While I have to admit that purple mohawk suits him, why Shorter isn't bald like in manga? I liked him like that way more.
Okay, it's not that important.
Some pitiful human trash connected to Banana Fish killed Griffin when he recognised him. You can only guess Ash isn't going to handle it well. I don't know anymore, this show hurts too much. And no spoilers but it's just going to get worse and worse so prepare tissues.

Another strong episode, I guess Ash will keep losing the people he cherishes, I wasn't expecting the death of his brother at all, I was even relieved when I saw that he could stand, but it didn't last.

It was really satisfying to see Ash crushing that bull that wanted to rape him and getting back at those fools that thought they had the upper hand because they got their way with him once. I still think the price he paid to go to the infirmary was high, but I'm glad that he's defending himself now.

Also poor Max, his best friend, that he thought that was dead, died for real, and he couldn't see him one last time, Ash hated him because he just needed someone to hate for what happened to his brother, but by the end they were friends in grief. That last scene in which they talked about Griffin, dealing with the pain of loss together was such a powerful one. I can't believe that episode after episode it doesn't lose steam.

Also, I guess Eiji's parents are really protective of him, and it seems he had a reason to leave Japan so we may get to see some pain in his past. This anime is killing me.

Ash has it hard. He was raped, abused, used, he lost his parents, Skip and now his brother, who was still suffering from the awful effects of Banana Fish. I was kind of lowkey expecting that Chinese restaurant owner to be Skip in disguise. I wasn’t too surprised. He was smart and knew that Eiji was being followed and had to stay in disguise.

Max is struggling to keep Ash safe in prison while he’s also fighting for custody over his kid. Damn, this show goes deep into some real issues.

He was almost raped twice today by his new cellmate and that guy who raped him in the library before. Thank goodness he finally used that fork and stabbed the motherfucker right in the penis and balls! He won’t be raping anyone anymore.

Max is such an awesome guy. Despite everything, he doesn’t mind if Ash killed him because he feels guilty and responsible for Griffin. He’s not responsible for him or should feel guilty but he does. I hope he gets custody of his kid but I’m not sure if that’ll work considering he went to jail and has a strike on his record but we’ll see.

In the manga, it was Garvey (the guy who raped Ashe in the library) who became the new cellmate, and it was incredibly satisfying to see Ash beat the hell out of Garvey in a fight like that. Why did they replace Garvey in place of some random generic dude for this episode? I guess that's a minor complaint, but why change? I don't see the benefit.

Other than that, it was a solid episode.

Griffin is dead. Max is a good character. I was expecting a generic yaoi bait but they care about character development and plot.

Ash stabbing his rapist's dick LMAO.

Although I was expecting Griffin to die at some point, I didn't expect it to be this soon. It was still sad tho.

Max had it rough too, he didn't have the chance to see his old friend for one last time. There was some good character development for both him and Ash, being honest. It was a nice episode.

P.S.: Ash stabbing that bastard in the balls was sooooooo satisfying.

Eiji is saved thanks to Shorter. I kinda figured he was the restaurant owner from before. He seems like a nice character. They did a good job saving Eiji but unfortunately, Griffin was killed in the process. Poor Ash, he keeps losing people left and right.

I loved that Ash really showed up his next potential rapist. Not only that, but he also put a fork through the dick of his last rapist. It was great. I don’t think anyone will be messing with him anymore.

I feel so bad for Max, he’s so affected by everything that’s happening. All he wanted to do was make things right for Griffin, and now, he’ll never even get the chance to see him again. He seems so hopeless now. At least Ash doesn’t completely hate him.

Pretty emotional episode, it seems a lot of people are dying lately, tone down before you end up with not too many people alive to continue on, I wonder when Ash is going to get released and set off to get his revenge, I'm pretty sure by now that Max will have to help out too, they are going to bring down that mafia family.
I hope they could have told Ash that Griffin was able to stand up and actually say something, that could probably give him a clue.

It was really satisfying seeing Ash jump off the cell bar to kick the rapist's ass. Can't help but cringe over the fork-on-dick situation though. Urg.

I hope Eiji doesn't blame himself on Griffin's death, nor would Ash. They need to stick together.

Griffin wasn't all there for a while. As much as it hurts Ash and Max to lose someone... I'm not sure there was much of a life in Griffin. It wasn't fair to anyone in that situation.

The rape in episode 3, horrible. When the bull guy told ash that ash "gave it to garvey without a fight" and ash basically said it was because he wanted to go to the infirmary then, so when the rape in episode 3 happened ash didnt fight back because he wanted to get hurt, so he would get to the infirmary, and he knew if he would get himself raped he would be hurt, a plan. so basically strategically allowing attackers to gang-rape him in prison. they wanted to rape him, and he knew if he let them he would get to be in the infirmary as he himself said. But, nevertheless it was horrible, because ash didn't enjoy it, and he didnt do it because he wanted to, but because it was necessary to get to the infirmary, so it was still rape at the end. he knew beforehand they wanted to rape him, so when they jumped him and started raping him, he wasn't defending himself or fighting against it because he wanted to get hurt to go to the infirmary..but it was rape nevertheless, ash knew it was necessary but he didn't do because he wanted to, only because it was necessary, so he endured the rape.. he was tied up and forcibly raped, but he didn't try to resist it because he wanted to get hurt to go to the infirmary. If you look at his reaction to the rape that happened in 3 episode vs his reaction to the rape in episode 22. In episode 22 he tried to fight it, and he escaped after the rape, but after that he breaks down and eiji hugs to calm him down. And after the rape in episode 3 he seemed more okay, because it was planned and he didn't fight against it, horrible yes..rape also yes, but it was part of his plan..just saying that there's a difference between the two rapes, one that he didn't fight for a reason(ep3)... and the second he truly was against and was fighting(ep22).

Im so happy about Ash stabbing his rapist's dick with a fork. Hell yeah the satisfaction.

A very welcome change tbh (in the manga, it's Garvey who becomes his roommate and gets nearly killed, but there's smth about getting stabbed in the dick that makes a much more satisfying payback)
