| No. That's retarded. I don't think English is your first language but try to listen.. A recipe for a good anime is excelling in all major aspects of a series. This is story, character development, character acting/animation, musical themes and presentation. I feel this was a poor job at trying to push your stupid beliefs/political correctness into the spotlight. Also Madoka isn't a loli- it isn't just age. She's older than characters like Misaka Mikoto- presentation/personality and appearance matter more than age. Hence why you can have 600 year old gods that are still lolis. Good anime is good because it did something right. You need to see more shows if you are stuck on a track where you believe an anime is on average more successful by showcasing small children suffering. |

Those are just foundations though, Naruto became popular because of other stuff, some of which were built around those plot points. |

| Not really a recipe but a more and more prevalent ingredient for easy empathy. I think it is not a new thing but probably it become more prevalent thanks to Evangelion. The problem is that they fail to grasp the use of EVA of victimization for a wider narrative and stop at the victimization for the sake of victimization. I would also add Steins; Gate and Monogatari series to the culprits. Also depends how you use victimization because you named HxH and I don't remember clear events that I would call victimization in the sense of unwarranted dramatization of a victim (I never felt Gon was ever victimized, Alluka and Killua was only a bit). However if any anime that has victims can be accused of victimization then victimization is inevitable in most shows.
