Zone of the Enders has an anime, this isn't new.
I love Christine

"If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; In proportion as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less complex, and solitude will not be solitude, nor poverty poverty, nor weakness weakness." - Henry David Thoreau

He can tell great stories, while Peace Walker and MGSV were bad games in my opinion, (Missions get repetitive very fast) im willing to give him a chance :)

With lengthiest of cutscenes all from the past games he made, I thought he would be better off making film/animations instead.

I love the MGS franchise, so I wouldn't mind Kojima trying out something in the industry. But tbh, I think it's better for everyone if he just sticks to games.

I'll definitely watch Kojima's anime if he ever makes one..

I mean, why not? He's one of the most legendary directors in the gaming industry right now. If he moves to the anime industry, he's probably going to be the next Gen Urobuchi.

In terms of gameplay, of course..In terms of story, nah. It doesn't even come close to MGS3's story.

I don't see how it was Konami, there are straight up 30 missions in main story with NO STORY.
Like, there is NOTHING in the game. And that is not a problem on Konami. I bet if Kojima cared about story we would not have "MADE BY KOJIMA" in every mission.

MGSV's story was pretty great (even though the pacing was a bit rushed) in the first half. After beating Metal Gear Sahelanthropus, the story just took a deep nose dive and ended up as a train wreck at the end. I don't blame Kojima for the train wreck, however.

Look, we can both agree that MGSV's story was heavily and I mean HEAVILY affected by Konami's stupid decision to move to mobile gaming and pachinko machines.

It's been a long time since I played MGSV but if I remember correctly, most of those missions were on Chapter 2. I'm sure that Kojima had plans with Chapter but ended up putting those same missions but with different difficulties.

Dude, I can tell you the hole game right now:
Big boss is out of hospital, big boss makes base, big boss meets skull face (who has no impact on the story by the way, cas his only development is a 1 side talk in the car), big boss destroys mg. It would be impossible for me to try and explain mgs3 without writing an essay.

Firstly, I own all the MGS games. MGS 1 on my PSP, MGS HD Collection on my PS3, MGS4 on my PS3 and MGS5 on my PS4 so I played all the games. Secondly, MGSV did have a story on Chapter 1. Basically, his old mother base was attacked by Cipher, "Big Boss" builded a new Mother Base so he can get his revenge on Cipher, they met Skull Face who was part of the XOF organization and his intentions were to abolish the English language (if I remember correctly). It may not be the best story in the franchise but it did have a story. What about Quiet's story? Now that was a good one.

The topic is moot. You are trying to convince me that MGSV had a bad or inferior story to the rest of the MGS games. I say I disagree.

The SW comment was a simple observation (I know you are lying)

Ok, I know there is a story. I just consider it non existent as it is such a small fraction of a game. Most of the game is just get this person, blow that up.

Saying stuff like "I like MGS so yay" isn't really a proper justification..
I honestly don't know what to think of this..
Does Hideo Kojima have any material that he can make an anime out of? I don't see MGS being an anime & castlevania is a long shot..
But of course he's gonna come up with new material..

To be brutally honest, its probably going to suck. The transition from making games to making anime is pretty big. Plus I remember the plot of the Metal Gear Solid series being really convuluted. Granted, its been year since I last played them, but still.

Still don't see the point of doing one though considering the story and characters were never the game's strong points in the first place. If we're doing it purely for the eye candy, sure but I doubt anyone would put a significant amount of money into adapting MGR of all things.

It's just my speculation, bruh. I know nobody is adapting mgr anytime soon as much as everyone else around here.

And I think action heavy games like mgr when adapted(especially into movies) don't really need strong characters. Over the top action , outrageous villains and an equally batshit insane protagonist with great animations and fight choreography would have been enough.

His stories are insane and stupid. That's perfect for anime.

If he sticks with visual storytelling, it'll probably be great. Regardless, it'll be entertaining.
