| Oh wow! That was amazing. Huge build up of events and characters, we finally know a bit about Ushio's mother. I am so curious to know why is she protecting the monster. Also how did the father marry her :p Tora is the best creature ever :D |

| The whole part of the old man being a youkai, moreover the boss of youkais is very weird. Why would he take human form and be in a random forest? Anyways I loved the episode. The match between Tora and Hitotsuki was predictable, but decent at least. 4/5 This series is so underrated |
| Interesting episode, with the sentence "You can take whatever you need from Mayohiga" completing the reference to the Tohno/Touno Legend (Tōno Monogatari). Even the chikens and the tea boiling in one of the rooms are references! |

I think they're only leaving in the stories absolutely crucial to the overall plot, and anything from those chapters that is, will be thrown in later on. I'm not worried. By the way, when you say "21 chapters", it makes it sound like such a lot, but you failed to mention that each 'episode' that the anime adapts is like 6+ chapters in the manga. I seem to recall that Rock Eater one being 4 chapters, yet in both animes, they only covered it in 1 and included 99% of the content. So you're making it seem far worse than it is. The chapters are short. So in 21 chapters, that's like... what? 3 stories, 4 maybe? That's not TOO drastic. Anyway, I knew that old guy was a Tengu the moment I saw his face, haha. And if they to eat him... boy will they ever be surprised. And considering that the cake lady knew him, he probably dons this disguise and interacts with the humans quite often. |
