It’s funny that you seem to think all the younger (beta??) weebs are the ones liking this. Everyone I’ve seen that hates this show is 19 or younger.

If you haven’t had dumb, horny, pie in the face experiences, failing to live up to expectations of family as someone in your twenties then you’re that much more likely to dislike this.

Lots of high school kids watching anime want an underdog mc with a cool backstory to impress themselves on and this isn’t it which is why every time someone gets on here and posts a shitty take like this they almost always are at a peach fuzz age. They don’t like this cause they don’t want to believe their future could be this pathetic.

Everyone thinks they’re gonna be slick and have shit together in their twenties, but in actuality Kazuya is a caricature of what it’s like flopping around at that age which makes it cathartic for anyone past that stage.

I see, yeah, I don't get the big popularity this series has either, I think most of the series isn't even that special. Maybe it is because of the kinda original premise of rental girlfriends and the accesibility for being a romcom, I'm also not too sure myself.

Do not deny your existence of being a beta, accept who you are, and you need not make excuses that its the story's fault (which I can kinda see) and live in a facade that is nothing but hypocrisy and self denial.

(Kazuya is the only character I like in this show, and at the same he also has moments where I dont support but all in all when he gives his all like that, sometimes hit me)

That's so true cause I AM Kazuya at 20. Never had success girls since I started trying at 16. I used to do more when I was younger but gave up/couldn't do a lot of my hobbies anymore once I got to college. Grades are ass in college and I been feeling pretty defeated for years. I've spent so much time by myself I'm pretty used to it although the rejections I've been getting have been stinging more the older I get because I could've been experiencing love/dating/sex for years now like many of my peers have if my reputation/confidence/social skills were a little better growing up. It's like so much time has been wasted but it's up to the girl at the end of the day. I can only do so much on my end to be "presentable" and liked.

I tried my best last year to put myself out there at my new college this Jr year and no (girls) one stuck around. Almost thought I was gonna have a girlfriend but it didn't work out like the last 20-30 times although I def got the closest I ever did (hanging out in dorms, drinking, touching, sexy talk, sharing our interest/personal things) but I ended up being entertainment/company for her in her LDR's absence and cut me off. It's nice to see Kazuya actually have a shot at winning and just being happy. In IRL some people will be very late to the game (first GF at 26/27) and some will die unhappy. It's so frustrating and I'm reaching my limit. So sometimes it's nice to see someone like Kazuya actually have a chance at winning once in his life in a significant way.

That's VIP chapter, although the one i am talking about is latest episode, which was something very awkward, cringe and funny at the same time, Like everything after bathroom scene (or monologues of kazuya while in bathroom) and kazuya's imagination (of ruka, after 15-16 min). Just watch it, you'll get it yourself.
