I'm actually glad that this anime has 2 cours. But if it's just one cour, this episode would be a nice stop anyway.

The Raichi guy, I already checked before that he doesn't have the same voice actor as Bakugo, but after this episode end I've to go check again just in case I forget, nope, still different voice actor. But the similarity is uncanny!

I guess at some point Itoshi Rin will go against his brother, Saetoshi Rin.

I hope Noel Noa will make a proper appearance.

Wait what? He’s not Bakugo?
I was 100% sure it was… Geez
Besides, Raichi has gone Plus Ultra in this episode

Yeah Raichi shares the same VA as Kirito

3.5/5

Best episode so far without a doubt. Some good progression, reveals & twists along with great action ferocity. The first half was very tense and frantic, which I was looking forward to from the very first episode.

The animation were mostly fluid but too many stills and jarring CGI still haunts this production. Although, to be fair the vital scenes were beautifully animated with great art or whatever but still nothing above average. Everybody had their respective shine but Isagi's unlock moment had me guessing until it was revealed. I thought it was gonna be some "future sight" bullshit he was alluding to last episode but nope, it was just a regular direct shot as he called it or in proper footballing terms, VOLLEY. Team Z emerged victorious and even bitchass Kuon got to celebrate, although not without getting his arse rightly kicked by the loud-mouth. I kinda starting to like this guy xD

The twist near the end caught me off-guard a bit and I should've seen it coming in all honesty. Ego needs more screen time because this guy is really twisted but calculated, a quirk i generally fuck with. Everybody is on their own for this second selection and I feel like it's a good segue to the next arc or storyline

Wow such a nice last push coming from them, the face detailed animation really on-point. Then its ended up with a direct shot from Isagi, self-aware of that kinda be a good stop for this first cour. After all, its depends on how Isagi grow to awaken his own weapon. So yeah, but hahaha that punch to Kuon idk why but i laugh with it. they were being fooled, idk why its also not surprising coming from Ego Jinpachi. He always had something hidden so yeah not surprising at all.

So yeah in the end, second selection incoming, one more character appear to show off. Let's see if its more banger than what they've done previously...

An outstanding win against Team V but also quite unhappy that they are going to play individually and not as a team from now on.

Mixed Feelings...

First 5 minutes.. 11/10...

Then the OP starts and i think it was the worst moment, cause it literally killed the great atmosphere of that moment...

Also, after that.. just a good episode, with what i think a bare (not enough/clear) explanation, cause i see many people ended confused and lost after the players/building explanation.

The truth is that I already expected the result of that match against the V team but in the same way I loved how Isagi found his true strength, which is direct shots

What are you looking forward to with the second phase, I already want to see it

This show is INSANE man oh my goodness. I am sweating!!

The end of that game was so dramatic, I loved it. Nothing to complain about 10/10.

Although I did get a little bit confused this episode. Is every building just called "building 5"? The players in the other buildings still have higher rankings right? Or did they all believe they were the lowest?

So only 25 players, huh? That's good, if every other team afterwards had to have a player crazier than the one hyped before, I imagine the scaling could have gotten ridiculous.

There are still 125 players. There are 5 Team Vs, 5 Team Ws, and so on. Teams B to U do not exist. Everyone belonged to the 'bottom stratum' (V to Z).

Thank you!! I was getting really confused haha. So everyone believed they were the bottom-ranked, damn!

Stage 1 isn't terrible, but I wouldn't be too upset if they skipped it. It'd avoid a lot of "how did so and so players managed to pass stage 1?" complaints.

Huh, so the whole Building 5 concept was a ruse, I was kinda expecting that since otherwise the show would have gone for much longer.

Nice last shot, but more impressive was Raichi's run to mid field. He should be able to score now, right.

Oh, apparently I did some "googling" and Noel Noa is jsut a fictional character. Too bad, maybe they could have used other real examples but there would probably be some legal issues with that I guess.

Now it's time for the second selection and a new challenger approaches.

PS: Tomorrow's the final!!!!

If any of the real-life players used as examples in the show were to actually interact with the fictional cast in Blue Lock, things would be quite weird with that real<>fake dichotomy, even setting aside potential licensing issues. Anyone shown as a world-class player that was actually intended to be a part of the series will also be a fictional character.

of course they win. no surprises there.

but the twist though lol. there's only building 5 in blue lock. though i didn't understand what was the point of first seelection if everyone just gets opportunity to participate in second stage? read through the posts and understood what it really is.

second stage is even more difficult than stage one? that should be interesting to see.

Where is Itoshi Rin all this time ? For which team Itoshi Rin play ?

Yeah, I know that wouldn't work if they interacted with other, but take into account that they have already used real life examples before. That's what I was referring to, as the reader/watcher could then look them up and go over they story for themselves (if this makes any sense).

The reveal actually fixed a minor nitpick that I thought I was going to have with the show, and that would be its power-scaling. We have players in "building 5" who are already insane, so that really made me wonder how strong those in "building 1" were. It seemed as though as if you could choose ANYONE from that group and they'd already be fit to be Japan's top striker. I for one am thankful that that is not the case, and instead everyone is on the same level (more or less, lol), and will be growing and improving alongside each other.

Awesome; i can't wait to see how this ends up. this show is so good but i can't really place how or why and i don't even like soccer. i had a feeling that it was all a lie since it would be insane to manage that many tiers, now it's all on them individually to advance. how will that shake up the teams and their dynamics?

No, there are 25 surviving players from each building and 30 each sent home, for 125 total making it to the second selection. All 5 buildings were all labeled as "the 5th", but they are all still separate each with their own batch of 55 players. Itoshi Rin is from Team V in one of the other buildings.
