Damn Will took down a god but I guess he still needed help to do it. I love the art and atmosphere of this anime, it's so beautiful. I can't wait to see what happens next and the outside world.

Great episode! Rest in peace Mary and blood, at the very least it wasn't a tragic end, but a bittersweet one for them. I really loved the post credit scene, made their goodbye much more heartfelt.

I guess that's pretty much the end of the prologue, the real shit starts now for William G. Maryblood (that's honestly a sickass name). Damn, 5 episodes in and Will already killed a God, well, a part of a God, but still, point still stands lmao. At least Gus is still alive, I hope when Will visits someday, Gus is still there. Really looking forward to the next episode, we'll see where the show goes from here.

There Are Quite Some Errors At The End Of The Episode. Is It Only Happening To Me?

It's the Ani-one version that has major issues. Would suggest watching the much better Crunchyroll version.

-----------------

Definitely loving this episode. Would say it's really good compared to the previous ones, especially with how things wrapped up here.
Seriously? I was watching it on Ani-One Asia's channel (cos it's free) and couldn't believe these errors. They should re-upload it. But I doubt that'd get rid of the poor subtitle translations.
Even still I think the animations of this anime are mid at best. Those portraits of Mary and Blood's pre-undead forms still looked 'lifeless'. The goddess didn't really invoke an overwhelming feeling or presence a deity should invoke. I really like story, it deserves better.

It looks like the prologue is finally over. But we (at least anime onlies) have no idea where the story will go next. The only vague suggestion I got is William was asked to preach and revive a dying religion?

While the emotion of their deaths was ever-so-slightly diluted by the previous fake-out, it still hit pretty hard for Will as he prepares to move onto the next stage of his journey. It seems that he's been tasked with reviving Gracefeel's dying religion in whatever is left of the world while also finding some way of dealing with the High King's seal before it breaks; the first half of that at least helps explain why Gracefeel bestowed such a strong blessing on Will so easily for the Stagnate fight.

Very interested to see where things go now that we seem to have concluded the "prologue".

This episode was very necessary for Will's development and I hope that in the next one his adventure begins.

The episode was extremely touching to see if you forget the intrinsic doubts about the progress of the plot. From the build up to the fight, exploding the character presentations and sentiments towards their past actions and struggles, to the long-lasting words in the departure of the parents. Clearly the idea is somehow telegraphed and done before in the anime, but the execution of the dialogue was coherent and flowed really well into each other. The reinforcement about the struggle of the main couple in the post credit was a brilliant final touch since it reinforces the other viewpoint. There is not just the sentiment of being a son that is about to lose both of your parents, but also the sentiment of being a parent about to free the child that you've always wanted to have to the arms of destiny, really moving episode
Sadly the visual department doesn't let this concept shine as much as I would want, the characters are somewhat flat and the animation is rough, but well, the story delivers in one way or another

The first 5 episodes were an excellent arc. The series could end there and it would be a great one. It even had a nice epilogue for closure. I will miss Mary and Blood.

So Will's adventure beings now, prologue is over I guess? This anime turned out pretty solid so far.
Consdering that Will could pretty much stand up to a god... isn't he pretty broken by now? He also isn't stupid or naive. I wonder what kind of diffculties could he face now.

Biggest difficulty will probably be picking the right girl in his harem.

(This is just a joke because it's an isekai and I haven't read the manga, so please don't get mad.)

It is sad to see both Mary and Blood to pass away. I am glad that the boy is moving on and have taken both of his parents name as his last name.

I get somewhat what y'all are saying. The plot low-key makes less than a lick of sense, and even as a self proclaimed contrairian, the best The Straits Times editor and writer, Lester Wong of Lester Wong's The Straits Times that is myself, feel free to contact me at Google my name and The Straits Time, find my email, cannot find any reason to defend it. I am kidding, I actually feel that this show insults my intelligence as a bipedal apeman. The characters are bland, there are no stakes, but I guess the graphics are good, which is shorthand for go watch incest porno instead. Moving on to the plot, we spent 3 episodes establishing jack, and how can I forget, oh shiet he burnt his hand! now he has bandages, wheeze, character development! The other characters, the undeads are supposed to get attached to Main character woman, but they, don't really, the same way a tombstone doesn't really fall in love with a piece of paper. Anyway, we get to the exposition episode, which made me just fall asleep, because it's the same dreg, just without stakes and making less sense. So the God of undead, whose name is literally Stagnate, talk about subtle, just appears and wants to recruit MC, who obviously refuse because moral righteous, I don't know why she refused, SHE, because feminism is stupid as I, Lester Wank would say, actually, which brings us to vague character motivations, the main character's motivation, is, 'I wasted my previous life, so I want to live life to the fullest' which is not terrible, the same way the a left sock is not terrible as underwear, as, she starts out with that motivation, and, erm, stagnates. Anyways this show is to me what reading whatever this is above nonsensical rant is to an average human.

This is where the brilliant part of the manga ended. In hindsight, I think this story would be perfect if it ended here. The series seems to have some really good ideas in it but execution is getting worse and worse as it goes after first arc. Anime is pretty bland so far, so I highly doubt it can make for source's shortcomings in any way. Then again, it's not like there's anything decent to watch other than 86 this season, so might as well stick to it if you have time.

Yeah not sure how the novel goes, but the manga definitely takes a down turn after this point. Hopefully the anime can do better.

Blood and Mary saying "We're gonna have to leave/die", then Will crying and saying he wants to do this and that with them, but then the same fucking thing happens the next episode.

Mostly this. The wishy washy scenes blend into each other. They just aren't memorable.

Looks like Blood and Mary decide to go with death rather than staying like Gus.

In another way, this is exactly the same as some other series that have either their sibling or parents the MC admires dies in order to give the MC a reason to "grow up".

And now Will Bloodymary, oops, I mean Will Maryblood's going off by himself to become strong enough in 10 years (assuming this series will give a lot of time skips, or this series is going for 100+ episodes of character growth...) to defeat the God of Undead or that sealed evil dude that will rise in 10 years.

The best episode so far. With that it appears that the first 'arc' is over. The last part of the episode confused me at first; I thought it was weird to end such an episode with scene from 200+ years. But then I understood why it was added. Very emotional episode..

It was nice that they remembered the seal of the High King too which appeared to have been completely forgotten in the previous episode, despite being employed for securing a destroyer of worlds :)

why did they let stagnate spare the lives of Blood and Mary if they were going to die anyway? Wouldn't it have been more powerful storytelling for them to die by Stagnate's hands to provide a source of motivation as the story goes on. I get that the writer probably wanted to lull us into a false sense of security before having them die, but the end result is a net loss for the story as a whole.

At least he managed to beat Stagnate but Blood and Mary had to disappear, that was really sad, even more with the post-credit scene for when they were humans :( Now William is William G Maryblood, at least Gus is still here

Mary and Blood maybe gone but they live on in Will now. It was painful to see them move on and Gracefeel taking their souls away. I wonder if they'd reincarnate in this world and Will getting a chance to meet them once again.

I like how Gus decided to give Will the name Maryblood and Will added a G to reference Gus. He may not be as close to him as Blood and Mary but Gus is still Will's family, a Godfather if you will.

That post credit scene was really cute but also really sad knowing what happens to them. They truly are a married couple even though they still have yet to marry officially. Reminds me of Rit and Red from Banished from Hero's Party. Mary sure is a bold woman just like Rit.

Blood and Mary's send off was really satisfying (as well as being sad, but knowing it was inevitable).

I'm not sure how the rest of the story will fare, since I liked the family dynamic so much (and wanted them all to be present throughout, but at least Blood and Mary - potentially unless they return - had a nice conclusion to their story.

It was also very sad that they wanted to have a child together 🥲 but they got to have their Will together in the end.

Blood and Mary passed away leaving a legacy for Will. Will gained a last name- Maryblood. So the adventure can now begins in earnest.

The post credit scene is so well done and gives us an insight into how Will got his name.
