I'm turning into a otaku trying to get 10-20 episodes a day watched. But it seems like the more I watch, the more I find other series.

Like right now my currently wathching is 107 episodes, and only about 30-40 of wich are currently airing stuff, rest is shows I'm watching together with other anime, and stuff that my ad/os kicked in and got watching another show.

Anyone else ever feel this way? :> My currently watching, and plan to watch keep growing every day as I find more series and things I want to watch. And thats not even counting the daunting task of some of the bigger anime like.

I wish I didn't have time to watch anime, because it's a compulsion, not something I enjoy.

Another level of my problem is, I want to read manga too for series that are better in the manga, or are not completed in anime or even in anime, but finding hard time to stick that in with anime. Oh and I love gaming :>

Make a priority list or schedule. And try not to start too many series at the same time if you do not have enough time. I'm not the perfect example, but I think this is the best thing you can do. Oh, and you can always sacrifice sleep (not recommended)

I dont think anyone can help you with arranging your schedule for you. You will be entertained regardless and being entertained is the point. As long as you dont neglect your responsibilities you are a functioning human being.

P. S. Are you really born in 1975? I usually did that when I was little to bypass age restrictions lol

maybe in time, some of them I really love :> Nyanko days was cute, aggressive resuko is just hilarious :> Monster strike is better then it deserves to be *movie was one of the best I saw this year*

some of the shorts are just terrible, that fairy one last season, I couldn't get past the animation, and one last year that looked like a visual novel.

Why do you watch Anime? Because you enjoy it? Or because you just want you to say "I've watched xyzn anime"?
You sound like you are forced to watch, just enjoy the series, don't push yourself that much.

Now I never tried this gaming anime combo but it sounds like a recipe of not enjoying either, have you tried to dial it down, you may be 42 but you have a lot of time still.
Moving on to the original point I recommend sorting out your list by taking another look and seeing what you are most skeptical about and trying it to see if its any good. Thats how I ended up clearing most of my list anyway. That may work for me but you are you, not me. Tell me what you think about this?

well the most I can do is diablo style games where I dominate hehe and just farming and can play between subs.

Because I love it :> So many interesting series out there that I enjoy. Every anime that I have on my watching list genuinly is interesting to me, and those plan to watch, least on paper seem interesting to watch. I may seem to be a bit overboard right now, but part of that is there are so many classic anime I've never seen before so my mind is going overtime on wanting to see stuff and having a hard time focusing. Especially when I get into some of the series that are in the hundreds, or have like 10-30 series such as macross, gundam, fate/ and such.

Like if I was to watch just case closed without specials or movies would take 45 or so days if I skip on daily anime, and 2-3 months with.

Oh man, I hear ya! Currently have over 500 on my PTW. I'm watching about ten this season, three from previous seasons and dropped seven Summer 2017 shows so far. I've worked out a loose priority system were the series with upcoming sequels take precedence. This is how I don't understand how people don't drop! But I've some to understand my own taste better, so that helps with editing which shows to watch.

It's simple if you want to complete eveything. Turn into a shut in and do nothing but watch anime. You can get at least a 2 cour show watched within one day or 2 1 cour shows. Continue doing that and you will clear a lot of your PTW.

I find that I can't really enjoy more than, at most, about 10 episodes in a day, and generally speaking, I'd rather watch only as many as 1 to 3 episodes a day.

Meanwhile, for me, it's the more I talk anime with people, the more anime I discover. I've basically told my friends to not rec me anything anymore. My Plan-to-Watch is basically the result of way too much of browsing, recs, and just generally finding things by accident.

Well if you can't finish what you start it can get pretty annoying to have millions of currently watching titles. Seems more like an issue of attention span tho if you can't stay interested long enough to finish something and instead just start one thing after the other. Not a very enjoyable way of watching things imo, and that's coming from someone who also likes to watch multiple series but I can't watch more than a handful of non-airing shows at the same time before it stops being enjoyable and I just want to finish some of them. I usually just decide to not start any more when I start feeling overwhelmed. Which would have been like 60 entries ago, looking at your Currently Watching.

When we're talking about Plan to Watch stuff the fact that I keep finding interesting stuff always motivated and reassured me. I don't plan on quitting this hobby and having stuff to watch for years on end is a great feeling. I feel much more comfortable with 60 shows on my PTW than on my Currently Watching.
I probably regret this post by now.

I can watch 15 or so episodes a day, but rarly more then 3-4 of a series in a day, depends on how into it I'm am. If I'm just enjoying maybe 1-2 a day.

Like jojo's adventures, the last one for about the first half of the season it was 1-3 a day, but once things started to amp up I ran into the last 5-10 in like 2 days heh.

some shows I'm enjoying but can't watch more then 1-2 a day are, fist of north star, and neo human cashan. Enjoyable to me, but being more single adventures there isn't that, "I must see what happens next." kind of pull. Even fist of the northstar that is semi serial, it tends to have alot of solo adventures so far.

Like neo human casshan will probably be finished around october as I don't watch too many at a time, where as naruto if I watch all filler can probably finish that by mid september as that I can watch 4-5 or more in a day.

yeah, the fall sequels is one I'm working on, I've been enjoying himouto, gintsama no way I can start into that any time soon hehe :> another couple hundred episode series hehe. March comes in like a lion I watched a few episodes, was enjoying, going to get through that at some point before new season.

Time bokan and classicalloids, were entertaining, but not sure I can go through all their episodes to catch up so will work on them over time.

Now I only watch about 1 anime each month because I need to do homework. Even during the summer, I need to practice my maths, so I don't watch much anime. You don't have to watch too much anime if you're losing time that you could do something productive with. Heavy anime watching isn't a hobby, it's an addiction.

one thing that causes me to pile up my watching list is shows like xross wars, narutio, yugioh and such that have 100+ episodes or around, and i enjoy them, but I find a new 13 episode series and get thinking, "I can finish that quickly and get back to other series." and then it takes weeks because other shorter anime pop in.

Yeah I limited myself to one 100+ episode show at a time (non-airing) and it can take me a year or two to finish them (or much shorter depending on the show). I'd feel overwhelmed if I was watching a bunch of those at the same time.

Just take your time and remember that the main reason you watch anime is entertainment. You are not obliged to watch everything in a short amount of time, so don't allow numbers and lists to temper your enjoyment. Otherwise you might not even recall anything you watched so far and then you'll be like: what was the point? If you waste your time anyway you should not waste it any more by hurrying and worrying about too many anime in your plans.

Also think about it from a positive side, you'll definitely won't be bored for another couple of years (or decades). You know, a lot of people have problems finding what to do or how to entertain themselves, so you can even consider yourself lucky.

yeah, plus I think part of my problem is I'm not jaded. I'm watching all non sequel series to ones I've not watched this season because I'm enjoying them, but to those that have seen 400+ full series, many of them are done better elsewhere and cliche so they are quicker to drop.

I havn't found a anime I've hated yet outside of the badly cheeply done shorts, other then hatsukoi monster, and that was more it went WAY too much into uncomfortable territory for me.

I've been going back and trying to watch some of my partly watched series.

Don't think about having a growing ptw list as something bad. It means that you get invested in the medium and you have expectations. There is no rush to complete it, pace yourself and watch at will.

I have a lot more titles in my ptw than you and I don't see the big deal. I haven't been able to watch anything in a long while and my pace is slow, so I don't expect to complete it soon. I know some people like to keep a dynamic ptw and only list the shows they want to watch soon but for me it's more of a reminder of everything I intend to see.

By the way, if you are stressed by the size of your ptw, check my movie watchlist that is reaching 8,000 titles and growing...

That's quite cool, I've always been kind of inconsistant with my will to watch stuff, and I like to take my time. With watchlist I mean those I plan to watch, by the way. At my current pace watching 8,000 would take me... 30-40 years maybe?

oh god...don't get me started on films :> I could spend years adding movies and never remember all the ones I've seen hehe. Days when our local movie rental let you rent unlimited movies for 50$'s a month, and I would rent 10 at a time from singles, old you name it hehe.

That's quite cool, I've always been kind of inconsistant with my will to watch stuff, and I like to take my time. With watchlist I mean those I plan to watch, by the way. At my current pace watching 8,000 would take me... 30-40 years maybe?

yeah :> well like case closed would take me at my current rate about 45 or so days to catch up :> And thats one series.

Yeah, I don't always feel in the mood to watch any given thing either. And I'd much rather wait until I am in the mood, because if I'm not, then I won't enjoy it, and watching it will only be for the sake of checking off a box, basically, which is meaningless.

But yeah, these days I basically don't want to browse for more shows to watch. Instead I have been trying telling myself, "just browse your own plan-to-watch instead".
