Oh wow. That was incredible. Seriously! The best episode so far, no doubt. Betelguese's VA, all these feelings, deaths... everything was great. 5/5. I just hope that it will stay that way to the end. = ] |

If he was the Villain of the story. Reinhard would just do one regular sword swing and GG. Dude. Remember why this anime is even a thing beyond the first half of the first episode? None other than Return by Death. And by 'villain', I don't mean a literal cackling evil sort of villain, but...hm, how to explain it? He'd be ruthless at manipulating everyone around him to get what he wanted, like that. |

This was by far the best episode, but seeing Rem being tortured like that was hard to watch. Can't wait for the next episode. Hope we get an explanation as to why Puck killed Subaru.. |

Fucking. Shit. However, I do have a problem with Betelgeuse. I know he's supposed to be deranged and over the top and make you feel scared and uncomfortable, but he was seriously TOO spastic and insane. I didn't even really feel scared, he was just funny to me and he made me laugh. Maybe I'll just have to wait for the subs, but seriously he was like an Akame ga Kill villain or something. For now though, he's an effective villain I guess... Someone may have mentioned this already, but for me, the juxtaposition between that and the few moments he switches over to a serious tone are what truly make him scary/intimidating. He's WAY too over the top to be scary. One of the things that Re Zero would always fail for me is the idea of Tension ,cause at Rem is killed by the Joker scene I knew immediately that He would just die again soon so we can get a Reset. Nonsense. Betelgeuse wasn't written to be afraid to appear 'over the top' as you call it. As he's genuinely evil. Oh yeah he'd die again. But...how? If Rem hadn't freed him, he'd either die of dehydration, or by bleeding to death by biting his tongue. Sure, no tension. How he died wouldn't make a difference since the moment Rem died at that scene, the audience already knows he's going to reset right back. I'm not saying it's a bad scene it's just how the story goes. I said he's so over top it's hard to find him scary because I cannot take him seriously. He's like a really annoying clown at kid's birthday party. Wouldn't you find it scary to know that the clown at the party is an insane murderer? Eh. I would but then I would soon realize that no one will actually ever get hurt because JUST KIDDING, everyone isn't dead because Superman just turned back time. They got hurt. They always get. But the real problem is that they'll keep getting. The danger won't disappear. It'll be constant. So their suffering will keep being relevant. You argue saying that things return to normal and stay that way. So there's no need to care. But that's not the case. So by your logic, you wouldn't mind seeing someone you care for getting raped repeteatedly, right? Because you can just go back in time... You might get used to see it. You'll adapt. Hahahah. But adapting doesn't equals erasing. It is erasing though. No one will remember they got raped or died because it never happened YET, that's the whole idea of TIME TRAVEL. To them IT NEVER HAPPENED. Only you are mentally affected. Emilia even says it. She never actually saves Subaru from the 'bad guys' so she doesn't even know why Subaru thinks she's awesome. It's happening over and over again. It'll keep happening. Resetting doesn't makes the problems disappear, because the source is still there. And it'll inevitably affect you. Subaru can't not care for what's happened, because it'll happen again. They'll suffer again. You'd be waiting for it. So how can you ignore it? What you say only applies to the end. Huh? There was progression. She remembers the thugs. And Elsa. No, It will happen again and again till it stops happening, ( When the MC decides on a plan that works) then it would 'never have happened'. Like how Emilia died in the first arc over and over. But now she will never remember she died in the first arc because it never 'truly' happened. The story's long. He'll keep devising plans. Issues will keep appearing. Those close to him will keep suffering. It'll affect him as it would anyone. It's likely that some characteres will die permanently, too... And Subaru will be forced to accept it. And you know, even though Emilia and Subaru didn't die, what happened between at the castle was very significant, and became permanent. We've to remind ourselves that Subaru has no control over which point he comes back to. Trust me It's not a spoiler but Subaru and Emilia will not permanently die until maybe the real end of the series. How do I know this? Am I the Author? No. Did I read the Novel? No. It's called common sense. Bananaoranges said: Idiotproofninja said: IronCaren said: This Wait What How Holy damning damn. What can I say to this? Just... Whoa. If he was the Villain of the story. Reinhard would just do one regular sword swing and GG. We get it dude, you dislike Subaru and Emilia. There's no need to constantly insult them for no good reason. His return from death would make him a pretty darn powerful villain if used properly. Calling him weak is an insult. Is he strong in the universe he inhabits? If the answer is NO, then he's weak. His ability has the POTENTIAL to be powerful but he'll never utilize it in a way to maximise it's potential because he's too scared of dying. |

So, lemme see... How do I say this... THIS SHIT WAS SO FUCKING EPIC! And finally it's getting epic again! Didn't like the 2 episodes before, but NOW we're talking! Best episode yet, honestly! Love this anime. (I wanted to say other things too and detail my opinion a bit, but meh, too late for that and I forgot it anyway) (Also, what was this weird cat thingy at the end though? "Sleep, just like my daughter"? Defuq? Implying Rem's mom isn't dad? (Get the pun?)) Dayum, though. So awesome. Also, I abandon the Emilia best girl bandwagon. All aboard the Rem-train! |

So? She's not the only one he cares for. And even if she doesn't die, it could happen that he'd start hating her. ... I hope you're aware that the author has already predicted your OBVIOUS criticisms. It should've been clear. I already told some other users the same. They semed to be unaware. Did you even read what you wrote. If he'd started to hate her I'd give this show a 10/10. Kick out the worst girl. Hahaha. But that will never happen. I'm not psychic. It's common sense. How the show feels to me is how the show feels to me. To me it lacks tension because I know what's going to happen. It's not a criticism. That's how I felt. If you felt different more power to you. Everything affects people differently. Just like how everyone likes different kinds of music and finds music others love really annoying. She already isn't and won't be appearing much. It's like he predicted this, too... Ah, can't be... Eh. |

Holy shit the ending looked like something straight out of Asura's wrath! Defo tons of slow progress coming now. That sloth guys cringe inducing acting was top notch, I wonder what made puck give Subaru a quick and painless death at the end. |

She's a horribly written character but she'll be back. |

Question about the Rem IF chapter What I don't understand is this: We know that if Subaru runs away, Emilia and everyone in the village gets killed, puck turns into God mode and starts freezing the world as per his contract. But in Rem IF, it takes place 8 years after, so what happened to Puck? Like, did he decide to stop freezing the planet or get stomped by someone after Subaru ran away? I doubt there's even an answer to this, but eh, it was on my mind |

Ausama95 said: I think the creature is Puck because Puck uses ice magic and both have an earring in there left ear. There is also another hint when the "monster" says that he should rest beside his daughter and remember Puck refers to Emilia as his daughter so that makes the 2 very strong points that shows that the monster indeed is Puck |
