| From the last impression I had of them in novels: (only 5 isekais make it) 1. Subaru - goes through a storm of character development and also anti-development! 2. Rudeus - grows up, literally and metaphorically 3. Sophia Keren - flawed, imperfect but regal. Monster, but the most human 4. Kazuma - most entertaining of them all 5. Badigadi - because he's Badigadi duh 6. Emilia - because she's a paradox of many qualities - strong & delicate, cute & badass etc etc etc 7. Kumoko - most complex isekai protagonist I've experienced 8. Ariel - best granny ever. 9. Tanya - most unique traits of a protagonist, worthy of being a subject of character study 10. Garfiel/Otto - Garf gets more and more likeable. And everyone needs an Otto in their lives. |

| Yoji Itami (GATE, 2015-2016) Sho Zama (Aura Battler DUNBINE, 1983-1984) Both shows were "interesting" IMO and had protagonists that couldn't have been more different but were similar too. Itami being a closet bad ass but generally ambivalent everyday Otaku more interested in going to a manga convention than saving two worldlines but always rises above it all. Sho Zama, just a kid minding his own business riding a motorcycle who has to power Bio Mecha using his "Aura" and saving (trying to) Byston Wells that bleeds in and out of our reality and the other and he's forced to be a Hero. Neither were too whiny, they just got shit done. |

| In the long run if counting novels, then it's Rudeus but if it's only the anime run that's counting, then I would go with Iruma from Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, although that could be another thing where I'm not sure if he counts or not. He did technically end up going from the human to the demon world so I'll say it does. Not counting characters who were not transported/reincarnated/summoned and were already in the world in the first place. |

| I didn’t explore a lot of isekai animes nowadays so imma focus solely on Mushoku Tensei, Roxy is one of them because she's very mature, Eris in terms of her emotions and Rudeus because he's an absolute chad and his development in the 2nd cour is just chef’s kiss. |

| Gonna make a plug for Muller, a.k.a. Myura, from Isekai Cheat Magician. Strong and attractive. Interestingly, this elf girl and master swordswoman is the down-to-earth (in the other world) member of the main cast. Also, Fuu Hououji, from Magic Knight Rayearth, but really all three Rayearth protags are great. |
