For those wondering how many years has gone by:

If we assume about 20 years between each generation of Hayase's lineage, it goes Hisame the 1st successor (8 years) + child, 2nd successor, child, 3rd succ, child, 4th succ, child, 5th succ, child, and now Kahaku the 6th successor. 8 + 20*9 + however old Kahaku is... let's say 16, just to guess. 204 years. Perhaps all descendants became mothers at the age of 17 or even younger, idk. I'm also realizing that each successor had to die in order for Hayase's fye to transfer, so none of them lived past like the age of 40...

On another interesting note, the anime brought back Hayase's voice actor to play Kahaku.

Pretty good episode. This episode simply reiterates the fact that time is a non factor for Fushi and years and years can come and go with a blink of an eye. The nonchalance with all these time skips, Fushi procrastinating and/or gaining knowledge, pretty interesting to watch.

Crazy time skip hahaha, I really surprised when they say Hisame's daughter, what...but yeah I know it will stop once they find the special one and here he is, Kahaku...so what is the goal now? In the end of the day they're all will be dead first because Fushi is immortal and how to eradicate all of the Knocker?

Episode 2 maintains the extremely high pace of the first episode. Judging by the preview, things are about to settle down, time will stop skipping, so that a proper story can develop. I hope, at least. We need some characters we can care about.

This ep was sad again. You can definitely tell the recurring theme that will just keep happening with all the deaths lol. Also the 6th successor. Can someone tell me how much time passed in the episode so I can get a reference? My guess is like around half a century but no more than an entire century has gone by. But I could be wrong.

40 years in solitude and how many wandering? I wonder if he read a book on making babies.

Wish I could lose weight like Fushi.

I'm not a fan of the artwork, but I did love it when Fushi put his head on his hand and said otoko. Better art and it might've even been sexy.

My guessn is a century maybe more. I was thinking Hisane's daughter said she was born when Hisane was 17 and let's say the daughter was also 17 (looked older to me), that's at least 34 years right there. It's when they brought in the rest that it got confusing, but most seemed to be teens. I guessed 84 years with the last girl. The boy looks maybe 16-ish. I couldn't find it on the fandom unfortunately.

Why the hell was Fushi fat in this episode? LOL

Also is the manga this rushed? I mean we time skipped like 150 years into the future.

Doesnt seem like the world evolved too much though.

Decent episode overall

yes the Manga is pretty fast paced

I guess deaths don't mean much this season, and the story is bolting ahead in speed. timeskips every 2 minutes like it's some daydream story in a 10 year old's head.
This show had such a good First Episode in Season 1, but then the series seemed to go elsewhere after that, and that was fine too, but since Season 2 started, this series just seems to be off the rails in terms of the direction it's going.
Disappointing.

I'm sad that Tonari had to die after one episode, that was quite disappointing. I wanted to see her being a badass for a little longer. instead we get more of Hisame's weird storyline with the Gaurdians. the generational will and the fucking Nokker living in each person's arm was sick

Interesting that the cliff hanger of a male descendent shows up, I'm excited to see the experiences he has with Fushi. but I'm honestly hoping the story makes Fushi asexual rather than gay. If he isn't interesting in parenthood and procuring offspring, then he could simply have no interest in sex, which is a reasonable trait anyway. but gay Fushi could be cool too lmao

How glad was I seeing Tonari back after the timeskip, though only to watch her depart just an episode later. The template of this series is to mess with your emotions, and as usual they doing that.
big facts, how are they going to reintroduce her just to kill her off painfully RIP Tonari

Am i the only one confused by how they count the successors? Shouldn't Hisame have been the 2nd successor & her mom the first successor?

Welp, seeing a 9yo ask a fully grown man to have his child was weird enough, but then we got the guy in the robe who was like "yo your dick works, you totally could have banged that 9yo if you wanted" as the proverbial charry on top.

Strangest scene ever.

This episode felt so rushed…. It makes me really worried. Also did they just gloss over Rean’s death? Did I miss something? Her form was the same as when we last saw her, meaning she died sometime right after that. What happened to her?… This just felt like a mess :’ (

Oh no, Rean. Not you... :'(

That's it for Tonari? Really? They bring her back only to kill her that fast? It's true that I wasn't a fan of her younger version, but her adult version did look cool. Come on, at least give me some more time to feel sad about her death.

And so on for the whole episode. Tonari died, Hisame wanted to have Fushi's child, then we saw her daughter who was already pregnant, and then we saw many more descendants until we ended up with a male version of Hayase. Like with episode one, I feel like too much happens in too little time.

Seeing the female descendants go after Fushi was hilarious though.

Neither Hisame nor Fushi knowing how to make a child was pretty funny too. And of course the guy in black suggesting that if he was interested in testing his reproductive organs, he should go to a town lol.

Also, fat Fushi xD.

Wait, what about Rean? She just died off-screen at some point D: That beginning part sure hit hard.

We got quite a big time skip here. I wonder if author considered science progress with such a long span of story?
All those new mini-Hayases were fun. I'm a bit disappointed its a guy now. I guess it will be the end of line - otherwise they wouldn't make such a change and on top of it stop timeskip here.

Ya that stuck out to me. It seems like she died shortly after we last saw her. I wonder what the hell happened??

Am i the only one who is disgusted by the idea that Fushi probably banged Hisame? And potentially all of Hayases descendants? Hisames daughter said she was born when Hisame was 17. That means she got pregnant by 16. The question is if she already was 16 when she slept with Fuji. Since its anime and it gets broadcasted in TV they cannot make things like this clear.

So what's the deal with Pioran? We see her old form in the mirror during one of this episode's montages. But I distinctly remember her asking The Beholder during last season's finale to change her body and soul so that Fushi could invoke a form of her "that would be useful to him." So shouldn't we have seen young Pioran instead? Did that whole plot point just get dropped or something?

It is fast. But it was the same in the manga, so I don't think it has anything to do with the staff change

p.s hayase n her whole bloodline being stalker is just not sitting right w me💀 the whole guardian thing is just a fancy word for surveillance, keeping track on fushi's every move ready to pounce on him treating him like a premium baby making machine 💀

The first half of this episode was terrible. We bring back one of the only characters who survived Season 1, just to kill them off within a couple minutes? What was the point? Then having her dying wish being for Fushi to give this overwrought recap of the first season was ridiculous. The whole thing was such a cheap attempt at cry bait. Terrible writing.

I really hope the things manga readers were hyping up about this season start coming soon, this is close to drop zone for me now after that.

Nah, I had to check my player to make sure I didn't leave it on 2x or 4x speed while watching this episode. It should have been split into two or three, to be honest. That was blisteringly fast paced. I didn't know there was a director change, but I knew something was different with this season from the get go. That probably explains it. We've still got 18 episodes to go, so here's hoping the rest of the season doesn't feel like this.

I don't like the pacing of this. I didn't read the manga but it feels as if the anime is blasting through the source material. They could've made multiple episodes based on the events of this episode alone. I swear, not even 5 seconds go by without some form of dialogue or exposition, doesn't give enough time to take a breather and process what just happened which cheapens the experience a bit.

Despite all that,

Dude, this episode stressed me out. It was overwhelming. -And we didn't even really get a chance to reflect on that

What is this bullshit, they bring back tonari only to immediately kill her off?

They give us 5 minutes of developement with Hayases creepy grandchild only to kill her offscreen as well, while also skipping the next 2 ones in 5 seconds.

So another ~50 years time skip casually at the end of the episode?

Honestly I dont feel this season at all. This is all over the place and serves absolutely no purpose.

Animation quality dropped even more since the last episode. Pacing is horrible. No emotional weight to anything, I felt nothing watching this. I can't do this for a third episode so I'm just gonna drop this before it gets any worse.

I've read fanfiction written better this this... but I guess the manga was just as bad, damn. What a waste, this could've been something great. At least they didn't waste any money on a new OP, money saved I guess. /sad
