I'm so tired to say this, its only 16 episodes, so they had to sacrifice the early episodes so the pacing for future episodes will be good. If they were to adapt everything from these chapters then 16 episodes would not be enough to end it at chapter 122. The pacing should be fine from now on, episode 2 and especially 3 had to be a sacrifice, not to mention they still keep the important scenes. I'm just informing you because you are making false assumption that Mappa just want to reach to the action scene, if you were the script writer and you had 16 episode to work with, you would have done the same. zzzz i wonder how eren stans would react if something important about erens motivations was cut as a ''sacrifice'' so that ''the pacing can be better in the next episodes'' lmao. just admit it was a rushed episode. no one is blaming them for having only 16 episodes to work with. manga readers can apparently cry about piecks ass not being animated, but reiner, a main character in the marley arc and the foil for eren has to have a botched and rushed backstory episode? they could have removed the OP + ED, removed the annie and kenny scene (or atleast have given some sort of context to that scene) and given the episode some breathing room, like damn it felt like a powerpoint slide on speedroll. reiner is portrayed as a more pitiful character that you have to feel sorry for, instead of a genuinely interesting one. maybe MAPPA should portray eren as a one dimensional character too and we will see you seethe. |

The whole point of this arc is to show that the marleyans are the same as eren and gang . They too fight for their goals and ideals . The first 4 eps delivered that by introducing new characters and by showing their lives as eldians inside marley . Yes the pacing is actually fast and they even cut some dialogue from the manga .This whole season will mostly show the political side of AOT and most of the episodes will be dialogue heavy . If you can't enjoy this side of AOT then I can't really help you . |

| I really like seeing the other side to what happened. After losing Marcel, Annie wanted to find the new shifter and bring them back to Marley, while Reiner wanted to continue the mission. It did open my eyes on how they were treated and what lead them to destroy Wall Maria |

| Ah yes, some backstory of how the group of warriors from 9 years ago embarked upon their quest to bring back the founder titan. How Marcel saved his younger brother and let Reiner, the overly-loyal soldier be chosen to be the wielder of the armoured titan. And how they persevered until they manage to destroy wall Maria and then Rose afterwards. Felt like years of the story bring recapped in under 20 minutes. The pacing, while fast, is done good enougg. Enough to relay all the scenes and information to the audience yet be comprehensible enough to understand in an instant. It's quite fascinating how Reiner saw Eren in his desperate moment to get stronger as a reminiscent of himself back when he's desperately trying to be an honorary Marleyan. The same thing is happening yet again (kinda) with Falco wanting to be the successor of Reiner's armoured titan in place of Gabi whom Falco loves. Well well well... You know who it is that's about to meet (depressed & unstable) Reiner again. |

| Didn't liked the use of ost in this episode.It was iconic in the trailer itself and it felt pretty random when they used the ost in episode 1 and 3. I wasn't expecting that they'll use the ost from the trailer at all. Anyway,the connection in the Final season way back to the 1st episode was incredibly done.I really liked the backstory of the Marleyan warriors as it showed more depth to the characters of Annie,Marcel,Reiner and that other guy who wasn't chosen as the warrior.Bertholdt was silent as usual. The thing I like most about Aot is that they tell us the backstory of the characters which can hugely affect the future arcs unlike those other shonen where they add the backstory of a villain to gain sympathy from the readers/viewers. The animation from the past 3 episodes is mid(I like that at least it's not bad) compared to wit.Seems like they put their budget more for the character designs than for the animation. "I wish something interesting would happen" well Eren your wish came true after all. Other than the ost it was the best episode so far and I've yet to watch Declaration of was from the time I'm writing this post. I have a question.Why does Gabi does not feel sad at all that she has to eat Reiner? |

| Seeing scenes from the perspective of Reiner, Bertholt, and Annie is pretty sick. There was a lot of content in this episode, and idk if they tread it further in the next episode but more of the flashback from our new perspective would be interesting. I definitely had a fanboy YOOOOOOOOO! moment when It's hard to believe this show has been in the works for so long and we finally get to see how it ends. |

| Damn, every father is garbage, huh? Historia's, Reiner's, the civilian who left behind 3 of his kids... Last episode I didn't realize it, but as he was talking in this episode, I thought "is that Eren??" And then he looked up lol. Excited to all grown up Eren. I wanna know how the heck he got to Marley. A side note: this is the first time I've enjoyed a anime yet dislike or is neutral about so many characters. Namely, Reiner and Zeke. |

| Attack on Reiner's psyche: PTSD story continues. So far they do very good job, I feel like I am watching Attack on titan. Some details skip, but flow is good so far. Also, damnit Falco! Just about when Reiner was to blow his brain up. Now THAT would be twist to the story. But fans probably wouldn't take well for Armor titan to disperse from story like that, lost in general population. I can't imagine how rest would go as well. |

I even don't know who is young Reinzer, Zeke and who is that young blonde boy who says mr Braun will be fine in ep 2... who are others , which episode each fight who is what titan?! when it is reiner when it is someone else and who is he? who was before reiner ? this is too confusing and not fun to watch while I have to rewatch after 3 episodes to answer some question.. why Braun, Gabi and Finger, Pieck look the same? why reiner and othe blondes look the same? can't they make them look different? total shit when was that attack on some unknown city which was probably reiner and zeke? but where was annie and rest? rly bad narration, really badly made story and ultra rushed, this is probably because Titan anime lost in sales... |
