This happens in every romance anime, and I don't like it. I mean, the main character should just choose one and just stick with him/her (usually her).

I really hate the love triangles I create.

All ready to ship a couple but then a new person shows up with a sad story and I want them to have all the love instead... yes I'm looking at you Shin-Ah, you poor bastard.

Now, Titania, shall we bet? If those two would get along.
Rather than that, it would be better to bet on how many are made.

Nope. That would be boooooooooring.
There has to be some form of conflict and if it's in the form of a love triangle then I'm fine with it. Just execute it well enough & make it as less cliched as possible..

I think love triangles are fine as long as the main character picks someone at the end and its not cheesy

Yes. Love triangles are cancer.
Just fuck off 3rd wheel character that has no chance anyways.

If the character actually has a legit chance it's different, but since most of them appear and you just know they're not gonna be there in the end. Disgusting.

It has conflicts that adds to strong character development for all the characters and in many cases, there is no predictable winner that makes it more interesting. While I say this, I also enjoy when there is a pure relationship and want the main character to pick who I believe is the best girl, particularly in harem animes such as to- love ru.

Love triangles always make any romance in fiction interesting.

It is an opportunity to delve into several things brought on by the conflict .

A romance anime without one is bland as hell.

Like everything else, a love triangle done poorly is bad. Pointing out the obvious, all plot devices and tropes are just dependent on how you utilize them. Even tsuns can be good (Makise Kurisu).

Are you saying that tsuns are bad. If a tsun is done well, they can be really nice characters.

Love triangles are good if well executed as they are a source of conflict and drama in a show.
“Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth. But the world isn't perfect, and the law is incomplete..." -Alphonse Elric

"Then and now, what I protect has never changed!" -Sakata Gintoki

I'll take anything like The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. Anything as good as that.

I'm saying that there are bad and good ones, depends on how you utilize them. Did you even read my post or just thought to quote on the last sentence?

I love well done love triangles, but absolutely despise horribly done love trianges.

Well done = Nagi no Asukara
Horribly done = Shakugan no Shana

I hate it when the story is heavy on the love triangle drama where as the character whos gonna lose is so obviously gonna lose, it makes the drama so pointless and every time it attempts at the drama, I cringe and facepalm.

Shakugan no Shana is a great example of horribly pointless love triangle drama that contributed little to nothing to the series.

I also dislike shoujo triangles with 1 girl and 2 boys.

Every character is nice if done well.

for tsun case, it should be "if they're aint a violent gorilla they could be a nice character"

I typically dislike them because they're normally poorly done. You can usually tell when when the 3rd character is there just for the sake of causing a love triangle, not because they actually have a chance at getting with the MC.

If there was a legitimate love triangle that actually adds something to the story then I wouldn't mind that.
It's an entirely different kind of flying, altogether!

I also don't intend to love them, especially when you never who he\she will end up with (vampire knight, for example) and that's why I tend not love harems (as no one is picked up in the end. though I THINK it's more common in reverse harem)

What are u talking about? Love triangles make the romance animu into 10/10 stuff.

If u feel sad about the left-alone girl then dont worry, just take her to urself lol

They're better than love hexagons.

I think they're fine for the most part. If the people involved end up in actual relationships at the end then it can feel more satisfying than if there wasn't a triangle. Love squares where there's at least one same-sex couple are interesting too.

Well it depends
if the anime is:
Not Romance : then it can be fine if it helps to develop characters
Short romance : must be very well done
Long Romance : "boring", unnecessary, a longer romance anime should have some more to it then a triangle

Keep in mind, it's my opinion, and there can be exceptions.

I can like or dislike it depending of the execution. But I usually don't like when one of the members of the triangle lost, because it's tend to be sad.

The only time it gets annoying is when you see it in almost every shoujo manga. Just look at Kaichou wa Maid-sama. It's a cheesy shoujo manga where it's painfully obvious that the main couple will end up together but the genius author thought it was nice to put a third wheel that's obviously gonna lose and make the shota crossdresser fall for Misaki creating a pointless reverse harem. I still like Misaki and Usui though.

Love triangles done right are good. Having an extra character just for the sake of conflict when we know he/she has no chance with the MC makes it less interesting, although not entirely boring.

Every cliche or trope, no matter how tiresome or overused, if written and executed well enough, there's a high chance that the audience will love it. Not everything can be fresh and new.

My favorites are when one of the three is just absolutely crushed. Like, their heart just gets broken into a whole bunch of little pieces.
Romance sucks without the sads.

I've yet to see one that impress me. Nagi no Asukara's Love Polygon was cool, but I can't say I hate it since I haven't seen it's potential.
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; What is essential is invisible to the eye.

But does the heart have the right perspective?

A one-sided love triangle, I don't like. I feel bad for the girl/boy that ends up sacrificing everything for him/her and ends up being the girl/boy who watches their rival get the prize.
