| I believe (as many have said already) it's to do with Japan's insane work culture. And while they do have some time to socialize (it's usually expected as part of their work) they probably don't have a lot of time to mix with the opposite sex. However I do think some of the Waifu culture stuff and merchandise, games/VNs with them in probably has some effect. |

Based off of what I've heard from other people with ties to anime in someway who are in Japan, the Japanese culture is a procrastination. Things that should be done quicker are taking ages. I'm assuming idea of progression is none existent when it comes to things like dating, filling documents and what not. |
