Would you like a Network in your Region to air Anime?

Back in the day, I was in the 3rd grade when my parents switched the cable service from Dish to Verizon. When it was all set up the first channel to pop-up was the Funimation Channel

It was airing Kodocha at the time and it was my first exposure to that type of show. I watched it and enjoyed it. My brother even tuned in for the next episode. It aired anime 24/7 and it was the first time I've ever encountered a channel like this. When I saw "Funimation" I thought it was one of those sponsers thingies after the credits (I didn't know how the business worked back then) and only saw it after the credits of anime like Dragon Ball Z.

So they've aired Dragon Ball (first series) and it was my first time watching Dragon Ball and I actually liked it. They've aired Black Cat, School Rumble, Kenichi: The Mightest Desciple, Ouran Highschool Host Club, Hetalia, Black Butler, Aquarion, Peach Girl, Moonphase, Baki The Grappler, Hunter X Hunter(1999 verison), Sacred Blacksmith, Sekirei,
Beck, Negima, Baka and Test
and many other shows I don't remember the name of. They released all of these shows in dub form.
Funimation Channel was taken off of my TV around early 2012 due to "low viewership". Which is crazy to think of because this was the only anime network airing anime. Many people in the Verizon Forum voiced their thoughts on how they didn't like the decision to drop the network from the cable service.
Last thing I saw from there was a Trigun Movie I don't remember the name of the movie.

TL:DR Would you like a TV Network that would air anime 24/7 in your region? (I can feel that mostly 99% will say "Yes") Also, for fun, what would you call this TV Network?

Fun Fact: The Funimation Channel was the 2nd channel to air anime 24/7. The first channel to ever do so was literally called the Anime Network

I never knew that channel existed. It ceased broadcast in 2008. I wonder where this channel was or what cable service it was availalbe on as I would've definitely tuned in. Who's actually watched anime on either Funimation Channel or The Anime Network?

P.S Not saying every showed that the Funimation Channel aired was good. I just brought up the shows it aired.
Sincerely, from Scorpio.

Nah, because it'll probably get an annoying Dutch Dub and I don't want that.
But if it got english dub with dutch subs sure, even though I don't need the dutch subs, because I understand english

I forgot to add that when Verizon was removing Funimation from the service. My brother saw the notification and actually called Verizon about it. LMAO
He thought it was like an issue with the service or something. I am just assuming, this is how I interpreted it.
Like "What the....why? This must be a bug. I'ma call them...
They told him "WE TAKING YOUR ANIME AWAY, BITCH!"

Him:

We already have one in my country (ETC..TV), it is one of the few networks worldwide to be dedicated exclusively to asian productions (anime + some korean soap operas), unfortunately since for whatever reasons very few modern anime shows are dubbed in my native language nowadays (the network is still reluctant to air subbed anime) it mostly has to rely on old shows that did get a dub.

What is this network called? I wonder why they wouldn't just air anime with subs. I mean most people I see just use subs and prefer it over dub. Maybe it doesn't apply for your region or country.

Most dutch dubs for anime are pretty decent tho(even if there aren’t very many dubbed shows in dutch.)They’re on the same level as english dubs I would say.

Sit back and listen to the story of anime in Romania.

Once upon a time, there was a cartoon channel called Minimax. Around 2004, after the regular broadcast ended (~20:00), there started an anime block called A+. There is very few documentation about it online, and the only reason i remember the year 2004 is because of the czech wiki article: https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animax (you can also see what anime aired on it; it also had some toonami stuff like Bebop and YYH so my nostalgia for those i think is similar to americans' xD)
A+ was also the very first forum i participated on and now it's completely erased on the internet :( for the better maybe

A few years later, Animax bought A+ but everyone knows about Animax, and by that time i didn't really watch TV anymore and i already answered the question so eh. This is a story for another time.

Well, then I would need to buy a TV and also to pay for that network. Seems like poorly invested money, I'd rather just stick up with online streaming.

for the time it was alive and from my vague memories i think for most of its life was something like
-one or two kids friendly show (megaman, tokyo mew mew, captain tsubasa)
-two "13+" shounens (yyh, slayers, kiddy grade, inuyasha)
-one "15+" seinen (i only remember cowboy bebop and blue gender in this slot)

near its death i remember it was just naruto bleach and some mahou shoujo (kirarin revolution maybe?) ... this was in the early 2010s

it was just going for anime feel.. here is a promo from the channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_CmX77qY-Y
it just uses anime clips... the youtube channel has more like that if you are curious
a plus era stuff online is rare cause dvr was also rare back then i think... how i'd love to see parappa the rapper and kyoro chan subbed again xD i dont think those exist even in english

btw we also had toonami but it was just american cartoons mostly superhero stuff iirc like batman beyond and justice league

It's called ETC...TV.

They don't (mostly) air subbed because since it's birth that has never been part of its business model and because of traditions.

The largest part of its audience are kids -13yo or less- (the same as Cartoon Network or any other kids network) and you are not going to show subbed anime to kids, despite they can obviously read subs the same way they can do it with the movies broadcasted by a network like HBO. They feel more comfortable with dubs. Their whole lives they have been watching animated productions dubbed and everyone feels this is "the way" those should be consumed if broadcasted by local TV.

And yes, you can surely show them anime or cartoons with their original language, but the most likely outcome is that your viewership will be reduced -since dubbed is more comfortable to these young audiences- and that's clearly not what the network wants.

But I said "mostly" because despite this, and given how costly it is to dub nowadays in relation to the potential benefits of doing so, which has resulted in less and less shows available with a dub, they have indeed broadcasted subbed anime, but this is something very recently and is still in a experimental phase. Obviously, these handful of shows are all for adult audiences (they include bad language, mild nudity, dark themes, and so on) and have been broadcasted only after midnight. (I have no idea what the results were tbh).

I don't think we ever had an anime-centric channel but I definitely remember Naruto airing at some point, I'm not sure what channel though sadly but it was one of the generic kid's tv ones. Though common things like Pokemon still airs today.

I would like a channel dedicated to it but I don't like dubs and they'd probably be too lazy (and scared) to air subbed episodes.

back then, even my local TV already airing some of the finest Anime out there, Conan, One Piece, Naruto, Doraemon, Eyeshield 21, Yu Gi Oh, Saint Seiya, InuYasha, Ghost Stories, Tsubasa, Law of Ueki, etc. yeah some of them are early 2005, because in the 2008-2010, the government has banned anime to airing in my country because “it lowers the morale of kids and young people”, even though Doraemon has been aired in my local TV for at least 25 years, nothing wrong with that, it just makes me hiatus on watching anime for 9 years, until now.

now it looks like a good time to subscribe for those anime channel, cable network is still allowed in my country so that’s fine. but the thing is that right now we dont have time to watch TV anymore:(

that dub was something special, it ahead of its time, why and how the dub actors saying that is beyond me, early 2005 is such a simpler time man, even such dub can be Accepted by Aniplex back in the day.

but most if the anime in my local TV only use a sub, only a handful of famous show receives dub

If it would lead to more exposure then yeah, I don’t think that’s a bad thing. Plenty of western anime fans found their way into this medium through shows that aired on TV when they were a kid. TV is becoming increasingly obsolete though, and I sure as hell would rather watch anime through torrenting than on TV.

We got rid of cable/satelite television here at my place, since we barely used it and every service we tried kept raising the bill so it doesn't really matter. It's cheaper to pay subscriptions to Amazon Prime, Netflix, Crunchyroll, and HiDive anyway and watch via the internet. I can just connect my laptop to the television or use the apps on my BD player if I want to watch streaming stuff on a big screen.

We had Animax up till 13th April 2017, now they have shifted their services online so I didn't bother subscribing again. It's convenient to have at least one 24x7 anime channel that mostly shows subbed anime (local dubs suck!), I can switch on the TV and do other things on my laptop at the same time so I'd love to have such a channel.

Toonami airs shows in this weird resolution. They cut the openings of many shows and they're too late for me to really stay in and watch. I wish Toonami aired at 7 PM like it did back in the day.

I literally don't care. I would never watch it televised at this point, and with things like Hulu, Netflix, and Crunchyroll you would never need it to be. I don't think there's any reason to do it, but at the same reason I don't see a real reason against it.

What about the option to watch it on TV? I see many anime watchers don't watch TV compared to others. Shows like Rick and Morty blew up in this age which is funny considering things.

Cable tv? Hell yes, they did good job with subs and few dubs. At now the tv channel in my country that aired anime in 24/7 is : toonami, waku-waku, animax or sometimes cnn

About Local tv? They're always aired dub anime, mostly in early 2000's with kids show like yugioh, dragon ball, pokemon, digimon, dorameon , or anything related.
But now there are only doraemon (2005) left aired due the copyright and cencorship. I'm feel so sad now because i didnt use cable tv and my local tv now is filled by bunch off shitty variety show and low-cost drama with hundread or 'maybe' thousand episodes
I really hoped there are many anime aired in my local tv.
