| if every naruto episode would be like this... without crappy flashbacks and stuff the show would have like 9/10 rating, instead they are ruining it.. damn awesome episode, it was intense... tho i dont like that itachi is kinda weak.... i though this fight would be at the very last series... but after this what will happen ? if sasuke will go in akatsuki it will be pointless o_O him or itachi would make no difference... well lets hope the next eps will be good... ( without fillers) |

| Just like in the manga, Zetsu was really annoying during this fight, his replies to everything that happened ruined what should be a more serious atmosphere. About the fight - there really should be more taijutsu techniques included. As it is now with only the genjutsu and ninjutsu ones, both Itachi and Sasuke looks kinda static just standing there 'fireing' at eachother. The Uchiha are extremely skilled taijutsu users, so when fighting each other you would have expected too see some physical combat as well, or eh? |

After they used their genjutsu, that guy (Zetsu is his name?) said that amateratsu is ultimate physic eye, look, whatever, I expected them to go into "hand to hand" combat, instead they went into fire vs fire combat. But than again, I guess Neji is the one doing all the close-combat work xD |

| itachi looked inferior to sasuke... too much blood for him. well that is to be expected because sasuke has been training up to this point. but what about itachi? too much confident with his mangekyou sharingan? the move sasuke made (dragon fire something) is kinda lame... he used up all of his chakra just to destroy the roof? did it even hit itachi? -_- btw, FCUK YOU people putting spoilers. |
| This episode was good, I liked it. The genjutsu and Ninjutsu however was still a bit frail, and has not made the fight really that much more interesting. I guess they have saved a lot of animation costs, because there is no hand to hand combat. They just stand there as said before firing at eachother. I don't know, after all the hype that was about this fight, it really does not seem all that special, except for the fact the two have finally faced off. Nevertheless, hopefully in the next episode there will be some hand to hand combat, and with Itachi being so weak it makes the fight seem really dull. I mean when Sasuke was like im going to use my ultimate techinque, it was not THAT intriguing. This fight seems avarage to me, just a season of emotion which makes it a cut above the Jiraiya fight, I shall make my conlusion on it after it finishes. However what I do know is that Naruto VS Sasuke fight is still the best in the series so far. |

Sasuke's truly overpowered!! 3.5/5 ep! Sasuke's gonna use a technique like Amaterasu. (prolly a lightning clouds! he used that fire technique "Great Dragon Fire Technique" to change the climate and make it starts raining. JUST GUESSING HERE from the preview, but I feel like I'm spot on xP.) Really .. I've been watching Naruto from a very very very long time ago and lookin' to this fight to occur .. Now, that it has, I wish I never saw such a disgrace! Next ep is prolly gonna END IT! Hope it can change my opinion about this overpowering ... |

| I hate this fight. Why is Itachi being overpowered by Sasuke? WTF!? I'm guessing that there's a problem with his eyes or something, but still... Also, doesn't Itachi have anything besides Tsukiyomi and Amaterasu? And he's supposed to be the man who beat the crap out everyone he's come across with single-handedly... |
| Itachi is using his strongest moves on Sasuke because Sasuke is strong (having consumed part of Orochimaru and all), and because he has clearly been loosing his vision since I don't even remember when, it's been so long. |
| That may be so. But would one use his strongest moves on another if he knows that they put him on a great disadvantage? Well, logic aside (since this is a shounen anime I see no reason to pursue or discuss logic), I still hate this fight. In itself, the fight wasn't very good. Sasuke, breaking out of Tsukiyomi with his hatred (or will) was CHEAP. Not to mention that Sasuke is definitely in top 10 in my hated characters list. All in all, Sasuke was too overpowering. And from time to time how they (Zetsu, Itachi and Sasuke) said things about how the fight was on a stalemate just to keep things interesting or to satisfy Itachi fans or whatever the reason was again not a bright side. This fight is nothing Jiraiya vs. Pain. |
| I think your bias is clouding a lot of what's going on. I guess from one perspective, saying that it was Sasuke's hatred (or will, if you will) that broke out of the Tsukiyomi is cheap, but from another perspective (ie: the Akatsuki guy watching), it was more because Sasuke has more mastery of the Sharingan than Itachi. If you look at it this way, Itachi has only cultivated Sasuke so that he would have the ultimate eyes, almost identical in Orochimaru's lust for Sasuke's body (and eyes). This would be his tragic flaw and the dramatic irony is replete in this fight. He's pushed himself to the limits so much that he can't even fight Sasuke at full capacity. I think that's part of the reason why he won't engage him with taijutsu: He would need to be that much more aware of what's going on that his eyes failing him for even a second would be a severe mistake. I don't personally understand how people can like Sasuke, but not like Itachi, or vice-versa. They really are the same in many facets, with just their approach being slightly different because of their position. For all intents and purposes Sasuke has betrayed everyone around him for the sake of his own personal goals, and aligned himself with a rogue organization to expedite the process. The only difference is that Itachi has no hesitations to kill, and Sasuke clearly does. |
| The sole fact that Sasuke's mastery over the sharingan being greater than Itachi's is enough to irritate me. I like Itachi, I hate Sasuke. But I think they're indeed different. You said that Itachi doesn't hesitate to kill, that's a plus for me. Also Itachi is never seen emo.XD Another reason I like Itachi is because I suspect he has another motive in engaging in all of the killings which isn't personal. On the other hand I think Sasuke has his arse high up ever since he ran into Orochimaru's lap. He was a kid two years ago damn it! And now he's acting like an egotistical son of a bi**h. |
| The way I like to think about it is that Sasuke has a very clear goal in his head about what he wants to do, and has been totally focused on that from the beginning. Sasuke knew about the Mangekyou (sp?) Sharingan at an earlier age than Itachi, and whereas Itachi only wants to "see how much he's capable of" and take Sasuke's eyes, Sasuke has only ever thought about defeating Itachi. He's only cared about mastering the Sharingan, and to some extent a lot of his friendship with Naruto is based on that goal. At the end of the day, he couldn't kill Naruto, but it didn't really matter. That's the extent of his ambition. It's true that Itachi is never seen as emo, but I think that's solely because of his stance on killing, and his detachment from death. I do, however, fell like Itachi has a strange way in expressing his feelings towards Sasuke. The conversation while he was sitting down, and his saying that he would listen to what Sasuke had to say, on top of the flashback where he says, "We exist only for each other," and "I'll always be there for you, even if only as an obstacle" are very poignant. That's why I liked that they bothered to do the flashbacks last week. I think you're right about Sasuke, but let's face it, wouldn't you? He dealt with Orochimaru and has the upper hand in a fight against Itachi. Sasuke rarely overshoots his ability as much as Naruto, so it's been a case of grounded confidence on his part. Is it all that different from Itachi goading Sasuke all those many years ago? He's overjoyed that his life's ambition is coming to fruition. I wouldn't be able to contain myself. |
