What chapters did this movie adapt?
Imagine normies saying: "Peaky Blinders is mid and overhyped. Just another typical crime drama show. Breaking Bad is much better lol.".

Haven't seen it myself (wrong continent) but from what I've heard:

Chapters 138-151 mostly intact, part of 159, most of 160 and a couple of flashes of 154-155, as well as a few all new scenes.

A little bit, but it mainly focuses on Kaguya and Shirogane. The Ishigami stuff will likely get more attention next season.

Imo this movie was great, but not perfect. Some parts felt anti-climactic despite a massive buildup, and other character moments were a bit frustrating. But overall I had a great laugh (especially in the first half) and there were some sweet moments throughout. 8/10 for me.

I absolutely love this movie and the audience I watched it with. One of the best movie going experiences ever.
It was the first time watching a movie on my own in a cinema (I'm 15) and I usually just watch movies with my family. But this time I knew they weren't going to enjoy it so I had to watch it on my own.
Before the movie started I was nervous for some whatever reason. But as soon as it started and my nervousness was just gone. Every single person in the movie was laughing their ass off including me. Without this kind of audience I would think I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much. 10/10 movie and W Audience

God, this movie reminded me why I love this series so much! Something about the show's ability to express emotions and internal thoughts has been one of the strong points of the show for me and this movie took that to the next level by making the two main leads confront their biggest fears and insecurities.

Everyone's got a persona or two and seeing the two sort of argue it out, in the end, was just beautiful to watch! Kaguya-san really took the charge here and Shirogane-san should count himself lucky that he found a wonderful person in her. I totally get his point of view though, Kaguya is in many ways from another world quite literally and who knows how she'd take it if she finds out his weaknesses, lol. Couldn't see Shirogane initiate to be honest, so it was nice to see the Ice Kaguya version force things open.

Ice Kaguya and Chibi Kaguya were interesting additions to show a bit more of her disconnection from the world because of her harsh upbringing. In particular, loved to see the scenes of normal and chibi Kaguya supporting Ice Kaguya in her sacred quest. Hayasaka being the perfect mediator was a treat to watch, especially that scene of her role-playing, as well, I was hoping she'd get something a bit more too but that's just wishful thinking on my part, I know.

A little bit of focus on Tsubame-san. It feels like the Iino-chan v her battle shall start soon, lol. Wicked start with the "SEX" references and jokes to start the movie, I wasn't sure where this would be going, lmao. What was with that forceful bed scene with Tsubame-senpai though? I had a manga reader friend with me and he told me nothing of the sort happened in the manga, so I'm wondering if it's some sort of a wild interpretation of her struggles or something. Lol to the father btw, didn't know that was his occupation.

Lots of hilarious jokes all around too, the series never really fails to deliver that. Chika's intrusion in multiple scenes was so annoying but that's just her, xD. Little Chika's handcuffs gift was on point, and the remark from Chika claiming herself to be the only "futsu" person from the family got me. Some of Ice Kaguya's attempts were hilarious too, like the deodorant and the homemade lunch.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I think this movie was more engaging than Seasons 2 & 3. Honestly, if there's no sequel from here on, I'd still be able to live with it, the movie had just about enough of a closure imo. Given its popularity though, I think I can rest assured that there will be news of something to come in the series though, lol. I've heard the series takes a little dip, so I wonder what the production committee will come up with. In any case, for now, it's time to put the movie ED on a loop.

Solid 9/10. Definitely going to watch the movie again once the subs come out, there were a few dialogues that were a bit too fast for me to keep up with.

@aboood40091 Ohho, cool, cool! Thanks for the spicy info.

Absolutely amazing movie. Kaguya-sama really never misses. So many hilarious moments had the whole theatre laughing and the development of Shirogane and Kaguya's relationship made the whole experience feel really worthwhile. Now we just need a season four confirmation for life to be perfect.

I saw this in cinemas yesterday and it was amazing. It has the perfect balance of comedy and romance, with the comedy part really being hillarious, everyone in the cinema was bursting out laughing on the comedic scenes.

This movie focuses more on the development of Shirogane and Kaguya after the confession and the kiss on season 3 finale, I was kinda hoping they will touch some of Ishigami, Iino and Tsubame's story but maybe they'll leave that to season 4 instead.

An 8/10 for me and will definitely rewatch this again once it becomes available on CR.

Very good adaptation of the Ice Kaguya arc with just enough of the side cast to satisfy manga readers while still leaving 75% of the audience in the threatre I was in (greetings from the bottom of the world in South America) hoping for a post-credits fourth season announcement that never came. Please.

the Ishigami Christmas Party arc is sadly not there, and for clear movie reasons some standalone chapters like Maki going to India are either skipped or extremely condensed.

The movie feels more like a long special than a movie, like many episodes strung together, while leaving in eye catchers especially in the latter half to make up for the mangas awkward handling of pacing, somewhat recognising the lack of a base structure to build a proper 'movie' on. The animation feels and looks like it was made for television. I don't know if it was a problem locally, but some shots did legitimately look awful because of the sheer amount of upscaling required, basically exposing to the audience that No, the intended way of watching this is not on a massive movie screen because you can see the meters-long pixels coming from Kaguya-Chan's outline. Ironically, audio mixing is on point and elevates the seiyuus and the already brilliant sound direction of this show.

Then again, I love this series, so who cares if it's more like a 1hr30min episode.

To whoever's reading that hasn't watched it, don't skip on the chance of watching Kaguya on the big screen, you don't know if you'll ever get the chance again.

A-1 with time, budget and the resources are the best in the business. Oh my God this was a masterclass . It sucks that I had to drive an hour to the only cinema that was playing it but it was worth every minute.

First of all the comedy landed perfectly, whole theatre was packed and the council of Kaguyas and Chika had them in the palm of their hands. Was legitimately dying at so many points throughout the film. My mom loved the whole “sex” dialogue at the start too lol.

Character wise I’m really proud of my boy miyuki. Just over the course of an hour and a half we saw him grow up so much. Kaguya sticking with her ice cold personality and being determined to make inroads with that persona was awesome too. The final confession and the park bench scene were chef’s kiss. Whole theatre collectively gasped lol.

Miko and Hayasaka moments were as usual great. It’s still fuck Tsubame, but she was decent in the movie . My boy Ishigami deserve his happiness tho.

Overall phenomenal film, perfect encapsulation of what makes Kaguya so great

Absolutely fantastic movie, enjoyed it so much.

The comedy was on point, the character dynamics were on point and I love the characterization for Kaguya and Miyuki that happened here. Their initial battle, to their 'persona', to accepting each other for who they really are while not fully foregoing their 'personas' cause that too is part of them.

The internal Kaguya's strife's were hilarious.

I have nothing but praise for this, it's worth it and releasing it on Valentine's Day was a nice touch too.

This isn’t the first time that there was anime only scenes. the third season when chika and her friends were looking out the window to see what was in the tower was also anime only.

I don't think it was the kiss scene, rather after it, the movie had panels with Akasaka sensei's art which I assumed were from the manga, showing student council characters including Chika iirc.

An amazing adaptation of the aftermath of Season 3 of the series, the writing confidently steps into a new phase of the show by proudly proclaiming that these characters are from complete and resolute. Their struggles will only become more nuanced with time, but if they're presented with this much flare, comedy, and heart-pounding drama, then the series is something I hope never ends.

Just got back from the theater tonight and wow! They really did a fantastic job with this arc in this movie. Hit all the right beats it needed to. Fantastic job. As expected, the anime and voice acting bring this series to even higher heights than the manga. And that is saying something. In other words, just a masterpiece. Everyone in the theater loved it. 10/10 for sure.

woooo man! not the movie i was expecting! watching it again tonight, i really really loved it :) watching it last night, i didn't get ANY of what i was expecting! no crazy plans, barely any embarrassed blushing, and no ultra confidence from Shirogane just to name a few! i NEVER get tired of those things (ノ≧∇≦)ノ ミ ┸┸ what was fucking cool about watching it last night though was that the kiss in the park got a round of applause :D :D :D i thought that was super rad. yeah, this movie had it's funny moments, but it got pretty heavy. watching Shirogane struggle with his lack of confidence in himself was difficult. seeing him like that always me wanna shout at the screen and tell him he's not in such bad shape and to keep forging ahead. it sucks cause we as the audience know that he's a stand up guy, yet it's incomprehensible to him; that's how that shit works though :/ after all he's accomplished, he still gets down on himself. that's rough, but nobody is gonna be able to convince Shirogane of his own self-worth except Shirogane. Watching Shinomiya mature emotionally was also super cool. she gave Shirogane a hard time in the beginning; but at the same time... COME ON MAN! IF YOU DON'T KNOW, BE STRAIGHTFORWARD AND ASK! i wanna see that so bad!!!! even though i love this story so much, i'd be ok with it ending in a single episode if all they did was that hahaha :P anyways, back to it.... Shinomiya took a big risk, exposing her true self like that; but something had to give in order for them to progress in their relationship. it took a lot of guts for her to risk rejection the way she did. i was glad to see that Shirogane's lack of confidence didn't prevent them from getting together. i was surprised to see them become boyfriend and girl so soon! i thought we'd have a longer struggle :) maybe it's longer in the book. either way, i'm cool with it. i wonder what dating is gonna be like for them. i'm looking forward to seeing what's on the horizon. and more and more i want Iino and Ishigami to get together!!! come on! i hope that happens!!!

i'm so stoked to read that other people had fantastic movie theater experiences as well :D :D :D watching anime on a big screen with a bitchin' sound system in a room full of fans really is the best XD

Now this right here is Kaguya sama at it's peak. Now I don't want to write an essay so will keep it short and just say both of their insecurities were portrayed well and they finally managed to show it to the other and truly get together. I'm so happy for them. Things will be so much fun now that they are together. Loved the comedy moments in between too, Kaguya sama never miss with those. Looking forward to upcoming season.

Honestly my first time ever watching an anime at a movie theater, and it was pretty empty lol, not that it was a problem. I binged the rest of season 3 the day before watching this movie, and it was the right call lol.
The op of the movie is hella banging lol.

Random comments from me throughout the movie lol:
Lol Kaguya lost her braincells after the kiss huh. Or more like, she malfunctioned lolol. Her mentality kinda went downhill after that but it worked out later in the end. Ai and Kaguya spamming sex in the chat too xD

It's funny how Miyuki also got diagnosed with "love-sickness" lolol.

Holy crap Kaguya is a parkour master lmao, she zoomin'.

The bite of '87 happened at Chika's party lolol.

It's interesting how many times the moon appears in the movie, I think it's probably a nod to the Kaguya moon legend thing, which is pretty cool.

Kaguya and Miyuki finally getting together after all the trials and tribulations, very nice! All the kiss scenes were really something, the added in omph factors to those moments.

Kaguya and Miyuki both had problems where they couldn't be honest with themselves and each other, being "cowards" one would say, but after they spent some time sorting things out, they were able to get past those issues and get together. Kaguya had a really rough upbringing as a child, being strictly disciplined, and as a result, she developed many "sides" of her, putting on "masks" for the given situation. Miyuki felt the same, as if he wanted to be recognized by others, he would have to work extremely hard to the point of passing out, risking his health. He feels like he's putting on a mask as well when he tries this hard, it feels like he doesn't have a choice.

There were also the usual misunderstandings but good thing Miyuki realized what was up.

I can't wait to see what's in store for future sequels.

Never ending plan to watch list...

I really enjoyed this, found it very funny and rather mature in following on from S3’s ending

That being said the ending felt strangely sudden and the narration felt a little downbeat even though it seemed to be trying to be mature?

Last thoughts, I wonder what’s next, presumably another season?
And I’m really left wondering what happens next with the Ishigami love triangle? What was that flashback about that Tsubame had?

I too just saw the first two parts tho I am in Japan have been too busy with work and the renewed rise in all aspects of our industry since COVID has sort of passed no time at all to see the film.

I love this series as one of the finest evocations of what anime is best at and that no other media or medium touches as well...the heart, the mind, the soul and the funny bone of any resaonably awake and aware human being man woman or child. this is this series at its finest and going on and on further. I cant wait to see the rest of it. I am so glad many seem to have been able to have that wonderful theatre experience here and abroad and that it is such a joyful ongoing part of this superb series and title.

Well done Author, Studio, Directors, Art Directors Music Directores VA and all. and esp the staff that make it all happen. well done.

Happy New Year to all.Spring is just around the corner and we had the earliest Sakura season almost ever and much enjoyed.

We can finally watch this! Nice! Somewhat...

I really love how there's actually a sequel after that kissing scene but I dislike it for being a movie which took us months (as always) for those who are outside... 👀 then they got the nerve to cut it into episodes... 🤦😑 well played as always. I'm still grateful nonetheless and it's rare to get to watch an actual movie back then on a streaming platform where you can simply view it free of charge (probably).😅

Now to wait for the rest of the episodes as there are only 2 episodes currently available at the moment...

Update: April 3, 2023
Episode 3 & 4 are up!

I really love this story, this anime, all the characters, etc. The concept of TRUE LOVE, really is, a wonderful thing to have.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

I think from chapter 140 to 151 which cover the "Ice Kaguya" arc.

Haven't seen it myself (wrong continent) but from what I've heard:

Chapters 138-151 mostly intact, part of 159, most of 160 and a couple of flashes of 154-155, as well as a few all new scenes.
That means we will get at least 2 more season considering that the manga has finished with 280 chapters
