@ Pirating_Ninja: I'd suggest Da Capo II and Da Capo II Second Season. You seem to rate "based on romance game" anime fairly well, and you've already gotten through two thirds of the franchise. DCII is kind of like the first half of the first season, in that it focuses on some secondary characters and sidestories. But DCIISS is a stunning achievement in giving a conclusion to the main story and the stories of some of the characters from the very first season.

Everything that connects to MAL

^ I suggest Legend of the Galactic Heroes. You haven't seen it yet and it's twice as good as any other anime out there.

.....Only kidding. I'm not even that big of a LotGH fan myself actually, although you may still want to check out to see what the fuss is about and for Yang Wenli, who is one of the best characters ever made.

Seriously, you have seen a lot, but have also missed a lot of good stuff like Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu,Kaiba, Kaiji and Mononoke.

My main recommendation, however, is Kure-nai, which has a great and natural mix of comedy and drama, which is made better with a good cast of characters. I enjoyed every moment of it.

Also watch La Maison en Petits Cubes. Its only 10 minutes long and it is one of the best anime I have seen, and that's for any length, not just short anime.

But I'd like to reccomend u Higurashi No naku Koro ni, my instinct say tat u might like it ;)
It's psychological horror based on slice of life . It's the best anime I've ever seen, so I hope that if you watch it, you will like it xd

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan. There's gore. It's a sadistic comedy.

Besides, Flygon has Higurashi on-hold..

you seem to like comedies, and shows with strong lead males. I think you should check out Desert Punk because it has pervy humor similar to golden boy and GTO, and the character is a comical badass, despite being a shrimpy fellow.
Trigun is also similar with a more classy approach to things which you might not like but give it a shot.

^ You don't have too much on your list, and most of the ones you've completed, I haven't watched, so I find it hard to find a solid trend ^^;; However, based on the fact that you seem to like TTGL and Samurai Champloo, I'll recommend Baccano!, due to its quirky humour, drama, and action.

Natsume Yuujinchou or Clannad

*edits*

I have seen some anime listed with the drama and romance genre. The two mentioned above might suit your taste since it captivated the hearts of few here. You might want to try it out.

sorry, thought it was like the 'recommend a manga'. XD

@Nia9001:

You listed slice-of-life as your favourite genre, so maybe you could try Minami-ke (first season, other seasons don't exist), Ichigo Mashimaro, or Hatsukoi Limited.

For your romance needs, Kimikiss or Itazura na Kiss may be enjoyable to you.

^ seeing that you've watched lots of stuff, i''ll just disregard the genre and recommend anything i think is nice...

Mouryou no Hako - awesome show, a bit slow to pick up pace, but really wonderful...a bit like baccano without the funny bits.

Mononoke - a personal favourite. I just like the way it's animated...and in my opinion, a really good horror show.

Gintama - start watching already... same goes to honey and clover...and btw your plan to watch list is so LONG.

Noein - state of art sci-fi. again, abit slow to pick up pace..

You have a lot of my favourites rated higher than myself, which is fascinating.

I'd recommend you to pick on Blood + and Cowboy Bebop (non-scored, so I suppose they are on hold?)

I also think you may like Wolf's Rain.

Death Note is obligatory for one who loved Code Geass.

And I'm pretty sure you are going to like Monster.

@Person under me: please put your best efforts. I already have an horribly long On Hold and PtW list. If you pick anything from those it would be awesome.

You seem to be a fellow Junichi Sato fan, but you've yet to see Junkers Come Here. Great touching movie, so glad Junichi Sato got involved on it. Sorry I couldn't help you out with your to watch list!

to whoever below me, I don't mind non-anime recs, but I've already seen Avatar, Reboot, Invader Zim, and Firefly and loved every minute of each of them. Prefer a cartoon rec though. 360 JRPG recs are fine too, the only ones I've played are Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata, preferably something that's been out for a while so I can pick it up dirt cheap.

Wow, the lowest you rank any anime you've watched is 6 and you've not dropped any. I looked throught your "plan to watch" list too. I thought I'd suggest something you've not listed and that you've probably not heard of, so I'd suggest Shadow Skill. I'll also suggest Legend of the Galactic Heroes, as it's a great series which you've not listed anywhere, most places that wouldn't surprise me, although on this website that series is quite popular so that's surprising for here.
There are three kinds of intelligence: one kind understands things for itself, the other appreciates what others can understand, the third understands neither for itself nor through others. This first kind is excellent, the second good, and the third kind useless.

I really think you'll like Monster. Many think Monster is similar to Death Note, but it is way different. No child arrogance or God complexes involved whatsoever. Also continue Kaiji, you'll really enjoy it. Also, seeing as how you liked the Diary of Tortov roddle, you should Start up Kino's Journey.

Since u really enjoyed Kino's Journey, I think you might enjoy some heartwarming anime (with a traveler).
In that case, Mushishi, will be a great recommendation.
U also seem to like action and bloody animes, in this case I will certainly recommend you Baccano!, one of the greatest gore+action(+comedy) anime made.

U also might want to try:
Umineko no Nako Koro Ni
Berserk
Mononoke

^ Since Mushishi seems to be one of your favorite anime, I recommend Kaiba. It also deals with a bit of traveling and meeting new people with different stories.

Also You rated Eureka Seven pretty high so Xam'd: Lost Memories would be a good choice

Some others are:
Mitchiko to Hatchin (sort of a cross between samurai champloo and cowboy bebop)

Tokyo Marble Chocolate

Puchi Puri Yuushi (a bit brighter than princess tutu but gives off the same "feel" at times, especially during the end)

The Cat Returns
and
Arashi No Yoru Ni

C: P.S. Yay Zetsubou avatar buddies!
Recommend me something. ;]

If you gave trigun a ten... and u did...then i recommend u pick GTO up from where u put it on hold (ep 1) Both main character share a similar personality and the humour is very much the same. Both shows offer greatly different storyline but both will b remembered forever after u watch! It also seems that u enjoy a good romance since ur watching Toradora and ur top five includes Lovely Complex,
so Gto should b watched cuz it too has a very nice romance aspect.

If u want a truely amazng romance then u should watch true tears and/ or kimi kiss!!

U gave NHK a 10 also so i say watch Moyashimon ASAP (u have it on ur plan to watch so it must already b interesting to u and i strongly encourage u to watch it!) They are both genious works.

You may also like hanada Shounen Shi... similar to Natsume (the cat spirit anime) Hanada is a bit perverted as is GTO so im not sure if that is a problem for u...

All my recs have deep meanings behind there stories and that is wat makes them great in my opinion.

I hope these recs suite u.

on the slice of life side:
honey and clover
planetes
nodame cantabile

on the action side:
darker than black
samurai champloo
Ga-rei zero
x'amd

on the quirky side (my personal preference):
mononoke
gintama
paranoia agent
seitokai no ichizon

*edit: no need to recommend me death note~ i'm waiting to forget the plot so i can watch the anime...

I -was- going to recommend the second season of Code Geass because of the giant cliff hanger that season 1 ends on.

Then I noticed you dropped it.

So:
K-On is an adorable anime that's sure to make you smile if you enjoyed something like Lucky Star.

Black Cat is actiony with a good story to it as well.

I'd say Dai Mahou Touge, you seem to like comedy shows that are 'different'. DMC and Dokuro-chan I'm talking about.

Dai Mahou Touge is quite a lot like Dokuro-chan (though less gore-orientated), silly comedy that really works well (you'll see what I mean by silly in the very first episode). Definitely won't fail to make you laugh, or smile atleast.
Dai Mahou Touge isn't as good as Dokuro-chan in my opinion, but it's still worth a watch since it's only a short series, and since you gave Dokuro-chan an 8.

you would probably enjoy Monster, it has the same kind of vibe to it as Death Note, yet it is totally different.

you enjoyed Soul Eater and Gintama, so I will also recommend One Piece, altough it has a bit of a slow start, it is one of the greatest shows ever made (imo ofcourse)

I would also say, give some of these a try:
Cowboy Bebop
Trigun
Slam Dunk
Princess Mononoke
Baccano!
Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen

Saiensu we seem to agree on all the animes we share with some slight differences here and there and looking at your PTW list I would have to say you should consider watching soon:

Xam'd - Many people say it's similar to Eureka seveN but I think it wasn't as similar as some people say it is, I found it to be entertaining.

Darker than BLACK - Also made by BONES, I think you will enjoy it if you are looking for an action anime with more than just mindless action, I found some characters to be quite unique / interesting and I personally enjoyed the setting of the anime.

Spice and Wolf II - I'm surprised you didn't watch it yet, I don't think I have to explain myself for this one.
