I'm sure.

Not a name came from anime though. Maybe I can name them some generic Japanese name, of course it would have to have a meaning and not a senseless one. Some of these comments like name them western maybe or weebo overload, like that. Pretty much saying western is the get-to-go names eh?

I hope someday someone in an anime would say, "The (anime) viewers are weird."

I'm pretty sure that would be considered child abuse.

OT: no.

Only if it is a respectable name. I wouldn't mind Johan or something as normal.

would be weird to name a non-japanese with a Japanese name, plus you must also consider whether your sons/ daughters name could contribute to her being bullied in the future. The English names are fine though.

no matter how much i like kurisu, or yukinon or even kaori, there names are too japanese. even tho my name is kinda japanese too hahaha
My biggest regret is using my real name as my user name.

The continuous pursuit of finding that genuine thing.

No, I know what it's like to have a weird name since I have one so I wouldn't do that to my kid
I mean if it's a normal anime name like Emilia or Alice maybe I would but I don't like a character enough to do that and I haven't considered it before

Lol im sure my parents dont know what anime is, i dont think they care if it exist or if i watch, but being israelian and being named Yan gives people the idea im a wimpy glasses jap otaku, well im quite taller and more biologically advanced than people in my school(noone dares to pick a fight with me lol) but im also in the.. Ummm idk the word in english, but im in the top class of my school, i get good grades, and im an otaku. Well even tho i dont look jap i was named yan, people mistake me for a wimpy otaku, im actually like characters that are mistaken for delinquents xD and well im an otaku. My familly members all have unique names(except for 1 of my brothers)
Im named jap, my brother named american, my smaller brother is named with a name which is one hellova unique name but im not gonna give u my life in a post. So, you can say that giving unique names, and jap anime names is fine( im an example) but dont take it too far off course, like naming your daughter yukimiziwawa when she goes to an american school
Well dayum

I'm a writer, and i have named some of my characters after anime characters. Not intentional, but they share the same name.
And my characters are like my babies, so i guess that answers your question.

Who knows, I've got terrible naming sense, so I might borrow a name or two.

On a completely serious note, something universal (like Sara) is best, I'd say.

Some anime names aren't bad - I'd think about naming a kid Sebastian after Sebastian in Black Butler, I really like that name and because of Sebastian in Crossing Lines as well lol.

Yes, that's a whole new level of weeb for sure LOL

Some names could translate just fine, like Sena or Rikka (maybe spelled Rika instead), but naming your kid like Matsuri or something is just stupid. Although, "A-A-Ron Balakay" is a pretty lame one too :p

Zelda is a normal girl's name, though... It wasn't made up for the video game.

Yes, but the father himself admitted he got it from LoZ. It wouldn't have been cringy if he just said it wasn't from LoZ and said he thought of it himself.

It's still a real girls name like Zelda in Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

If its something simple and common like Rin, I don't see the reason why, but I wouldn't call them complicated names like Seigi or Nadeshiko. People always say that if you do that you'll be a filthy weeb and it's just child abuse, I don't think they understand what child abuse actually is. If you want to name your child based on a character you loved, go ahead. Do what you want. It's literally no one else's business what you are going to name your kid or not, and if some adult even has the balls to laugh at a child's name they should be ashamed.

Probably gonna name my first born Adolf, cuz why not? Based off my favourite mango character, Adolf Hitler-tan. jk

If I'm weeb enough though, I'd consider names like Hiroyuki, Kohaku (or just Haku) or if I want a more "western" name like Nina or Merry.

I am inspired by Anne Frank from Anne no Nikki ( https://myanimelist.net/anime/3829/Anne_no_Nikki ) so I would name my child dedicated to her one day eventhough her story was heavily fabricated through the years that it became nearly fictional

Such racist and antisemitic contents this thread has!

I'll have you know I reported all you evil goyim on 4chan to the ACLU for racism, and attempting to start the second holohoa- holocuast.

Why, I remember when I was a little schpitz running around, and I got captured by an evil Nazi named George Zimmerman!

He holocausted me over and over with his Nazi Luger, straight to the chest! I was just returning home from the store with watermelon Schnapps, and fruit flavored Matzo balls.

You'll be hearing from my lawyer it was real in my mind goy, IT WAS REAL IN MY MIND!!!

Even though I like the names of certain characters, I would never name my child after an anime character. However when I was a little girl, I loved the manga "Tokyo mew mew." And I thought that if I ever got a cat I would name it Ichigo, because I loved the name and the manga so much.
