| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS EPISODE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yang's observation is spot on. As much as I'd like to think that Reinhard is leading this reform for the people and for the sake of the whole Empire, part of it is just to appeal to the population and gain their support. This hit me when he chose to not kill the child emperor, not because he's harmless, but rather to avoid people turning against him. It'd be interesting to see how Yang prepares to fight back, the same way he fought back the coup. It's also good to see that some characters like the Twin Pillars and Hilde realize that Reinhard's reforms seem off/somewhat rushed. Overall good episode. |

| Reinhart is making sweeping reforms that the people seem to enjoy, but the nobles don't seem too happy about sharing their wealth and possessions with commoners. Like Yang said, It's only a matter of time before Reinhard usurps the child emperor by having him abdicate the throne when he gets a little older making Reinhard the sole ruler of the new democratic empire. What was up with that dog? It seems like he was following everyone around until he decided to go with Oberstein. lol. |

| did we have an episode like this in the old OVA, i dont rmememeber many of the scenes here, i did like it though, i remember wanting to see the reaction of the common people to Reinhards new type of autocracy, the one that makes him a flawed democracys worst enemy due to the title we getting to the battle that ive wanted to see remade for a long time gotta say though i kinda miss the name titles that usually appeared in the old OVA, LOGH names can be difficult to remember |

| Somehow in the new version the contrast between the high tech of the military and technology and then the rustic and primitive Imperial provinces seems more jarring. Maybe because of the cleanness of the CGI. Oberstein's dog makes his appearance! |

| This episode was quite mundane compared to previous episodes. It was mainly focused on Reinhard reforming the empire by gaining favor from the people and he's rather moving smoothly & quickly. And there's the side plot with the dog and ending up as Oberstein's pet. It wasn't great but an alright episode. |

| So that's how Oberstein got the dog lol We didn't have an episode like this in the OVA. The pacing is really chill which makes me wonder how they're gonna adapt the rest of the season, with just 20 episodes remaining. |

| Great episode again, when Reinhardo-sama was touching his chest instead of his necklace I was wondering if they changed it but its still the same at the end. Better get used to it, this move will make history, again. Oberstein gets his dog and the admirals gossip about it, lovely. Episodes like these are my favourite, LoGH was always at its best when the Empire got the focus and Yang was reduced to making comments from the side. Maybe this adaptation will actually make the alliance POV better, there was certainly room for improvement in the original one. Kid emperors looked like he was taking drugs, or is it just me? |

| It looks like some scenes have been expanded from the novel and from the OVA as well, especially related to Reinhard's reforms. Pretty nice. |
| Glad to see one of my favorite themes from LOGH finally in play. It's best summed up by the reformers' debate in the limo. While Reinhard is providing reforms that are good for the people of the Empire & amenable to most parties involved, the question becomes whether this is how he envisions the universe he seeks to rule or if it's simply a means to the end of another ambition. Autocracy is perhaps one of the most double edged forms of governance as its quality entirely rests on the shoulders of one man's character. |

| It's fascinating to see how people react to the reforms Reinhard has put in place. I would have expected he'd be more enthusiastic about the people who support him, but now that Kircheis is gone, Reinhard appears so hollow most of the time. The dog is so smart tho, he is living the life now. The dog took the work smarter, not harder saying seriously lmao. |
