| A lot of these spider species have some sort of courtship that they can perform to woo the female into not eating them. If they don't woo her, she eats them anyway. Being a self aware human being, I would refrain from it if I knew Anna was just going to eat me afterwords. |

| The male Redback spider will force the female to eat them because this will result in a higher chance for their offspring to survive. The male isn't that much bigger than the female's mouth, so I don't think this is too difficult. There's a good reason why sexual cannibalism is only practiced by arthropods. |
