| haha scrubs, I read them on the shonen jump app :p Its only like 2$ a month so its fairly cheap to read manga. Hmm I actually like this manga quite a bit so far. Though it does have the super stereotypical shonen cast of characters. Meh, whatever, I dont really mind though to be honest, as long as it can pull its wait and continue to be alright then I will keep reading it. |

| Wow ,this manga go from 0 to 100 so fast for me. I the begining i wasnt even realy sure if i want to continue reading but now i cant wait to see what's next. Surely it proven my exspectaions and even more. I can't wait to whach the anime. BTW can somebody tell me from what point forward in the manga i can start and finish the anime ? |

| So as a summary of the first volume, this was a mild rise from barely moving to a mild jog. I'm not a fan of this pace, nor am I attracted to characters with these structures. I think this story shines in the actions, only as far as a spectacle, not because it's fascinating or because it's unique. I mean we're only a volume in and we're already taking down our insecurities and barriers from inside our soul without really working towards that. I also think the whole, magic being linked to emotions as well as "growth" being as vague as possible is kinda teetering a line. I'm not one to be HARDCORE on the power system but for this story not to even establish one even a teensy bit in the first volume is kinda a big fat failure. Anyways, I might continue out of morbid curiosity. Mostly cause it's a fast read that I can't see myself ever needing to reread for fun or detail picking like other series. |

| That was a pretty good chapter, I hope the pacing gets fixed though and they slow things down after they laid down a good foundation for this manga. |

| First volume completed. Let's start from cons. Power system is pretty boring, and it seems like author plans to use Deus Ex machine in the future. I mean, this whole "mages can power up because of emotions" is a red flag for the story. Characters are okay, but this captain is a huge moron. Of course, author makes him look like a "mean on the outside but kind on the inside". Yuno is also unlikeble. It's only 1 first volume out of 36, so I don't want to judge the fights, but so far they're pretty bad. Dialogues are bad. The author tries to do indirect exposition, but it doesn't look natural. The constant shouting and bantering of Asta started to get annoying right from the beginning. 90% of the lines in the beginning are “Asta is so weak, the whole village is laughing at him”. There are pros, though only a few: good idea of combat system with grimoires (realized poorly), good artsyle, character design is nice, the humor brings a slight smile, and there's also good fan service. For me, the fan service has been the best aspect of the manga so far.... It's primarily standard shōnen, shonen is manga for tenns so the standard of quality is lower than for other manga. But what's the point of this manga at all if it doesn't bring anything new to the table? I can just as easily read any quality old-school shonen. |
