First of all I love AOT and I like it's anime adaptations too so my 10 points are given. But somehow I imagined these chapters differently. When I read the manga it had a big impact on me it was brutal and absolutely terrifying. I didn't feel this with the anime. Maybe because of the long time I waited for it or maybe it was just in my mind that the story was darker and more desperate... No matter I enjoyed watching it anyway.

there were some scenes I didn't like specifically the romance but overall this is truly a masterpiece 🔥

I can't wait for the finale and this time I'm seriously sad that I have to wait so long for the ending

This episode can rather be called a psychological terror, a demonstration of how effective gore porn is for the viewer, the hair on my arms stood up because of how detailed the scenes of the manga were taken over by the folder, and it perfectly achieved its goal, if you step on it, it's over instantly, if next to it you step on fire.. the chance of survival is zero
The fact that the final season was cut up so much could be better, it should be stretched out rather than condensed and written down like in the case of Neverland.
However, I really hope that the anime gets an alternative ending and differs from the manga ending, or that it is supplemented so that it has a meaningful ending, because if it doesn't happen like that, the fans will cut a vein and I'll laugh at the end.

I watched this episode and was glad to have finally an hour long one, because the plot can't be depicted in small slices.
The animation is pretty great, even if I don't like how faces are drawn by the author (which is translated by the studio in a lighter way). I had a really great time watching this episode.
We can all agree that it's a great episode for those who have read the manga. OST on the other hand has always been crappy and never used properly by the studio.

But I'm not really here to talk about the episode but about some reactions I read about this episode, and people going nuts spreading hate and justification of violence.

The first word that is used is freedom, freedom freedom freedom : many people say that Eren is right to kill them all because they tried to take freedom away, and it's the rightful thing to do no matter if it's a fiction or reality. We don't need a long debate to understand from who's mouth it's coming from ... (red hats english-speaking person from a federal country)
I'm sorry but you don't resolve a situation of oppression by killing everyone else. Ukraine policy actually is a proof of what's the right answer : "go back to where you're from, and don't bother us again, we won't retaliate". The answer is not to kill everyone, like too many people seems to agree with. Seriously people, you do realize that you agree to be a collateral damage of a war and being fine with it ? that's insane.

Second thing that shock me a bit : this considered as a Shônen here. A Shônen ; this ? for a 7-10 year old kid ? We are talking about genocide in good conscience, oppression, camps like Auschwitz (Marh camps) and how the author sees it. It's not for a 10 yo kid. It's for teenager with a good knowledge of history at least, so it's a Seinen (and considered in Seinen by my printer's country).
I'm not an overprotective father (not even a father), but you can't get you mind around this without being a bit educated.
Look at some Shônen like MHA : it's about hero (good) and vilains (bad), and they added a bit of grey to be considered, because it's too complicated for a kid to understand. Here the base is very dark, with a bit of grey.

Last : people seems to be kind to Eren and say it's the best char of all time.
You have a very low esteem of what a human being is. Eren is selfish angry kid who defend what he loves no matter the consequences. He's ready to kill the whole planet to save just two people, Mikasa and Armin. As a kid we would beat the crap of anybody peeking at him or his friend Armin. As a teenager, he planned to kill a whole city (Revelio) and now he is murdering the whole world, even his own people living abroad, just to save a few of them.
Armin is more of a human being than Eren is. He did some awful things but he knows that it's really a crime, he just tried to avoid a worse massacre every time Eren goes nuts. Eren is just a shell filled with rage, ready to go after anyone who touches him. He just went to "I'll kill all Titans" to "I'll kill everyone because I managed to get all Titans killed, so I need to apply my hate on someone else".

Some last words : English (not my native language but I'm pretty fluent all things considered), has the worst title translation of all time for this manga/anime. "Attack on Titan" doesn't reflect at all what this is about. In my language it's translated "Attack of Titans", which is plural and the attack it done by titans, which is actually better. "Assault" would have been an even better one, but you can't have it all (take that Eren).

The amazing thing about this masterpiece is that is extremely educative for the entire human race, I could have never imagined to use the word "educative" to a such large scale. Everyone should watch this, to learn where the hatred can lead to, in its extreme consequences. We are not extinct yet, we are still in time to understand.

I love that we get to see the war and the sinful nature of man addressed in such a powerful action-packed story. From season 1 Attack on Titan was shocking but with commander Erwin's speech in season 3 and Hange's death in this part 4 I couldn/t believe just how beautifully the author and team have been able to capture the truest strength of us as humans beings, our light - the potential to sacrifice ourselves for others out of love, duty, and depth of belief in a mission or ideal greater than ourselves. We are people the enemy is hatred and fear and ignorance. Yes, genocide is always wrong but let us not forget where it begins. I am in awe of this show, I really have no notes. saw it freshman year of high school at 14, and 23 now, and wow I can't wait to rewatch from the beginning and see what I missed. I had already this year seen season 4 a bunch just on reaction videos and stuff but I definitely want to sit down with some who haven't had the pleasure of meeting Armin and Mikasa and Erwin and Hange. Man! everyone is so well written I even have so much love for Jean and Reiner now, it's crazy. God bless, and love this community too. :)

I know you are mostly talking about the Armin x Annie apart it felt out of place and cringy indeed. You can't really compare snk in the past to this one as the one in the past had no romance if there was any it was subtle.

I don't think snk does well with the in your face romance.

I am glad they're dedicating lots of time to adapting the ending, it's been a while since I read the last chapter but I remember it feeling really rushed so I have my fingers crossed that they do it better in the adaptation.

Insane. Can’t describe how incredible the 3 episodes were. My heart is dying for Hange though ;(. If I had one complaint, it would be the music. Some songs just didn’t fit the action however, I can’t fault them for getting only one thing minutely wrong when 99% was perfect.

Can’t wait till next episode.. even if it is months away again 😂😅🥹

A lot of the actual conflict in this episode feels contrived and basically just comes off as being catch up to refresh peoples memories before the final episode. Animation was really good though and I liked how everyone was given their own little moments.
