What's will all those horses running down the cliffs like it was piece of cake for them?

I'm also kinda disappointed that Lusitanians can't kill them even when there are numbers on their side. They were clever at the beginning but lately they are there only to be butchered mercilessly.

And is it me or does Arslan has edgier outlines? Or maybe animation was off this time.

I still don't understand why they even care about old Pars lineage. Usurper or not, he's the king right? And his son has his right to the throne too. But I understand if both Arslan and Andragoras died old Pars lineage would took over.
In the end, Arslan can be bastard, right? It's not like Andragoras or Tahamenay cared for him much.

Ugh. Why is it that a series with such an interesting story has such a small budget and any slice of life or harem creap can have killer animation. It's a friggin shame.

Arslan keeping up the freedom for slaves policy will hurt him. Before the end, a lot of Pars soldiers and captains will rally to Hermes' side. The civil war resulting from that will be glorious.

Can you name 10 harem anime with killer animation? So I can watch them^^

It really does suck and would be frustrating if I wasn't just used to it at this point and accept it as the trade off, but really I grow tired of it and would sooner turn back to Western productions where I can at least usually have both. It kind of represents the contradictory state that the industry is in that this is almost always the case now though. Either you get something generic and ill-conceived in story and plotting with a solid budget and production values or something genuinely interesting and not as commonplace for TV anime that is inconsistent and generally poor in terms of quality control.

I believe it isn't nearly so black and white like you make it out to be. There are good anime with beautiful animation (high budget) and there are not so good anime with beautiful animation that are for some people wasted on such a anime.

So, a black and white thinking isn't really appropriate in this case or to take arslan senki at the example that it is always the case (crap anime = good animation, good anime = bad animation).

It's pretty clear now that Arslan is not the real prince...
Narsus got a waifu lol
Falangies is so awesome, shipping she and Daryun!
No wonder Hermes is afraid of fire, since he was burned...

There's so much shit happening at the same time, which is one of the main reason I like this show so much.

Bahman, a man of contradictions. Protect Arslan but not attacking the Lustianians and Hermes.

What did he think that they would just kiss and make up? Instead of making a choice, he just chose the easy sacrificial lamb route. Kind of cowardly to me.

Probably sounds bad, but I'm glad Hermes has an intense phobia to fire. If he didn't, I'd have questioned how real those scars on his face are. Although I'd have been a real dick if I was Arslan and thrown the torch at him. Hermes' clothes look pretty flammable...

Bahman kinda confirmed that Hilmes is Osreos son.
Arslan is not Andragoras and maybe not even Tahamines son, depending on how the bloodline is defined.

Why then was Arslan raised as prince? Though only some years ago, he was living in the city earlier. I don't think Andragoras just choose a random boy, there must have been a reason why this one specifically.

And why did Variz support Arslan when he learned of it? When did he even learn of it? He might have known for quite some time, but only acted on the eve of battle because he felt it would end badly.

And why did Bahman support Aslan? Just because Variz asked him? And yet he defended Hilmes too.

Given Narsus character, i wouldn't be surprised if he knew all this. That he didn't know the content of the latter can still be true, and i don't think he has any troubles with lying anyways.

It's all very confusing right now. Even assuming Arslan is be the son of the king before or something like that, then the royal bloodline wouldn't end with Hilmes..

And even if all that is wrong, and Arslan is actually the son of Andragoras, and Hilmes just some pretender like it was laid out initially, it raises the question how everything got so mixed up in the first place..

Hey guys it irritates me so much that no one is accepting Hermes. Isn't it already clearly established that he is the rightful heir to the throne and Arslan is just a mere nephew?

So, why is everyone still obsessing over Arslan and paying Hermes no attention at all?

And GAH Arslan's unjust confidence rooting from his false belief that he is the prince is just $£(*!_($*)!(£&%)(

Please tell me how to think. The way the anime is going makes me feel like Hermes is the culprit here and that the anime should actually focus on his despair and unfortunate events in his life instead of the balahblahblabh Arslan and his blind followers. Really want to drop the anime now, focusing on Arslan and his battles feels like focusing on a life of a commoner while the real deal is happening around him.

Sorry just finished episode 13 so emotions are running wild T_T

It does not justify his action of causing the people of Pars to suffer, because of his personal agenda. It is because of him that Andragoras III lost the war with Lusitania army. Despite everything, he has not done anything to make the situation at Pars better, instead he just ignore the suffering of the people because he was so caught up with his revenge plot. His target of revenge is supposed to be Andragoras, and not Arslan, yet he is still obsessed with killing Arslan, instead of getting his throne, as he wanted.

Not a big fan of Alfreed but love the progress of the show so far! Poor Bahman >_<

Also glad that the main group was finally made aware about Hermes and his identity. Can't wait to see what happens from here~

Quite eventful episode. The truth that vahfriz told bahman is apparently that arslan isn't the rightful heir. Bahman sacrificing himself was somewhat intense. The attack from sindhura is suprising. The fight between arslan and hermes should be highlighted too.

For some reason, I don't mind that Narsus has someone that fawns over him unlike when Gieve flirts with Falangies. Maybe because Alfreed's feelings for Narsus are true and when she declares that she's his wife it was kind of funny in a way or maybe because I like Narsus. He's strong and clever and undoubtedly a very useful part of the group. And what's more he's serving Arslan on his own will and he's got a purpose for doing so. Again, unlike Gieve who's only in it because of Falangies.. so far at least.

I know the fights and battles in this show have always been ridiculous but come on... that Silver Mask guy infiltrated that heavily guarded citadel with 80 freaking thousand soldiers, alone, and then fought with Daryun, Falangies, Narsus and Kishward then managed to kill Bahman only to escape fully unscathed. The fuck is this?

Now I'm starting to doubt Arslan rights to the throne. He may even be completely unrelated to his supposed to be father and mother. Wouldn't it be awesome if he was actually an orphan. lol.

Hermes went against 4 skilled warriors, didn't lose by any of them AND still managed to escape, that's what I'd like to call real bullshit.

Narsus getting that 16 year old pussy...cat.

Alfreed looking at Farangis oppai. I can't resist either.

The fated meeting. Arslan and Hermes.

Arslan now knows the truth.

Personally, I'm on Hermes side. His birthright was taken from him.

I get it Narsus, you want to abolish slavery, but could you maybe talk about something else too? When this as well as Hermes lineage becomes know won't that cause most nobles to take Hermes side?

So Hermes easily invades the castle with the intent to harm Narsus, when found do any of Narus' followers stay to protect him? Of course not as they can't die, so they all had to act like buffoons so that we could have Bahman die protecting Narsus instead.

Just as I expected, Elam had the best reaction when Alfreed said she was Narsus wife/lover.

Hermes taking on everyone not losing. He is so powerful. Daryun against Hermes would be an interesting fight.

Now they have to fight against Sindhuran before taking back their country.

Isayama Hajime end card at the end. ^_^

Naturally, Elam doesn't like Narsus's self-proclaimed wife Alfreed who joined whilst Camp Arslan was split up lol

Peshawar fortress in the east is an apparent safe spot for Camp Arslan as it didn't send troops to Atropatene but Silver Mask is already there, hinting he has inside help. Kishward seems chill but the elderly Bahman is reluctant to give Arslan an army. Narsus senses he's dodging questions.
Careless Arslan encounters Silver Mask alone but does not back down when he draws his sword upon the crown prince. Just when Silver Mask has the upper hand, poor Arslan shines a flaming torch in his face and it is Silver Mask who cowers instead. He is in fact Hilmes, son of the assassinated king Osores (thus Arslan's cousin) and his pyrophobia is most likely from the time he got the burns he now hides with a mask. That moment allows the lovely Farangis to shoot an arrow and the rest of Camp Arslan intervene.
Just when Silver Mask regains the upper hand, Bahman sacrifices himself for Arslan's sake. Bahman had trained Hilmes like his friend Vahriz did for Arslan hence his reluctance when negotiating for troops.

At the most unfortunate of times, a prince from the (India-inspired) foreign kingdom of Sindhura next to Peshawar decides to invade.
