There some reason why Tohsaka and Shirou couldn't kiss? They had a damn sex scene in the original VN so the least we could have gotten is a kiss. As if to spit in our faces, Ufortable ended them on... a handshake. Wow.

I'm giving the 2nd season a 5/10. I don't like how Tohsaka and Shirou's relationship was handled. Ufotable dumbed it down unbelievably.

No one can deny that FSN has both a better beginning and ending episode than FZ

Ending maybe, the beginning I hardly can find a better thing that the first episode of zero... the summoning scene still give me the chills.

The summoning scene was fantastic, but does it really hold up against Archer vs Lancer?

This is all opinion, but I'd take the latter.

I agree, F/Z may have become glorious once things started to pick up, but I think that the first episode still had a bit too much exposition for my tastes.

There's no sex too in the RN version of the VN, it is from there that come the scene in the episode 22.

And we've been through that already that RN censor version is even dumber than the sex scene.

Btw I wonder if Prototype is connected to KnK's timeline or is a completely different one entirely. KnK and prototype as far as I know are the only one that exists on their own after the end of mahoyo timeline split. Tsukihime, F/KL, F/Z, FSN, FHA, all exist in the same main branch.

Edit: Wait theres still F/A, F/SF, F/E, and F/E CCC so nevermind I don't even know where any of these fit.
Apocrypha branches off from the 3rd HGW in Fuyuki. The time period of the main story is during the time the 5th is suppose to happen.
Strange fake happens a few years after the 5th HGW because

Extra branches off from the 1970's. Plus the existence of the Mooncell contradicts a lot of stuff in Tsukihime and FSN so it's a different world entirely. CCC happens during Extra.

It didn't make much sense in the VN anyway, the explanation was plauisble but it was just an excuse for FS and H.
Their relationship in this epilogue was well done and believable, it was questionable why they didn't kiss but Shirou said that hey hadn't matured at all which was kind of clear in this episode, he is still a pu**y and can't express his feelings properly.

Shiro doesn't know that you're meant to turn the handles of hot pans away from the edge. 0/10.

Though that was a satisfying ending and it seems there's going to be another series, following Shiro/Archer in that weird "outside of time" thing Archer did? Confusing but hopefully it's good and I'll probably watch it.

lolwat.
Nope.

There's no "weird outside time thing". The "outside time" place that Archer is in he will remain in and shirou will never be there.

The ending sequence was a metaphor.
Archer was "stuck" in the "desert storm "of friction between ideal and reality, unable to cross it, while ubw shirou is moving forward instead of stopping and successfully making a more realistic and healthy approach to idealism work.

The scene as Nasu wrote it, but was cut in the anime for whatever reason;
[[Wasteland Scene
After the credits. The same wasteland as at the beginning.
Shirou is walking alone. Exhausted, he comes to a stop.
When he looks down, there are signs that somebody was here before him. (This is where Archer stopped.)
He sighs, and looks up. Though his expression is a little weary, it is also full of hope.
With a purposeful stride, he begins walking forward again.
The camera stays at Archer’s footprints, watching Shirou’s back as it recedes into the distance. End Scene.
(If you need to make it easier to understand, have Archer appear at his footprints after Shirou leaves, watching over him… though hopefully you won’t have to do that.)]]

Nice epilogue, although I believed this is anime-original? cause in the VN i didn't remember scene like this.

Is it just me or Shirou become taller and more handsome <3 he still holds his naivety and stupid ideals so, yeah, not going to score high in my book xP
Rin clearly stated "I'm Shirou's GF!" making Issei surprised. lol

Wow, I never expected to like this episode as much as I did. I thought the majority of the show has been pretty terrible, a few scenes being exceptions. This episode felt like how the anime should be, like everything before it was just background noise leading up to it. It really is a shame this is the ending, because I'd love to watch more.

Also it's weird seeing Shirou and Tohsaka looking like adults. And the way they acted. Really would have preferred them like this throughout the show.

The only part when i actually became engaged was when Waver shows up and questions Shirou's resolves in a pretty neat, unpretetentious manner (which also incidentally sums up my feelings about Fate UBW).

Aside from that, meh ending.

God that Epilogue. Shirou and Rin's relationship is kinda lowkey where they aren't too loveydovey so it was nice to see an entire episode dedicated to them ~ Best girl Rin
I can't believe UBW has ended I'll miss it so much and I'm glad that this was my first introduction to the Fate universe since it has been an amazing ride. And that last scene with Shirou walking in the desert, I really like the fact that he didn't give up on his ideals and decided to follow it just because of the beauty of it with Rin supporting him and telling him she would do her best to make him happy oh god she's perfect for him TT TT

Damn that Sakura Shinji scene shocked me since Shinji of what I remember beats her regularly and implied after Riders death that he had raped Rider to Kirei. Sucks to be the sister of such a guy thus why I've gained new respect for Sakura.
I liked the way they handled Sabers and Archers closure. Especially Archer's story got a very fitting end.

I've highly enjoyed the clash of ideals between Archer and Shirou and think Ufotable has done an amazing job with this anime.

At this rate, the second season ranking (8.59 currently) will drop below the first season's (8.58)... that's a first.

Not really a first, there are quite many later seasons on here with lower scores than their preceding ones. E.g. Psycho-Pass S2, Nisekoi S2 or Tokyo Ghoul Root A, just to name a few from the top of my head.

You would have it that way if the anime did not decide to overblow Rin's tsundere-ism and underscore everything about Shirou till this.

I see, my bad then, sorry about that. For something like UBW though, I'm kind of surprised to see the second season possibly falling behind the first season.

Considering the missteps taken its not that surprising
A lot of people expected the show to get better and fix the mistakes done after first half. That did not happen.
So it is only normal that second half, which actually happened to be worse, gets lower rating.

Well I like this resolution filled episode.

Shiro and Rin make an extremely cute couple.

The last sin with archer teleporting away was he going to save someone?

Also, Shiro chooses the archer path in the end but this is to be expected since is the second route.

I am looking forward to Heaven's Feel!!!!!!!!!!

I like this episode though they should have done a better job of resolution of the Shinji situation as well as final scene.

Anyway the Series on the whole is a an OK adaptation. It suffered from directional issues on what it wanted to be. These issued would have more acceptable if it was an original route, but after naming it UBW, I expected UBW, not 'Zero sequel' or Fate route additives, which ended up weighing it down.
It almost seemed as if UFO wanted to experiment with new styles, people and they used an established franchise like FSN to do it as it still will be profitable. HF will be the equivalent in movie format probably.

In the end I still liked it very much, but it could have been so much more.

I am also a bit glad Fate route was not adapted. Despite all the flak it gets, its very good IMO and didn't deserve another adaption which was not upto scratch. (Still hoping for an OVA at the very least, hah the contradiction.)
