It counts; Hunters receive jobs with good payment by working as bodyguards or fighters. At least, that's what it looks to me. Also, can someone help me by recommending an anime to me? A 1-cour series is fine, by the way. |

Shinjisus said: If it started airing in 2016 and it's one cour (12/13 episodes) then it's fair game, but you have to complete it before handing in your form. If starts airing in 2016 season and it carries on into 2017 then you may use it as long as you're caught up with what has aired so far when you hand in your form. If it's longer than 2 cours (ie. 30+ episodes) and finishes airing in 2016 then you may use it as long as you are caught up. The main reason for these rules is so people can't just add a bunch of seasonals and say they've completed the challenge when they've barely watched anything.I didn't understand very well all the stuff related with seasonal anime. Can I use anime that started airing in 2016 or not? There actually is a challenge for "watch an anime that started airing when the person above or below you started MAL" as well as "when you started MAL" so some people will be forced to watch anime from 2016. |

@SheyCroix (or I guess anyone really) - I might be over thinking it but just want clarity. For the challenge Watch an anime by a director/composer/studio you don't know, does it count if you've watched anime by them before but didn't know their names prior to the challenge? Or does it have to be something you have 0 experience with? For example, when I first saw Death Note I didn't even know what Madhouse studio was. Assuming I'd never heard of them up until this challenge, would I be able to use them? namea said: I haven't seen it myself (planning to), but http://myanimelist.net/anime/4189/Winter_SonataOn topic, can someone recommend me something interesting for: » Watch a Korean or Chinese anime ? |

As far as the challenge is concerned, in order to have not heard of someone, you just have to not have seen any of the work by them. Even if you've heard of other work they've done, it's cool as long as you haven't seen anything they have done before. |

It's one entry in the DB with 75 episodes. I never really understood the cours thing and there's no explanation in the sign up thread about it. Cour refers to the airing period and is only applicable to TV series. One cour is one anime airing season which is three months. It would not be surprising to not understand it as Black Rock Shooter with 8 episodes and The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato with 16 episodes would both be considered one cour by most people even though one is twice as long as the other. In the past anime would take long rest periods without breaking the anime into separate seasons so although The Big O took 14 cour to air it was only actually airing for two of those and should be looked at as a 2 cour anime. Katanagatari is only 12 episodes, each being 50 minutes long, but it only released one episode every month so it is a 4 cour anime. Chi's Sweet Home is 104 episodes long, each being 3 minutes long, and four episodes were released every week so it aired over six months making it a 2 cour anime. Princess Tutu had 13 episodes which were 24 minutes and 25 episodes which were 12 minutes. It aired over four seasons making it a 4 cour anime despite being the same length as a 2 cour anime. Anime with short episodes such as Teekyuu are still the same amount of cour that they took to air. Kekkai Sensen was intended to be a one cour anime but the final episode was delayed well into the following season. Although it took two seasons to air it is still a one cour anime. Kiss x Sis (OVA), Flag (ONA), and Magic Kaito (Special) all have 24 minute episodes and have 12/13 episodes like one cour anime do, but since they are not TV type anime and do not have regular airing schedules they are not considered to have "cours". Magic Kaito was aired on TV, but it was aired as a special series it was not aired one episode per week. Anime that are split into separate seasons are treated as more than one anime. For example, Kirarin☆Revolution is a single anime that is 153 episodes which makes it 12 cour. Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream and its sequels Dear My Future and Rainbow Live are 51 episodes each adding up to 153 episodes but they are three separate 4 cour anime. |

To clarify things, "Watch a highly rated and completed anime from another challenger who posted on the same page you signed up on", is meant for anime on the user's list in general, not just the ones they've finished for the challenge? |

Okay, I'm confused. For a category "Watch a staff member's favorite anime", I watched Yuru Yuri season 3, which this staff member had listed in his favourites. And then suddenly he changes all of his favourites before my challenge was finished. I didn't even think of such possibility, and I didn't make a screenshot of his previous favourites. What am I supposed to do in this situation? Is the show I watched ineligible for the challenge now? |

For challenges such as "watch an anime with less 10k completed members" when the anime a participant is using is on the border of not passing they may choose to add extra information about why it was acceptable when they watched it. As for the anime you mentioned I checked all of them and Tantei Team KZ: Jiken Note, Kaidan Resturant and Element Hunters should defiantly work. All of the main characters there are in elementary school and/or at most 12 years old. Beyblade, Inazuma Eleven, Whistle and Gundam Build Fighters might work, even if only barely cause they all have characters that are 14 years old. Inazuma Eleven even has all of the three mains listed as 14 years old, so I think it might be best to choose something else. Sadly Ginga e Kickoff, Shugo Chara and Zettai Karen Children don't work since they all have at least one character in their main cast that's definitely over the age limit. Having said this there is also a lot of old shoujo and or some classic (children's?) book adaptations to choose from, which was my original plan if Kemono no Souja Erin shouldn't work out but then I thought it over and finally settled for Hanada shounen-shi. |

But since the last time I looked at his list, he has removed scores from the majority of his completes, including the anime I used. Could you confirm this case as well? Yeah, I think there are older stuff and book adaptations that would work, which is why I said that anime aimed at a younger demographic would probably work (anime like Kemono no Souja have children's books as source materials and those are usually aimed at children). I just haven't really seen much old stuff so I can't think of any specific titles that qualifies off the top of my head. =/ Of course, not all kid's shows would work. For example, hero/superpower shows might be hit or miss since while some might aim at kids by having kid characters which empowers kids, other hero shows aim to have a heroic role model that kids can admire as a protagonist (or just a fun/cool character that's fun to watch). It's kind of interesting now that I think about it. Though darn, I though some of those were fine (esp. Ginga e Kickoff, but then again, I guess the bigger the main cast, the more likely that there's that one guy that just doesn't qualify for this). Oh well. =) |

» Watch an anime recommended to you by another Anime Watching Challenge participant Alright friends, I've finally hit the point in the challenge where I need something from you wonderful people. Preferably not very long, ideally 1-cour or less. But if it's a 2 cour that I "absolutely positively most see under any circumstance no matter what", I'll consider it. Other than that, no restriction. |

If you want something shorter than maybe Eve no Jikan would work. From feature films I would go with Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo, Ouritsu Uchuugun: Honneamise no Tsubasa or Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki. |

@SheyCroix Simply because I was meaning to ask a while ago and never did and it is similar to the question at hand; I have noticed some people have deleted their entries for whatever reason, does this effect the categories that use information from other users after you have already finished a show before they deleted their entry. For example, if the person directly above you had an join date of 2013 and they delete their entry after you have already finished a 2013 show for the "» Watch an anime that started airing the same year the user above/below you joined MAL" challenge making 2013 not a valid year, how is it handled at turn in? Do they have to watch a new anime that fits in that category? |

Do they have to watch a new anime that fits in that category? It does affect since there's no evidence of it (unless they have a screenshot of it). So if this happened the user would need either a screenshot or to change the entry. For those we can't solve them just by asking the other user since anyone can say yes... The entries affected, if someone deleted their form, would be: » Watch an anime that started airing the same year the user above/below you joined MAL » Watch a highly rated and completed anime from another challenger who posted on the same page you signed up on » Watch an anime that another user has watched for this challenge |
