| For someone who has always put off reading Manga, I can say that I have managed to caught up to this chapter from the start within 2 weeks. Do I regret it? Yeah, kinda in a way, but it was a blast nevertheless. Funny enough, Yotsuba was in my top 3 after seeing the first season. Reading through the manga these past 2 weeks, it's not strange seeing Yotsuba being the one winning this. She has been there for Fuutarou from the start, but always put her sisters before herself. So I didn't actually see her winning (Neither did Yotsuba herself), but from the very start it was already tough who would be the best, however Miku will always be my #1. Now I am looking forward to the rest! |

| So it turns out to be the ‘first girl’ after all, just not in the same aspect as many of us were speculating. Regardless, I’m super stoked to see this! People were saying that she's out of the "game" and I was close to thinking the same too, got to give props to Negi-sensei for this little trickery of sorts. Somewhere along the line, I seriously thought she'd be the one to suffer most but I'm so glad I've been proven wrong. Yotsuba’s been my second favourite since Ichika’s downfall and almost-second post-anime so seeing this is completely a-okay for me! Coupled with that, the past revelations and the latest chapters just about out-throned Miku for me I think so the momentum was well set and then finally going through this is exactly as you’d imagine - a real pleasure! I completely forgot about Fuutarou figuring out Yotsuba first so that was a nice little heads-up at the start. I just really liked that approach from the writer to illustrate some of the touching moments between throughout the series. One could argue it'd probably fill up to 4-5 pages instead had it been the famous two and quite rightly so. Anyway, Itsuki with the anchor role now. As @Devil_Slayer pointed out, I feel like her character has been a huge bait from the writer lol. I think if she was not announced first, I would've come to appreciate her more but welp. More on to the meaty stuff now... Being the angel that she is, of course she'd try to deny her feelings and think of her sisters above all. Fuutarou's realization of this was pretty much on-point too, he's been watching her closely you can tell. And then that whole final scene, brilliant! Starting from the eventful trip xD to the painful inner monologues and finally to the outburst from Yotsuba, manly tears these. Manly tears... Of course, this doesn't quite match up with all the hints spread across the entire manga. Most importantly, the kiss under the bell scene - Questionable over how he was unable to figure it out (bad lighting is justifiable but a more concrete reason would be appreciated) when earlier he was able to figure it out and the tripping habits. Iirc, he was able to figure out Miku too but I suppose that's not really a reason. Next would be the hand-band which he wears on his wedding (according to the anime, I'm not sure about the manga), interestingly which happens to be a gift from noneother than Nino herself. Could be a charm but it's odd how he'd have this on during his wedding with of her sisters, no? I'm sure there are a few more like these possible nitpicks, hopefully the writer will cover them all in the upcoming final volume! It's been a good day, thank you Negi-sensei! All the speculating, controversies, discussions and a flurry of emotions going through the story, it's been a hell of a ride! But well, I'm getting ahead of himself here so I'll leave this for the finale. |

| Boy, I can't say I'm that munch into Yotsuba, since Nino is best girl and I've been rooting for her, but I really liked the way it turned out to be. Yotsuba is cute in her own way and she's the one who probably loved Fuutarou most. |
| I supported Nino all the way through, but I'm not the slightest bit disappointed with this outcome. Yotsuba deserved it. |

Anime was it's best 20000 years ago, when cavemen drew art with real depth. Modern anime is all garbage. I miss great old days of anime. |

| What the fuck? Miku should have won. Yotsuba is like really mediocre compared to Miku or Itsuki. Why would this author do this? Fuck, now I want an anime original ending. Atleast, Ichika didn't win. I never cared for her right from the start. I would have broken my fucking monitor if she won. |

| Looking back on it now, the pick for Yotsuba was rather obvious the second it was revealed to be her that Fuutarou met in Kyoto. Given the character it makes perfect sense, the issue for me is, we have no way in knowing that Fuutarou knows that it was Yotsuba. Other than the meeting when they were kids we never really got to see any concrete relationship building between the two, which is what makes the decision seem to come from left field. We are just left to infer that he either knew all along or put two and two (via through the random 'guess who' tests or through time spent with the five girls) together at some point, which is good storytelling, but with no confirmation it feels "empty"? Personally I felt the decision for the author to go this route was off-putting. I'm not the biggest fan of Yostuba as the main love interest, partly from prior manga/anime history of the "energetic, happy-go-lucky, glad to be along for the ride" character, never really being in the spotlight. I felt Itsuki would've made the most sense from character development, no matter how 'boring' it may have seemed. Had Ichika not devolve into deceiving everyone she'd be #1 in my eyes. All in all, this route seemed to be the safest while being the nicest story as Yotsuba was never the one to put herself before anybody and still comes out on top. |
