| Let's not get carried away here shall we? To be realistic it's really good and appealing to the eyes with it's smooth movements and refreshing artstyle but let's not forget this is just episode 1 and a lot of studios not on the level of Kyoani and Ufotable tend to have inconsistent quality animation going forward. Almost all of them put all their efforts in the first couple of episodes to really drive the message that the anime is legit only to falter halfway through the series with mediocre work then finish it off with one well put together episode. |

| Haven't seen the episode yet, but from some clips on youtube it does have a good animation, much better than your average romcom anime, not sure whether it's on the same level with Violet evergarden, it's been years since the last time i watched VE. |

| you probably confused this with Akebi-chan no Sailor-fuku, another CloverWorks anime airing this season which has a VioletEvergarden-like animation. This one is still great tho |
| I like the animation more in this series than the Akebi one tbh, even though I don't really care for either series that much overall. It's not my favorite of all time by any means but it just looks more consistent than Akebi while merging 2D and 3D elements well so far. Akebi's brighter, poppier and needs the visuals more to shine for any real traction for this series but it can look off-model and a little weird at times with the ambition of top-class visuals. I don't like Violet Evergarden at all, but that series and KyoAni made it look great and consistent without much complaints and inconsistencies compared to Akebi and really, it's leagues better than either series here even as a guy who gave VE a lower score than these two series lol. But with this Dress Up Darling anime, while it ain't a world beater, it does the job well in elevating the manga and bringing it to life in a consistent fashion without too many faults, even with Marin's over-the-top expressiveness and Gojo's shyness, although his character at times is too over-exaggerated for me to take in. Is it one of the greatest animated shows of all time or even among the past few years? No. It's still solid enough though for the time being. |
