Why else would they make most  male characters in anime with beta males who lack confidence to speak clearly  with female characters..?

I think it's a culture in Japan and mainly for teenagers/kids in school in the world. Most of them lack of confidence when they're -18 years old. I remember when I was 15-16 years old, I was the only one of my friends who actually went to talk to random girls in the street.

Lot of "nerd" are like that too. Now anime/manga are more popularize but back then I remember I was kinda the only one in my class who actually watch anime. ( early 2000's)

And in Japan, 70% of man are still virgin at age of 20.
Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes.
It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Neo: What truth?

Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo.

I think it comes down to a difference in culture and differing trends in how genders interact (haha insert non-intellectual stuff in 3..2..1...)

Basically the difference is that western characters tend to start the show rude to the ladies and end up becoming more understanding as the show progress's (reflecting the western guys who call women thots when they are young and only learning respect after many rejections and old age) While Japanese society places more importance on mutual respect so it takes time for those barriers to break in most characters portrayed.

No that silly stuff is said, the real reason is basically easy plot device.

A rom-com like anime's would be half an episode if the main character just sensibly asked "can you go out with me so that I may prove my worth to you?"

Having weaker beta males is an attempt to connect with the audience, and give them hope that they can still get girls and accomplish stuff when that is highly unprobable irl.
In terms of the male population
20% harem king chads
10% chadlites
30% normies (might also never get a girl but not impossible tier)
40% no smv virgins for life

Because the anime creators also have the same problem. Easy.
Help! I need somebody. Help! Not just anybody. Help! You know I need someone. Helpppppp!

Simple answer: Easier, more appealing character development (Weak –> Strong; Bad –> Good; Poor –> Rich; etc.). Nobody (besides nut jobs, at least) wants to follow along to a long ass story, where the super strong, super badass MC slowly devolves into a little weak, losin’-ass, simpy-cuck bitch-of-a-man; u nah I’m sayin’ ??? Shoot… Well at least I don’t! Idk…

ok so, I hate to say this. cause I love anime, and hate insulting it's fans (most of the time).

but it's because the general anime fan has an easier time relating to a looser.

honestly? why not!

josepth joestar slowly fell off as he got older, but I genuinely love that about him. it's so painfully real to see a man be past his prime, but still have a small hint of what made him so cool.

Truth to be told, not all men have confidence when it comes to speaking to women that they like. An "alpha male" is what a lot of men aspire to be. But it's moreso a caricature then it is representative what "men" are in real-life. And the ones who claim to be tend to get self-confidence confused with being an asshole.

I think because most of anime audience (especially in Japan) seem to be the more reserved male individuals (including some of the creators), and people tend to look for self-insert opportunities / character to relate to.

There might be financial motivation but i don't think there's specific evil agenda for this.

It's funny how people still buy into this beta alpha nonsense...

Nah, beta males give them money, it would be a terrible business move to antagonize the betas

I mean, yes absolutely, but there is a difference between a male character with little self-confidence or who is shy or reserved or anything, or a character who doesn't really gives me the impression he is a character on his own merits, but moreso a presumable placeholder for the audience.

In general, the use of alpha and beta is dumb tho. It was made up by incels, who felt sorry for themselves that they weren't some kind of "alphas" themselves, which they imagined to exist but never did lol, not "maybe women don't like me, because I'm a misogynist." Naah... NAAH, that can't be the reason. It's because the alphas catch 'em all.

Because teenagers and even some inexperienced adults irl life lack confidence to do that + these anime are made for boys, it's a away to make the females attractive, can't make the male attractive now can they, that's the shojo territory.

Lol there's no agenda. It's just the easiest way to make relatable characters and an easy way to make the audience root for them. Plus if you watch enough different types of anime you will find many different kinds of male characters and not all of them have those characteristics. If I was you I would focus less on the beta/ alpha male language as it is compelete bs anyways.
"Oh, I wasn't trying to be funny.. I would've put a 'Haha' at the end of it."

I absolutely agree that I've not seen enough anime, but I want a smooth talking confident guy as the protagonist of a romance manga or anime for once that isn't a shoujo...

Just because a guy is cool and confident and good looking doesn't mean he has be the perfect senpai or a celebrity or a sleazy playboy..

I take it personally

It's a way of coping with their own failures as an individual. When in reality, their genes/personality (using synonymously) aren't desirable. Adapt or die out. Wouldn't even call these "men" beta. More like cappa because they need to be knocked further down the alphabet.

@satchoff This... japan is overflowing like no other country in history with an hilariously large abundance of what would be considered beta bitchs, perma-vitgins, and well just plain cowardly ball-less losers. And dont let anime beta defenders try n play that its teens or any crap like that cause it doesnt matter if the mc is 15 or 40 all but a teeny tiny small semi palm full of anime mc can actually qualify as men with actual man balls.
That said go visit japan hell for 2 weeks and mingle with with the sadest most cowardly sub-male losers you have ever met. Put it this way imagine back in HS the biggest most beta like loser now place him in japan and he would be borderline chad and for sure above avg in every way. When i was there one of the jap guys went out for drinks and one of the co-workers got a lil tipsy hugged him from behind just casual flirt and he got this retarded disgusting geeked out face turned beat red couldnt form 2 words together and pretty safe to assume he busted a nut on the spot by the way he acted simply from boobs touching his back in a simple everyday hug. Then we spent the next 2+ weeks hearing bout him talk about her soft boobs touching his back to the point nobody wanted to go near him. It was one of the most pathetic things i have ever witnessed.
