Love Kanroji and Water Tomioka having this Mark that bore the defeat of Muzan through First Breathing, it's through Tanjiro at first, but both Hashiras soon acquired the same feeling as how the former felt: an overflow of powers that push beyond the human limit. The others may not have manifested this Mark yet, but will undergo training to awaken that Mark. However, Tomioka retreats, seemingly belligerent of the situation at hand, which Stone Himejima stopped the infighting.

Of course, Zenitsu would come back anticipating Nezuko like his usual, but as to where Inosuke is, getting the latter to learn his name, is rather funny. Even Haganezuka is back with Rengoku's sword, with a much more refined look with high-quality steel and a "Destroy" character...he's only in the midst of refining that exact sword. Inosuke's only looking forward to the Hashira Training, which the actual leaders don't have time to glimpse over what nefarious plans Muzan might drop while leaving Nezuko unattended. They need ALL the help they can get, from active to retired Hashiras like Sound Tengen to train everyone to prepare for what's to come, all the way to the end.

Tanjiro receiving a notice from Kagaya that Tomioka is not participating in the Hashira Training, as he lay on his deathbed with Amane looking after him, time is of the essence. And looking for someone like Tamayo, which has been a rather arduous effort even from a mere crow being Kagaya's messenger, he assigns her to both Kocho and Nezuko to make progress in demon medicine.

Aside from MY FIRST STORY and HYDE's OP being standard Shonen-ish fare, the series is now at its most pivotal point, and this training will be well worth for the final war incoming.

I only voted 1/5 bc i paid for seeing it in the cinema. I was aware of it, and I did it anyway, but I think that puting a movie that it's exactly the same than the anime... it's a fatal beavoir from the studio.

Anyway, I think that they have exaggerated the dumb behavoir of Zenitsu and Inosuke. I've missed them so much in the last sesion, and in the start of this one, they are more dumbass than ever.

I'm happy to see Demon Slayer back on air once more. =)

By the sounds of it, this arc is pretty short, but I'm happy that we got a double-length first episode. With Nezuko being able to handle the sun, she's simply a walking target zone for Muzan to make his move, as I'm sure he'd do anything to be able to handle the sun himself.

It makes sense for the Hashiras to all meet up and get underway in preparing a training segment for everyone. Kanroji trying to describe what it was like to have the mark on her was pretty funny, although I was more intrigued as to why Tomioka refused to take part in this training arc. Hopefully we'll find out very soon for his reasons as to why he's taken this stance.

The new OP was pretty nice, as good as the previous arc. I do look forward to hearing what the ED song sounds like next time. Overall, this first episode was enjoyable. This might be a short arc, but it'll still no doubt be very important for Tanjiro and the others in order to deal with Muzan and the other demons.

Hmm, so Sanemi and Obanai had a glimpse of Kibutsuji Muzan’s Infinity Castle. The Ubuyashiki Head seems to be sick enough to not attend the last meeting with the hashiras, and even passed away sometime after the meeting.

Lady Amane presided the meeting, and addressed the demon mark, stating that the first person, Tanjiro, can influence the people around him to develop the marks too, such in the case of Kanroji and Tokito. When asked to explain the how to achieve and how it feels, Kanroji made fun of herself 🤣. Share same brain cell as Tanjiro 🤣🤣🤣. Tokito did a fairly good job at it.

The hashira only meeting took place without Giyu. I wonder what he meant by he’s not like them. He seems to be secluded when other hashiras began training.

Inosuke wants Nezuko to remember his name, and that was funny, since he was the one who kept mixing up Tanjiro’s name often. Zenitsu is as usual, and pretty happy to see Nezuko in broad sunlight.

Haganezuka showed up and told Tanjiro about the character on the sword, which was probably the first, after which the hashiras got such engravings on their swords.

Ubuyashiki Kagaya sent two letters before his demise. One to Tanjiro, the contents of which we are unaware of, but I guess it’s about Tomioka Giyu not being a part of the Hashira Training and probably asking him to help out in the matter. Other to Tamayo, through his personal messenger bird, stating that she work alongside with Kochou on studying Nezuko’s condition. She is also invited to the headquarters, which is the first for a demon (except Nezuko of course).

Last but not the least, we see Uzui and his wives. Uzui is also a part of the Hashira training, being the first step for the Demon Slayer Corps.

I so want to see when Tanjiro will join this training regimen. Also, I have this inkling, where I believe that the more he learns different breathing styles, the more close he can get to the first breathing, Sun Breathing. Let’s see how that turns out.

Once again, to start a Demon Slayer season, a decent premiere to set everything up. This series has been on a crash downwards in terms of my personal enjoyment since Mugen Train, but things seem to be looking better than the last season, as more interesting characters in the Hashiras are shown. My expectations are low but I guess all I'm hoping for is for this to be more intriguing than just constant fighting and poor comedy.

@Enbu_Kirikaze I always like to have some skepticism, given he also voiced freaking Wolfwood in his younger days, it's kind of a big gap and he's no spring chicken anymore at 65. I do recall some moments of wow, like Azami in Food Wars or Baran in Dragon Quest Dai's ADventure

Episode 1 already gives a pleasant feeling, I am especially glad that each episode takes a timekeeping of 40 minutes, although 5 of them take the opening and the ending, it is still better to let 11 episodes, but voluminous in content.
In fact, the only thing that can be evaluated is the appreciation of manga in the form of anime, for example, the quality of drawing, actors, musical accompaniment, so the story is already over.
