| They can be attractive looking some famous ones like Alucard from Castelevania are pretty hot within anime Reinhard von Lohengramm falls into that category. They can get too idealized though like some female characters which leads to pretty generic appealing to the eye designs. It depends on the character. |

| One of my favorite mangakas often illustrates his male characters with extreme cases of effeminate androgyn-itis syndrome, so I've grown accustomed to it. Also I read '70s shounen-ai classics, which was probably peak bishonen era, and they look visually beautiful. |
