Anyways my most hated character would be Satoru from Erased. Absolutely loathed him from episode 1 as soon as he ran away from a crime scene he didn't commit (and has proof he didn't commit) like a little bitch thus condemning us to the most insufferable "mystery" story in anime history.

That's the problem. I do love rem, but the anime cuts out so much of her flaws that it paints her in a much better light. I've heard so many people praise her in the anime, but shit on her in the light novels. (which is interesting since the characters are the same) That's why, IMO, she's overrated, not because I don't see why people like her, (although there are stupid reasons that people like her and only do so because they feel bad that Subaru said he loved emilia and not her) but the anime mitigates so much negative shit due to time constraints, and the fans can only see a fraction of what this character entails. That's what anime can only do: show a fraction of the original source material, and since there are people who only watch the anime, the fraction of the character that they see is what they're going to base their opinions off of because the bigger picture can't be presented to them in the anime. Oh, and don't even get me started on arc 7 Rem.

I disagree. I think Ram is worse than her. Spolier warning: She doesn't love Rem at all in the ln no matter how much the story paints it that way. In arc 2, she deemed herself and Rem as pawns for Roswaal's schemes. She fell in love with Roswaal despite him playing a huge role in fucking up Rem's life. In arc 4, she was willing to abandon Rem and had the balls to say that she would want to be sacrificed for Roswaal's sake. What's worse is that in the failed loops, everytime someone was about to beat the shit out of Roswaal, (rightfully so) she intervenes and sticks up for him. What's even more disgusting is that after Subaru stangles him and gets knocked out by Garfiel, Ram shamelessly confesses to him that had it been her who attacked him, she would've killed him. Then, in arc 6, this woman has the lady balls to act like she cares about Rem when again she had no qualms sacrififcing her little sister for Roswaal. Before anyone can say Rem was erased, so Ram doesn't remember her, here's the thing. She managed to understand and comprehend the bond she has with Rem just by looking at her, but that didn't stop her from leaving her baby sister to die anyway. What do people see in Ram that makes her better than Rem. Because she isn't a simp to the MC? She simps over the man who killed her parents. Her shtick is literally "Roswaal, Roswaal, Roswaal, Roswaal, Roswaal." Then it shifts to "Rem, Rem, Rem, Rem, Rem, Rem, Rem, Rem" in arc 6. Plus, reaction fics make me hate her more, because she has the AUDACITY to get angry at the witch cult for killing Rem constantly and turning her into a vegetable, but STILL be in love with Roswaal who is the MAIN REASON FOR ALL OF THAT HAPPENING! Hell, the trauma that Rem suffered as a child was because Roswaal let the oni race nearly go extinct and wanted to use Ram and Rem as pawns for his schemes to resurrect his teacher. Also, had he not hired Betelegues to attack the Irlam village, NONE of arc 3 and 4 would be happening. Hell, what's even more fucked up is that Roswaal hired Elsa in arc 1 as an obstacle for Subaru and Emilia. The funny thing is, Ram was actually killed by Elsa as well. The only reason she's alive is because Al used his authority to save her. The woman almost didn't get past arc 1, and it's because the man she's in love with. Her love for Roswaal is stockholm syndrome, and her love for her is borderline an obsession. Neither twins "love" each other in the most earnest way possible. Plus, even if you want to take away all of this shit, her personality is being an arrogant, narcississtic, shit talker. That's all she does, and it's SO REPETIVE. How do people not mute her whenever she talks in the anime? How can people not want to wear a blindfold when they read her dialogue? It's one of the main reasons why I can't stand arc 7 Rem at the beginning. I get it, people shit talk, but it feels almost every single fucking dialogue is just throwing shade. It wears out its welcome too quick. Imo, it's not charming or witty. It's fucking grating, boring, annoying, and obnoxious.
