| Would this work? If I goot a Japanese translator to put the chapters up in japanese couldn't I technically be a mangaka and maybe if I'm doing well enough get my manga animated in Japan? They'd never know I'm not Japanese |

| You're going to need two things for any publisher to be willing to take you on: 1) Fluency in the Japanese language. 2) A Japanese citizenship. Having to hire a competent translator for each chapter and for any sort of correspondence with the publishing team would be outrageously expensive and so much of a hassle that it would simply not happen. It would also create a huge cultural gap if you do not know Japanese which would not make you an appealing author. Japan's immigration laws are very strict when it comes to paid work and publishers would not be willing to hire a foreigner that could suddenly be sent back to their country the next day. Japanese citizenship is not impossible to obtain (5 years of residence there, a stable job, good conduct and an understanding of the language are the general requirements), but you would have to renounce your other citizenship which almost nobody is willing to do. Let's just say there's a reason why there are no foreign mangaka. |
