| I have seen a few somewhat reliable stories of people being prosecuted and having jail time for having 2D images of lolicon or something on their computer. Having 2d images or video is something I don't think should be illegal anywhere, not that I'm even a lolicon or anything. In Japan I believe it's legal but the laws in my country and others seem really vague, a fictional character's age is irreverent, you could say they're 18, 5 or 60 so how can they be underage? And even if you say they are, it's a freaking drawing, who is the victim here? Also does it matter if you actually have it on a hard drive or on paper, or is simple web browsing sufficient as evidence? It seems most hentai could be claimed to have underage characters so why don't websites get shut down? |

| Its a silly idea, the whole point of those laws is to protect real children but cartoons aren't real nor can you claim pre-crime because they resemble something.
