| They are different. Waifu mostly based from bias opinion but Best Girl is based from what they does in the storyline and not argue it is fact. In the end, Waifu ≠ Best Girl but Best Girl = Waifu. So I prefer to Best Girl. |

"Best girl" is restricted to your favourite girl from a particular series or author; while "waifu" refers to the girl you consider your soulmate, the one you would like to marry if possible. There can be a "best girl" from each series, but you can only have one waifu. Of course your waifu will always take precedence. |

| If you want to make some clear distinction between two then you should explain the difference in detail in your original post. Otherwise most people here think it is the same thing. I remember older people in Russia used to make distinction between wife and lover. | I prefer my best girl. Here's why A waifu has a number of restrictions, they're self inserted, but still apply. You should protect her and not lewd her. You should be loyal to her only. Finally you need to support her in her quest to win the heart of her love interest (male MC) I think that polygamy is possible in theory. although it's nearly impossible in reality, in fiction it's something I appreciate and look forward to. So having a harem in stead of a waifu and lewding every best girl that appeals to you, as I've done with both Marin Kitagawa and Yor Forger, is more suitable for me. |
