| "Rating a show that hasn't even aired yet" - Some shows get pre-air premiers on TV or/and screenings at anime conventions and such. - In some cases journalists get early stream access to an episode or two. - People in Japan watching it on TV before the episode has being released on stream. So yeah, is some cases this is genuine, not to mention that MAL doesn't allow you to track and vote if the show isn't in the status "Currently Airing" (some mistakes in the past tho, like the case of Violet Evergarden). |

| That´s what happened with Great Pretender. The AoT fanboys thought Wit dropped their peak fiction beloved manga to make an original anime and the rate went down to 6 at some point. Then the actual anime aired and people liked it. So yeah, it can be used for both fanaticism and hypocrisy . |
| For starters i hope you know mal resets daily all ratings for unaired shows (unless they had a full episode preview of some sort which is relatively rare), and there is also the edge case of ratings being allowed 12-24h before the show's actual premiere but um yea i do it sometimes for the lulz, because i know it irrationally triggers some people |
