| As far as I know the alt-right is a group of white people (European heritage) advocates who look to gain public acceptance (the acceptance that other group of minorities in the US has) to look for their people's interests in the society of multicultural US, they seek to gain influence in order to gain a state for that is centered around their people and culture, because they dont like multiculturalism, they also use Race statistics and Social statistics as an attachments [in addition to their preference to their original culture and society] to their disapproval of a multicultural society, and they base this on the argument that they have no place to go because all their countries are being forced to become multicultural societies, so they claim they have no option to go elsewhere and that's the reason they keep fighting current establishment. They also share a love for their History, Culture, Language, Heritage of Europe, mainly Western Europe. Their most fundamental beliefs are: White European identity and heritage, anti-egalitarianism, races are different. While some other minorities may have another extra beliefs such as supremacy, or anti-women in politics ..etc, they are not part of the main core beliefs of their group which they created and are not required for members to adapt. I would compare it to moderate Muslims, who took their old classical ways and changed them into a more tolerant ideologies in order to fit in with modern society (example is Egypt). I'm not sure, this is what I got from discussing with two members of the alt-right on the Internet. To me, i dont see anything evil about them, another different point of view in the world, but as the recent events proved, most people are like drones and they are not open minded about anything that contradicts their beliefs.
